It’s was such a fun tour. It’s a big, lush and elegant palace. It’s worth a visit with a tour guide to understand it’s history.

For some reason the Prado portion was canceled but the company let me know a day in advance.
The Reina Sofia was a wonderful museum but the audio device was TERRIBLE. So difficult to hear her. A couple left 20 minutes in because the could not hear. She was a good guide when I could hear

Having the Prado part of the tour canceled was a huge disappointment. The museum was open and somehow the tour operator didn’t make it happen even though we booked this reservation months ago. Really inexcusable.
The Reina Sophia part of the tour was excellent!

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I learned more about Spanish artists and their works of art in both museums. It was wonderful to see the pieces in person AND to learn the facts (and some myths) behind the masterpiece(s) as well as the artists themselves.

Early morning time slot to beat the crowds but sooo busy. A lot of allocated time used checking people in Once in the Prado museum a selection of pictures re history and popular artists was provided which was really interesting and relevant. A good option if just planning a short visit to museum as its collection is huge and so is the building

Disorganized and the guides were late! Left us on our own to get to the other museum. Disappointed! We had to use Google to find our way. When we got there the guide walked so fast we had to run. We gave back the radio and did a self tour. Too bad because the museums were very nice. Will never book a tour with Amigo Tours. We have booked tours all over the world but never had a bad one. The guide even told us to complain.

Tour guide lingered on representative period artwork w deep discussions. As result, we did not see 90% of the Prado collection before leaving to the Sofia tour. Overall, a great introduction, but you might want to return at a later time.

The visit to the Prado and the Reina Sofia are definetely worth it. The guide was very polite and attentious explainning very well the paintings and I really learned a lot about modern art at Reina Sofia.
The issue was the group size, which in the end was about 25 people at the Prado museum (visit in spanish) and as the experience is sold with max 10 people I was expecting a different experience.
Actually, I came to an opinion that we saw a lower number of paintings due to the difficult movement of such a big group.
Maybe it were the holiday season, but at least I would rather know of the change in advance, not at a point you don’t have a choice.
Maybe next time.

Why the 5 STAR limit...?!? Our Guide, Elena, deserves 5 Stars & many, many more!!! Smart, informative, humorous, w/ excellent communication skills even in her second language, English, Elena took us on an exceptional tour of Art & History, never failing to explain how a particular piece fit into the greater World of Art as well as the greater World of five centuries of History!! By focusing on Spanish luminaries Velazquez, Goya & El Greco in the Prado, & Picasso in the Sofia, Elena not only did justice to our enlightenment, she also shined a very warm & engaging light on her beloved Country. Terrible! The guides didn’t show up at the time set in the booking. We had to buy our own tickets to do the visit without the support of any guide.

Excellent counterpart to Prado. Significant works by Avant Garde and Surrealists leading to the main attraction "Guernica". Our tour guide gave a thorough overview and great explanations for many of the main works. No tour like this can cover every work but we got a very satisfying overview.

This was a terrific two part tour. Our guide Helena Del Pozo spoke excellent English and, most importantly, brought the art to life with her amazing knowledge and understanding of the art and artists. We loved both tours. The meeting point was also very easy to find and Helena was right there waiting for us too. We appreciated that a lot.
If there was any downside to the tour it was that Helena had to give a simultaneous translation at the Reina Sofia (English and Spanish) which meant some delays between rooms. Still both tours were well paced and interesting.

Elena was knowledgeable, inviting questions and answered quite concisely. She brought context and history to the pieces viewed.
Too many persons were included in the tour at Reina Sofia. The language in both English and Spanish made the tour at Reina Sofia tedious. Elena did her best to keep everyone everyone engaged.
