Overview

This small-group tour in Punta Cana takes you to to sample some of the Dominican Republic’s key products: cigars, rum, coffee, and chocolate. You’ll visit the Don Lucas Cigar Factory to learn about the process of cigar making. You’ll also visit the choco and coffee museums, plus a rum bar. Poor Transportstion

Not rating the factory, but solely the transportation. We were unable to even do the tour because transportation never showed up to take us to our tour. We tried messaging and calling, even Viator couldn’t get ahold of anyone. They messaged back hours later offering to pick us up, but our day was already planned. Pretty disappointed.

A fun thing to do for an hour or two

It was a wonderful experience from start to finish - they picked us up from our resort and we had a couple of hours to roam around after the cigar portion of the tour! Very fair prices at the gift shops! We sampled cigars, rums, chocolates and coffee + teas. 10/10 recommend this tour! We had a great time

World Mart Gift Shop is where we were taken, not Don Lucas Cigar factory. It was a small smoke room where a man and his daughter were. Cigar was really good but this was not a factory. There was a corner of the gift shop that had a rum section and you could taste if you wanted to but there was just an unmarked bottle that they were pouring from. There was no chocolate tasting, just chocolate for purchase, the same for coffee. The description said otherwise.

Friendly staff, great service. Tons of activities in and out . All accommodations were excellent. So relaxing. What happens in Punta Cana says in PC. So much fun, shopping buying rum, cigars, clothing and souvenirs.

Do not book this tour!!! We have used Viator in the past with greay success and experience. However, this tour operator tool our money and did not pick us up. I called Viator twice on our trip to contact the tour operator and they never responded. We wasted our entire morning plus phone calls to Viator resulting in NO tour. Stay away from from this booking with Viator. We have asked Viator for a refund which hopefully we will get, but we will never get the lost time back on our trip.

Was never picked up. Even after contacting the company via message a day prior there was no response until well after my pick up time. They promised a full reimbursement but I didn't receive a penny. Do not book this excursion because it seems to be nothing more then a scheme to get your money. Most resorts offer this tour for free. So just check with your resort.

Great value for money if you're getting into cigars and a good opportunity to sample different rums. The cigar shop was the highlight and got a few different types to sample. They are a bit pricier than normal but it's a good experience if you want to try different ones.

Interesting to see but it was an apparent attempt to simply lure in tourists to get them to spend money on cigars, rum, coffee, chocolate and overpriced souvenirs. Only received 2 tiny rum tastings (about 1/4 of an ounce) and one tiny taste of coffee, the same size. They would likely get people to spend more money if they were more generous with their samples.

This place was a one stop shop for visitors that want to do something outside of their resort and get some shopping done with the price tag of the resort. Everyone is super nice. We were picked up on time from our resort in a van with air conditioning. When we got there he told us we basically had 2 hours to do all the things we wanted and he would meet us back at the van. The guys in the chocolate shop are super fun and knowledgeable. You can smoke in the whole entire place. I did see children there. So it's not an adults only thing. I liked that we were able to do things at our own pace without the hurry hurry of a guide or being stuck in a large group in the smaller buildings. It is the DR. It is hot. Some places have air conditioning some just fans. Overall, myself and my husband had a great time. We got cigars, coffee, chocolate and other gifts to take home.

So this place is a three to four activity experience. For 10.00 per person Not bad at all!!!! The best part i enjoyed was Don Lucas cigar factory and kokola chocolate. The shop prices are cheap. The little jewlery spot is also very cute. Reasonable prices.

This is transport to a cigar rolling factory (where you get a cigar to walk around with a smoke), a rum bar (some free samples - but the good stuff is 3-5 dollar a measure, a coffee roasting area (you can try some, chocolate shop - all have samples… there is also a really good and reasonable souvenir shop and cigar shop (with amazing stock) - you get picked up at your hotel, taken to the venue and driven back to your hotel - for the price you pay THIS IS BRILLIANT. We had a problem where our hotel would not let the bus in, we got a prompt visitor message from the venue regarding the bus, and he came back for us at the entrance to the hotel. Coming back we stopped at a couple of hotels, but for the price of the trip this was fine! Careful drivers too. You get a guided tour of the cigar rolling factory - with a brilliant and humourous. This is a shopping experience - there is no hard sell - a real gem!! Thank you to the organising company for being so good about collecting us…

The shops were very close to our resorts, the staff there were very friendly, they answered all our questions and provided samples of just about anything we wanted to try before buying, and the prices were EXTREMELY reasonable. I wanted to buy a shirt at the resort gift shop, but I wasn't going to pay $90+ USD. I found the same style of shirt at this collection of shops for $18 USD. Overall, we spent just over $200 here and managed to finish all of our shopping wants in one trip; some fantastic rum, several chocolate bars, several cigars, a couple pounds of coffee, and many souvenirs and gifts. We've already recommended the trip to other guests at the resort.

There was no tour of the Cigar Factory. There were 2 guys sitting at a table in the corner of a trinket souvenir shop. We were told Don Lucas Cigar Factory closed during pandemic but these 2 men used to work there. Including travel time we spent 36 minutes. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

The cigar tour was the best part. The rum tasting was out of samples. The coffee was good and so was the chocolate. Too many hands out as they passed you from guide to guide. Would have been nice to move along at our own pace or have one guide for the whole site.
