The palace is already a long long walk up and down and make it worse they make you walk all the way uphill steep from the city center to the palace on a hot day although shaded in some areas still the air is hot . By the time you get to the palace you’re already so tired ! The title of this tour should be walking tour ! Yes they say no transportation at the end of the list . But they never tell you it’s hard on old people and making you even walk to the place on a steep mountain ! Plus we were staying at a hotel uphill next to the place along their walk way and we asked if the group would allow us to join ( way before the palace tour even begins ) , they refused . So we have to walk down hill and then realized no shuttle or bus and walk uphill all over again .. And the guide half the stuff she says can’t understand - Maria . People have to ask and she has to repeat 2-3 times . It’s better to get your ticket and do it yourself . We saw no lines or us skipping any lines . All entries to the entrance were no lines . The place where this is a line is the nasrid palaces which they won’t take you anyways !

This tour was informative and the guide was great. I should have realized that it didn’t include the Nastrid Palace. So know that going into it. Knowing that I actually would have rather done a different tour. But the guide herself was the sweetest!!!

Maria Jesus was a fantastic guide. She was fun and knowledgeable. The tour was entertaining and educational. I would recommend it to anyone.

The official ticket price is €12. Companies such as Viator purchase large numbers of tickets and then resell them at double the price. To make matters worse, they changed the time of our visit just one day beforehand and offered a poor-quality audio guide as compensation. These intermediaries are profiting from Andalusia’s cultural heritage while providing little value to visitors. Someone should urgently address these unethical and exploitative practices. I am extremely disgusted and will never use Viator again.

Thank you for sharing your perspective.
We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand your frustration regarding pricing and schedule changes, as both aspects can have a significant impact on a visit.
Regarding ticket pricing, it is important to note that some experiences may include additional services beyond the entrance ticket itself, such as booking management, customer support, timed-entry coordination, and the provision of an audio guide or other materials. These elements can influence the final price of the product.
We also regret any inconvenience caused by the schedule adjustment made prior to your visit. While operational changes are sometimes necessary due to availability or venue requirements, we understand that short-notice changes are not ideal, and we apologise for any disruption this may have caused.
Your feedback regarding perceived value is taken seriously, and we will ensure it is shared with the relevant teams for review. We appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns, as they help us continue improving both communication and the overall visitor experience.

Highly recommend!! We had Sandra as our guide and she was fabulous! Be sure to get your tickets early as they are a popular tour and sell out.

Maria our guide contacted us prior to our tour welcoming us to Granada and offering advice about the local area.
Then the tour operator then sent a message stating there was a problem with the ticket office in and was advised us to rearrange or cancel.
I contacted Maria who explained all was ok with our booking.
One day before the tour operator called us and luckily I answered. We was informed there was not enough people on our tour and could we join the earlier group or would we like to cancel.
We was happy to do this so all was agreed. We then reviewed another call asking me to reply to a email the operator had sent or we could not join the tour. We happened to be out and it was difficult but we succeeded. However all was not clear but we went ahead as planned. We had to travel a long way and was apprehensive as to whether a tour would go ahead.
On a positive note our tour did go ahead led by Sarah who was fabulous hence my five star review.
We would like to thank both Maria and Sarah for making our time in Granada special.
As regard the tour operator we felt they was somewhat unreliable.

Be prepared for a fair amount of walking. Our guide, Sandra, was awesome!! She was very knowledgeable about the history of Granada and the Alhambra!

From meeting Maria who is in the office and then going on our tour with Sandra, it was a brilliant time. Learnt so much, saw so many beautiful things. Lots of learning in three hours. We recommend this tour..
Tom_C, May 2026
The tour and our guide, Maria Jesus, were excellent but we did not realise that the tour did not include the interior of the buildings. This may be my fault but it was not made clear when booking.
The actual tour was was a great experience but we would advise people booking to read the tour details carefully.
Our group consisted of only 8 people so Maria was able to take the time and answer all questions we had.

Sandra was a super knowledgeable tour guide. She knew all about what we were seeing and kept the tour very engaging. Would highly recommend.
Paula_T, May 2026
Sandra was a very engaging tour guide! Being able to learn some of the history of Granada as we approached the first gate was a big bonus of the tour.
We learned so much more generally through going on a tour.
Mark_K, May 2026
Alhambra was nice and had a great tour guide. However, after I booked I kept getting pushy sales calls to also book Palacios Nazaries. A decision that do to time constraints I regreted.
Jane_M, May 2026
Fantastic guided tour of Alhambra with Sandra-lots of interesting information-would certainly recommend
Simon_B, May 2026
We arrived late and the staff at the office in Granada could not have been more helpful. Arranged for us to download an audio tour which we really enjoyed. Fantastic service.
Ray_F, May 2026
The trip was very good. It was with Play Granada and Sandra was a great guide who made the trip interesting and engaging.
Susanna_W, May 2026
We were unable to get tickets last time we came so made sure to prebook this time.
Well organised. Guide tried to phone us bedsorehand and as I failed to pick up, left a text. Met as per clear instructions. Informative guide speaking excellent English. Beautiful site needless to say. Delighted with our experience.
Kathleen_F, May 2026
This was a well paced tour with the very knowledgeable guide (Sandra). Sandra kept it interesting and has a great sense of humor.

