Michael_W, Jul 2026
Super informative and light hearted, even while learning about some pretty gruesome stuff ! Our guide made a lot of jokes and had a good attitude
Sarah_C, Mar 2026

We did the Witch Tour with Veronica and she was amazing! Very funny and knowledgeable. She made a point of learning all our names and interacted with us all during the walk. I would highly recommend this experience.

Wrap up warm if going during the winter months and be prepared to walk a lot! This experience was worth every penny. History mixed with giggles from our wonderful witch Veronica.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much for your review, Sue!
We’re so pleased you joined us in London and that you felt the experience was such good value.
A winter tour certainly calls for warm layers, but we’re glad the atmosphere and storytelling made it worthwhile!
Veronica will also be delighted to know her performance added to your afternoon. We’d love to welcome you back on one of our tours again soon!

Wonderful walking tour from Southwark to St. Paul's that covered some of the curious and grisly witchy history of the area. Our guide was delightful and well-versed in the chosen spots and stories, and the group was a lovely, manageable size. A fantastic way to explore a part of London I hadn't spent much time in!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you so much, Chandra! We’re thrilled you enjoyed discovering this fascinating part of London with us.
It’s wonderful to hear that the tour, the stories, and the manageable group size all made for a fantastic experience.
We really appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back again soon!

Had a pleasure of Gary the Grey touring us through London, and it was a highlight to our day. Gary was very professional, funny, welcoming and we would recommend this tour to anyone, young or old! Thank you for a great experience.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you for your kind words, Justyna! We're thrilled to hear that Gary the Grey made the tour a highlight of your day. Thank you for your recommendation and we hope you have a great day!

Garrick, Gary the Gray is a wonderful guide. The walking tour was awesome. We participated on Halloween night and it was the best Halloween spooky experience. And so much history of the 300 years of tragic witch-hunting And cruelty.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you so much. Gary will be delighted to hear this wonderful review!
Isabella_E, Nov 2025
We did the tour last night on Halloween and it did not disappoint! Even though there were intervals of downpour it didn’t hinder our experience. Gary the Witch was amazing and we learnt so many new interesting facts, I would definitely recommend this tour!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Have a lovely day!
MrsJayne_M, Sep 2025
The experience was excellent but the ticket did not give a very good location to meet the leader. I did not know where the meeting point was and neither did the four people I asked to direct me. There should be more detail on the meeting point location.
Christopher_S, Aug 2025
The guide was phenomenal. Enthusiastic and very very knowledgeable throughout the entire tour. Felix was extremely lively and would do this again.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you so much for this lovely review! Have a great day!

If you want a knowledgable witch tour of the Southwark/borough area, this is the tour for you. I’m so sorry but I forget our tour guides name but she was fab. Methusia??? Maybe?? Anyway, she was great. You get to see things that you would never know were there unless you were on this tour. Worth the money.
Response from Host, May 2025
Thank you so much for your lovely review. Have a wonderful day!
Lena_K, Oct 2024
The guide was amazing! She did a great job explaining everything and the entire group - including us, of course - seemed to be more than satisfied. Definitely worth it!
karen_m, Oct 2024
I did this your tour with my 2 adult sons a few weeks ago. It was fantastic! I wish I could remember our guide's name. She was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and great at playing off the crowd! One of my favorites things we did! Loved walking along the Thames at night. Highly
reccomend this tour!
Ruth_K, Oct 2024
I really wanted to do this tour, and I dragged three friends who weren't especially interested. Our guide, Beatrix, was so in character and enthusiastic that everyone enjoyed the tour! We enjoyed seeing some of older London, and the stories of witches were entertaining (though also dark!) I highly recommend this tour!
Lisa_T, Oct 2024
Learned about some of the darker side of London. Veronica was the perfect witch to take us on our walk. Lots of knowledge and historical information, and some jokes and fun.
Kara_H, Oct 2024
The group was small which made it easy to get around and see the small historical sites. Some of the things we saw were not big tourist traps so I would have never seen it had I not gone on the walking tour.
ROHAN_D, Sep 2024
Absolutely brilliant tour full of interesting facts. Tour guide was amazing. I would recommend this tour
Kristine_F, Sep 2024
I had a guided tour with Veronica and she was great! She was punctual, dynamic, engaging and very kind. She knew her material very well and the tour was informative and pleasant! I would definitely recommend her 💯
Dawn_B, Aug 2024
Our host was brilliant! Great fun. We were with a 10 Yr old and she was great with them. Would definitely recommend.
dawn_M, Jul 2024
Tour was over played and serious instances of persecution were made fun off as if they were fairy stories not real life events.
So many historical inaccuracies. Main ones.
Tour guide- Society of Apothecaries formed by Henry VIII
fact - Society of Apothecaries formed by James I 1617
Tour guide - Nicholas Culpepper arrested by Henry VIII (who died 1547)
Fact- Nicholas Culpepper accused of witchcraft Early months of English Civil war (started 1642 nearly hundred years after Henry died)
Tour guide -the term hangover comes from the people attending hanging and getting drunk
Fact - in Victorian times if you were homeless and made money you could pay 2 pennies “hang-over” a rope rather than sitting on floor with firsts. It was 4 pennies to lie down on a make shift bed.
There are other instances of inaccuracies. Guide was disrespectful about the pagan religion n beliefs.
The tone was very much for tourists rather than historical tour. Several people left early. We only stayed as the route took us to our next stop.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for your thoughts, Dawn.
We’re sorry to hear the tour wasn’t what you expected. The London Witches and History Tour is designed as an immersive, costumed experience, with storytelling at its heart.
The content is extensively researched, historically accurate, and carefully scripted to provide a rich and engaging experience.
The performance style - including light humour and theatrical elements - is intentional, to bring the stories of those accused of witchcraft to life in an engaging and memorable way for a wide audience.
Regarding the hangover reference mentioned in your review; the exact origin of the term is in fact uncertain - it is included as a small illustrative anecdote to highlight some unusual customs and social aspects of history. It is not presented as a definitive fact, but as a light, historically inspired story to complement the main content.
We also note that you stayed for the full tour, and while you mentioned other guests leaving early, we did not receive any feedback from them.
We reached out to you via email at the time to clarify any concerns and provide support, but unfortunately never heard back. We take feedback seriously and are always happy to discuss historical content in more detail.
We hope this provides clarity for future guests - our tours aim to educate and entertain while presenting historically accurate stories in an immersive, accessible way.

Felix was a delight! Very knowledgeable and quite a congenial character and made the whole event quite fun. We only had 4 on the tour and when it started to rain Felix said to give him a moment to cast a spell (which he did!) and the rain stopped. You must keep him!!!!
Many thanks for the fun tour!!!

I loved the script that was associated with this tour! My mom and I were the only two participants so it was a very personable experience and we got to chat with the tour guide more than you would on a group tour. Our guide was amazing and made me laugh a lot, always staying in character and wearing a fun costume!
If you are a massive history buff with a lot of prior knowledge on the general history surrounding witches in Europe, the content itself might not be surprising, but the stories and jokes that go along with it make it worth the re-cap!

Intéressant, et l’animatrice mettait de l’ambiance ! Il pleuvait donc ce n’était pas idéal, mais sous un beau soleil cela doit être parfait
