Guide never showed up and no communication

Our tour guide did not show up and did not send us a message on why they weren’t showing up or why they might be late. The office persons we called said the guide would arrive at 3:40 and our tour was supposed to begin at 3. By almost 4 we paid for another local tour 130 Euros as our entry tickets time would run out meaning you have to exit the Palace by 5:30. At 4:18 we got a call from either the office or guide however each time I answered nobody’s responded - a bad connection. We still haven’t received a refund. Be aware of this company in Viator App. I hate to write this review. Also I accidentally booked the same tour one week prior and couldn’t cancel as too late. The guide never saw our message we would not attend. That guide called at 3:02 on June 4th asking where we were and I explained. I share this as if we did do the June 4th tour I booked in error my review would be different. Our June 10 tour was a disaster with this company. Luckily the nice local tour guide save the day and we toured the Alhambra and it was amazing. Good luck.

Screwed by Viator’ designated tour company for tour of Alhambra

Local tour company cheated us. We waited for guide in the area designated. At time for your no guide. Sent message to your company. They said 2 guides on their way. At 15 minutes passed your time. Sent another message saying. Guide says you are with them. I said you are required to check passports to get to the Alhambra. Was their last name Thompson? They said sorry for inconvenience. We were screwed ny the company Viator put us with and we need to get our money back. Charles Thompson I also sent earlier messages to Viator no response

Absolute worst - doesn’t even deserve one star

Booked this tour in January through Viator, but tour company is Naturanda. In early March, we were contacted asking if our original tour at noon could be changed to 10am or 2pm - we chose 10am. Received confirmation with a ticket showing the price of 94.24 euros. Viator was supposed to charge us approximately $144USD a couple of days before the tour. Received a text showing that Viator did charge us $144+ and a link to click on for a voucher. Time showed noon. I kept checking the app and it continued to show the time of noon. The day before the tour, I sent 2 text messages asking for confirmation of the time. No one ever responded until the day of the tour and then it was at 11:41am to tell me that the tour was at 10!! Someone at the Alhambra called Naturanda and asked for an English speaking person so I could speak with them. The woman said “you chose 10:00…sorry”. I explained that everything I had received afterward still stated noon and that I had sent 2 messages the day before with no response. She told me to go to the Welcome Center…what??? They gave us 2 vouchers for about 19 euros and basically expected us to do the tour on our own. We ended up paying another guide approximately 132 euros and he gave us a personal tour that lasted even longer. I sent Naturanda a message requesting a refund but surprise…no response.

Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommendable. If I evere come back to Granada, I will definitely book the tour with them.

Disappointing Tour - Little Information Given

First, the vendor changed the date of my tour saying they didn't have enough people on the date I selected and then changed the time. The guide was conducted in 2 languages at the same time - Italian and English - which really meant you got half the info. The guide did not seem to have much knowledge of the site - only the general dates and major events. I heard other guides providing a lot of interesting stories of the history of what happened there. Our guide just talked about how it was built and the main dates. I know of others who just downloaded an audio guide for a few dollars and thought it was great. I wish I had done that and not spent the money.

Unpleasant Change to Itinerary

We had booked this tour about six months in advance, but we were emailed a few weeks prior telling us that our tour would not include the Nasrid Palaces. We replied and tried to get rebooked, but Viator and the tour company would not budge. The tour itself was mediocre, as the guide only spoke a few sentences each time we stopped, providing very little history and context. We breezed through the Alhambra and Generalife far too quickly, and the tour was over in 2 hours instead of the advertised 3.

The guided tour was wonderful .. I think without our guide Maria we would have been lost wandering around for hours and may not have seen everything we neede to see ... well worth the skip the line price and tour