Less than 24 hours before the tour started, the tour operator contacted me to say there hadn't been enough sign ups and so they were cancelling my tour. I was offered a choice of a full refund or to (for the same price) take my ticket and explore on my own (with the "help" of their app---in quotes because the password they gave me didn't work in the end)
As I'd already committed to the visit from an itinerary perspective, and I knew a lot of tickets were sold out, I felt I had no choice and accepted the offer to take my ticket with me and go on my own. So I ended up paying 4x what the regular ticket would've been.
Although it does warn upon sign up that in some "extremely unlikely" situations this can happen, and I understand if no one signs up then the tour isn't profitable, I think they could've reimbursed some of my fee, considering that the tour company provided me with nothing apart from a different location to get tickets from.
Also to note: this tour does not include the Nasir Palace, which wasn't entirely clear. The gardens and the castle are amazing and well worth the visit though. (The castle is quite unique!)

This is an excellent tour. Our guide was fabulous. He told us excellent stories and info about the Alhambra and sites around it. He was interesting and engaging.
Alex_H, May 2026
Absolutely fantastic tour. Sandra was so insightful and knowledgeable. She gave us lots of engaging info about the Alhambra and the pace of the tour was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone who’s thinking of visiting the Alhambra.
Danielle_B, May 2026
Would reccomend this tour, Sandra the tour guide was very friendly and engaging and made the tour interesting and fun! Alhambra is a must see attraction in Granada
Nicolae_D, May 2026
Interesting details, decently paced, Horatio knows the inside on this place. My advise if your feet are tired already, skip the fortress. Not really worth it. But definitely DO NOT skip the Nasrid Palace or the palace gardens.
Karla_M, May 2026
Very interesting tour. Sandra was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. It should be noted that the tour is about 6 km of walking. Alhambra has quite a few steps.
Sherry_M, May 2026
The tour operator cancelled the guided tour one day before. We had made the reservation in February. The tour operator gave us an audio guide which didn’t work well at all. A total waste of our time & money. Very disappointed with Viator.
Mary_J, May 2026
Given the price per person of 70 euros I expected a more intimate tour. There were at least 25 people in our group and I was left behind at one point after the guide invited us to take our time taking photos. The main attraction, the Nasrid palaces are closed for renovation. The gardens are beautiful, but if what you want to see is the glorious medieval moorish architechture, I suggest you visit the mosque in Cordoba or the Real Alcazar in Seville.
Akhil_G, May 2026
A day before my tour which was scheduled at 10 am they told me I had to pushback my tour to 12 pm (which I could not do due a pre planned train ticket) or take an audio guide. They had no refund exceptions at this point so I opted for the audio guide. When you do an audio guide you have to go to a secondary location to pick up your ticket and QR code which is 15 minutes walking distance from the actual Alhambra. The worker at that location spoke English but gave me very minimal information about how to actually enter the site and use my ticket and also the fact that the audio guide is actually accessed through your own phone rather than a headset you pick up. This made me waste 45 minutes looking for the entrance and figuring out that the audio guide was to be only accessed through your phone. Unfortunately no one told me this so I didn’t have headphones nor the proper wifi connectivity to even use the guide. The “tour” purchase merely became an entry ticket to certain sites for me at this point for which was very difficult enough to find the entry itself. I’d highly avoid the self audio guide option here.
Ellen_A, May 2026
Traveled with elderly parents using canes and the Alhambra was a lot for them. If we had done only the Nasrid Palace, it would have been just fine. We had trouble using the audio guide and matching the location to the audio loop segment. More guidance on that would have been helpful.
Erum_N, May 2026
Lots of walking , esp the steep climb to get to Alhambra . Make sure bring water and wear sunscreen . Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
davidyick, May 2026
Detail explanation, well planned routing.
Well planned break time smart to avoid the crowd , very good guidance to help the group enter the check point.
Andrew_R, May 2026
Tour ok but no more. Didn’t leave it with a full under standing of the Alhambra’s history. Guides English poor at times.
