I got scammed, I spent 200€ on a ticket to Alhambra but then the ticket lady gave me a 20€ garden ticket

Unfortunately, my experience was very bad as the company that sold the so-called Alhambra tickets was not honest. From the first moment the name of the tickets was that but when we arrived at Alhambra we were told that the tickets did not include the essential and most important part of Alhambra (Nasrid palaces)! That was truly shocking as I had traveled from Ukraine to visit the Alhambra palaces like everyone else but the tickets sold would. Only allow us to visit the gardens!!! The tickets sold for 125$ person only included a visit to the gardens....And when we confronted the company they were trying to exclude their responsibility saying that they informed me when they never did. I had to ask my girlfriend who is a lawyer to intervene and remind them of the applicable consumer protection law and only when she threatened going to the police, did they're return part of the money paid they deducted 85$ for alleged charges, so I lost money and the visit to Alhambra on the day scheduled which obliged us to stay one extra night to be able to visit it the next day.

I found this audio tour mildly disappointing. The audio information seemed to short and could have included more details. The signage for where to go as we walked was too sparse. The Alhambra was an interesting building but our audio tour only had six short explanations. The views were wonderful.

Feels like a lot of surprises with extra costs. We thought we bought tickets with nasrid palace but the day of the visit we got an WhatsApp that we could book this as extra for €49! That was up to the €35 we already paid. Read your ticket!! You have to get your ticket in the city first not at Alhambra itself.

After booking with Viator and getting confirmation from them, A day later I received an e mail purportedly from Viator stating that they could not honour our tickets since there had been an error in ticket availability. I didn’t notice the source of the 2nd e mail at this point; it was from Eva at Play Granada. She then proceeded to offer me an alternative tour package for 396€ as opposed to the 180€ I had booked. At this point I had no alternative since our friends were en route to meet us in Granada. I then noticed the discrepancy in suppliers but Playa Granada obviously would not refund the tickets. I assume that Viator e mail was hacked by Play Granada and that is how they contacted me.
Before booking with a tour company, check Chat gpt for ticket scams. There is a lot of info on this subject!

Book direct with the Alhambra 22 euros covers everything. Paid 37 euros for what was free anyway. Thankfully didn’t take up offer of 47 euros to get into palace.

Don’t go when it’s raining nothing is in place to help you enjoy the experience you just get soaked and made to stand out in the rain there is limited refreshment areas and they ran out of snacks. They are not flexible about adjusting time tables - it was an appalling

Viator was terrible!!!! They had us pick up tickets 30 minutes away from venue in an area that was very difficult to navigate to. We asked them to please email the tickets and they said they can’t do that. I asked to talk to a supervisor and she said they don’t answer their phones. So it took us at least an extra hour to get our tickets. Then they gave us a link to an audio guild that didn’t even work most of the time. Disaster all around!

Tickets have to be collected 20
minutes walk from main Alhambra entrance where we left the car on their perking than coming back another 25 min up the steep hill . After such a walk you are done and don’t have much more energy to explore Alhambra fully.
I don’t understand we we could not get tickets send via email .
Anyway Alhambra is one of the places that must be visiting once in Spain.

The Alhambra is beautiful it was an amazing experience to visit. Just make sure that you buy the ticket for the palace, too and check the opening hours of the museum - these we could not see.
Sadly the online audio guide is very disappointing, after a bit of listening we decided to go without and read about it later because it is so superficial.

Terrible. Arrived at agency to find that ticket had been issued for wrong date, 24 October not 16 October. Had to wait a further hour for manager to return. Fortunately I was in Granada another day and manager reissued ticket for the next day. I was with some Americans who weren’t so lucky as they were leaving Granada that day. Considering the ticket was a total rip off (99 euros for a ticket a third of that) this was abysmal service. I will never use your company again, and I will tell everybody not to use your company.

Used Viatour many time all around the world disappointed they would sell a trip which is so poor. Ticket collection not near Alhambra. Told us we had booked a guided tour when we hadn’t. Downloaded to iPhone, lots of spots with no signal so can’t use. Information very poor.

We got tickets at the last minute. Unfortunately this didn’t include access to the palace, which was a shame, but we enjoyed our time nonetheless. Audio guide required internet and the free wifi has black spots.

This company doesn’t deliver digital tickets. You have to go to their location to get them. They are a 20 min walk or so from the main entrance of Alhambra. Straight down and straight back up the mountain. It’s quite inconvenient unless you are near their office anyway. Most of the other online ticket offices are in the parking area of the Alhambra entrance. The tickets could have been sent digitally like most other Viator tours do. Audio as well. The audio doesn’t work well as it doesn’t allow you to choose your area and listen. It must find you but the location GPS doesn’t work well. So we couldn’t get it to work very often. Also read your tickets carefully as there are several areas you have to pay for so make sure you buy the ticket with all the areas you want to see.

They do not escort you to the entrance. You simply meet at Play Granada to pick up your ticket. The Audio is a download on your phone. So if you don’t have airpods or headphones it’s completely useless. And this ticket does not include entrance to the palace so you’re better off booking on booking.com (almost the same price but with palace entrance) or directly on the Alhambra website between midnight and I would say 8am.

The ticket we bought only gave you admission to the outside around the palaces, a couple of towers and the gardens. Be careful when booking as, to us, it wasn't clear on the ticket what's included. Our audio tour started nowhere near the gate for our admission. Once you've parked you then walk past the Alhambra Palace into Granada to pick up your ticket. A good half an hours walk and back again, and not easy. We got a cab back to the Alhambra. We found it hard work and gave up on the audo guide.
