A good introduction to Cusco and Inka culture

Margaret_M, Sep 2025
The private tour was an excellent use of our time in Cusco. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Inka history and culture. The only hiccup was a mixup on the start time given to us being 1 hour earlier than the start time given to our guide.

Cusco is a very walkable city and our guide provided a very informative and engaging experience. He took us past the wall of tourism so we could see the inner parts of the city

Perfect welcome into Cusco

Awesome tour, very detailed! We learned so much about the Inca’s and their gods. The pace was perfect! We even tried some of the local tamale made by local women.

Fantastic Tour!

This walking tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Wilber met met us at our hotel early and made sure we had everything we needed for the tour including a rain Poncho as the weather is very unpredictable in Cusco. He was very knowledgeable about the city and all the sites. He asked us what was more important and if we wanted to spend more time in certain spots Vs others so he was very accommodating. We even had time to sir down at a local cafe and enjoy a quick late lunch. I highly recommend doing this tour. 10/10

Fantastic Tour, gave some great...

Fantastic Tour, gave some great insight to the Quechwa Culture. Our tour started with the Museum, and then we walked a short distance to the Qorikancha. We made the mistake of not having our altitude meds in order and our group of 3 took various turns feeling ill. Our tour guide ensured that we were good and even stopped and found us Mate de Coca Coca Leaf Tea. We were able to finish our tour without a hitch and it ended at the market where we got to see some interesting sights from food, to dry fruit and nuts, to fruits and slaughtered animals. Definitely not for the people with a weak stomach.

Our first visit to Cusco and we only...

Our first visit to Cusco and we only had a few hours before going on to Ollantaytambo- taking a private walking tour was a very good choice! Unfortunately our guide did not show at our arranged time - the meeting time had not been communicated to the guide. After making a phone call a very apologetic guide showed up in about 10 minutes. Guide spoke excellent English, was very informative and pleasant. I think we saw as much as was possible in the short time we had. We especially enjoyed our visit to San Pedro Market where we stopped to enjoy a freshly squeezed fruit drink. Inca museum was interesting and well worth a visit. Would like to have had more time at Qorikancha- crowded with many tourists but we were able to move around with ease as it was just the 2 of us with guide.
