- Please ensure to select the correct passenger option when booking your tour. The space inside the aircraft and we want to guarantee everyone will be comfortable in the helicopter. Selecting the improper option or misreporting weight can cause tour delays and cancellations without refund.
- No-bag policy. If you have medical needs that require a carry on, please note at time of booking. All bags brought to base will be stored in the tour office until you return from your flight
- Dress warmly and in layers, and wear rubber-soled shoes such as a light hiking boot or athletic shoes. The tour company will provide overshoes and can supply raincoats as needed. Remember to bring your camera, film and binoculars!
- Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative time or full refund
- Please ensure your weight is in the correct format (kgs/lbs) when you include your weight at checkout
- WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Please remember that each passenger will be weighed at our facilities. Be sure accurate weights have been reported and proper passenger types have been selected for each passenger. Misreporting weights or selecting the wrong passenger type may cause tour delays and cancellations without refunds.
- ADA - We have an ADA lift that assists guests with getting in and out of the helicopter. If guests use the ADA lift, they will be required to stay inside the helicopter on the glacier. While on the glacier the pilot-guide will open the doors so guests can still take in the sights, sounds and smells. The ADA lift has a weight restriction of no more than 250 lbs. You MUST notify Coastal Helicopters if you will be requiring the ADA helicopter lift. ADA Transportation to and from our facilities provided.
- Failure to provide mandatory information will result in cancellation of bookings. You must provide individual weights and pick up location details.
- Coastal Helicopters will try our best to accommodate parties/families in the same helicopter. However, we cannot guarantee seating as it is all based on helicopter weight and balance, as well as the other parties within the flight. This will be determined at the time of check in once everyone on the flight has weighed in. Should your family/party be in split into multiple helicopters, the landing will happen together. Please also note that lap children are NOT allowed, and each passenger must purchase a full fare ticket.

Not sure how to describe the experience. This was the one thing I wanted to go to Alaska and do. I booked months in advance, and was canceled <30 minutes before my scheduled departure. I can say the dude on the other side of the phone was professional.
As I contemplate a thoughtful review, I resist the urge to give 1 star like other customers. But I can give them 4 stars based off what they can and can’t control.
I can’t hold them responsible for the weather. I understand safety is a top priority and they have to make judgement calls. I only saw the weather in Juneau and have zero clue what the flight path and glacier conditions looked like. I guess I just have to trust their judgement on that.
I can hold them responsible for a vague policy of what “favorable weather conditions” actually means. Based off what I saw, any type of fog, low lying clouds, wind, you are out of luck. It’s going to be canceled. It’s especially disheartening to see helicopters flew 1-2 hours after mine was canceled. The weather changed that dramatically in 1-2 hours, how do they make that determination? Makes you wondered if you were canceled for higher paying customers. If I would’ve known that the weather had to be pristine, I would’ve hedged my bet and booked other helicopter rides on days and ports they could’ve flown.

This is the only tour that goes to Herbert glacier. They were very organized and professional. It was one of a kind experience that I would highly recommend. The pilot was very hands on and knowledgeable about the area.

Our pilot for the glacier tour walk was rude to us and shortened our adventure time.
We arrived on the glacier and The pilot and one of the members from our group were walking ahead and a member of our party said sorry if we are walking slow. His response was- “they always give me the old people”. We all found that inappropriate. In addition while we were flying in the helicopter and not at a point that he was preparing to land or take off. He told us he would need radio silence. After we landed, he continued to be rude. He Did not ask if we enjoyed the adventure. Did not say bye or anything. He just walked off without a word. Also, from pick up to drop off the adventure just barely made 2 hours while the brochure says approx. 21/2 hours. This pilot took away joy from the experience of a bucket list adventure. We would be hard pressed to recommend this to anyone if this is what the pilots are like.

Everything about the trip was exceptional. Our pilot Cameron was extremely knowledgeable about the entire area in the town and on the glacier. It was about 65° in town and surprisingly mild on top of the glacier, we only needed a light jacket. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

Amazing, bucket list, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Our family loved going up in a helicopter, flying over incredible Alaskan scenery, only to land on a glacier! We walked the Herbert Glacier, drank water from a glacial stream, and even spotted some mountain goats off in the distant hills.

They are very professional and give you time to enjoy. Our pilot walked with us and guided where we can and cannot go. He took some photos and videos for us where he he was comfortable to go to while we were not sure if we should go there. He was interactive throughout the helicopter ride and answered all the questions from my 8 years old granddaughter.
