Our guide Pam was super knowledgeable and shared many details about the entire collection and not just Michelangelo’s David (of which she knew a great deal as well). She presented the art through the lens of its relationship to Florentine identity which added depth and perspective.

We visited the Accademia Gallery today, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Anna, an art historian, brought the museum to life with her passion and insight.
Seeing Michelangelo’s iconic David was a privilege, but seeing it through Anna’s eyes made it truly special. She encouraged us to view art as an artist would—tracing the veins on the sculpture, noticing subtle details like tension or relaxation in the body, and interpreting clues that reveal whether the moment captured was before or after battle.
The entire museum visit was deeply enriching. If you have the chance, go. Let the art speak to you—even if you’re a complete novice. You’ll walk away more aware, more curious, and moved by the power of creativity.

Great guide and great tour. Informative and engaging. Also loved the skip-the-line access as it was a hot day to stand outside with the crowds. Our guide gave us helpful information, and helped clear a great photo op for our family next to David. Would recommend.

It’s a total scam, they took our money and never showed up at the location and now won’t issue a refund. We provided photo evidence we were there and waiting and called, texted and messaged the guide on Viator without response. Do not use this service.

This private tour with Stephano was chalked full of information. For one hour, Stephano was able to give us information about several statues in the Accademia before leading us to the David statue. To see David in person was mesmerizing, but I never would have appreciated the craftsmanship without all of the information Stephano shared with us. I can honestly say I appreciate Michelangelo and his artistic ability so much more after learning about David and some of his other work.

GREAT tour! This tour was just the right length and focused on Michelangelo and the statue of David. Our guide was very personable and incredibly knowledgeable, and shared his knowledge with wit and enthusiasm. It was so fascinating - we learned so much about the artist and the sculpture itself. We also got to explore the rest of the museum at our own pace. Highly recommend this tour and this guide!

I realize that the city was shut down due to the rain, but a simple email, text message, or phone call would have been nice. Instead, I stood outside in pouring rain with children for 45 minutes waiting for a guide to show up. People that booked a few minutes before the arrival time for skip the line tickets received cancellation notices, but I received nothing for my private tour.

A person can spend 8 hours inside going through the audio discussion of each piece of artwork. Our guide Galya took us to the most important pieces and went into significant detail about the history of each piece of artwork.
We would highly recommend a personal guide and Galya was extremely knowledgeable and patient.

Our guide Marina was quite knowlegable and shared with us a lot. We learned about the different painting and sculptural periods from medieval to Renaissance. And, of course, the statue of David, which is awesome in itself.

Martena was great. We met near the entrance, she provided us tickets, and we entered the Academia immediately; there was zero waiting in line! Martena is a an art school graduate and is very knowledgeable. She provided us with just the right amount of information for a handful of key paintings and statues. We also visited the new musical instruments wing of the museum, which was a wonderful surprise.

Martina gave an excellent tour of Accademia Gallery! She was considerate, informative, upbeat, and fun. She explained just the right amount (good details).
