Great hike!
Great hike, amazing guide Anthony and chef’s prepped meals were great especially the mango ceviche! Hotel was a bummer, not a 3-star hotel as mentioned a bit disappointing.

Challenging hike, but incredible views. Beyond worth the effort. The meals, transportation, everything was amazing.
We had a small hiccup on the initial pick up but they corrected it asap and it did not negatively impact our trip. They were quick to also apologize for the mistake which is nice to see.
Rosmel was an amazing guide, as well as his partner.

Amazing trip to Machu Picchu!
We did the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (2D/1N) with Victor as our guide, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Victor was incredible from start to finish—organized, knowledgeable, and so easy to be around. He coordinated a seamless 4:00am pickup, transfers to the train, and then guided us through an amazing ~8-hour hike, sharing history, culture, and stories along the way that made the trail come alive.
What really set Victor apart was how much he went above and beyond. He had dinner with us in Machu Picchu town, made hotel check-in effortless, and clearly communicated the plan for meeting up the following morning. The next day, he led an excellent, well-paced tour of Machu Picchu, gave us a fantastic lunch recommendation afterward, and then coordinated all of our transportation back to Cusco without a single issue.
We started this two-day excursion on just two hours of sleep due to a flight delay and an early pickup, but the energy of the group—and Victor’s positive, calming presence—made the entire experience feel easy and fun. Everything was so well organized that we could just enjoy the journey. Highly recommend this tour and especially Victor if you want a stress-free, unforgettable Machu Picchu experience.

Life-Changing Family Experience - challenging, grueling, rewarding and reinforcing family bonding!
1. Guides Grobber and Pepe were amazing ...
Grobber's English was exceptional and his understanding of the Inca history, culture, trek, and Machu Picchu were amazing - he genuinely wanted to share with all of us (he was from a village along the trek and was VERY proud of his family's role).
Pepe - was an amazing complement - his English was good but not as strong ... but he made up for this with his trail navigation ... Our twin boys ran/speed walked up front with pepe with endless stories and challenges ... while mom and dad (61) hung near the back happy to complete each day's mileage.
2. Equipment - Sleeping tents, private bathroom, dining tent, kitchen equipment, walking poles (and if needed sleeping bags and air mattresses were high quality) - we had lots of rain on the last night and had NO water in the tent ... I was a boy scout leader for years with lots of camping - I was impressed.
3. Food - blown away impressive ... I served in the US Army for 30 years ... was a boy scout leader for 10+ years, and have now taken some very engaging adventurous trips (white water rafting in Patagonia, Chile, and Northern Canada) and the food they prepared on two propane burbers with pots/pans they carry on their backs was amazing ... we had chicken and rice dishes, beef and quinoa dishes, cakes for dessert - suffice to say there was an excessive variety and amazing flavor - no one went hungry and everyone bragged about the quality
4. Water - available at every Meal to refill bladders or Nalgene's - never an issue - most came from mountain springs.
5. Porters - we had 13 Trekkers and 23 support (2 guides, 2 chefs, 1 waiter, one head porter and 17 actual porters (the individuals that carried everything) ... they were amazing ... always beat us to the next location and had tents set up waiting for us ... water available, tea and snacks for an appetizer, and then an hour later dinner ready for all.
6. 4-days of trekking ... d
Day 1 relatively flat (shakeout) - 10K (6.2M) ... traveling along the river to start passing through villages and neighborhoods [first night we slept in a great location with a store and wifi available for a small price $3.30).
Day 2 - this was 12K and included a VERY challenging climb through Dead Woman's pass (13,843 feet) - followed by a down hill to the camp for the night.
Day 3 - 90 minute uphill again and then rolling up and down - this was 16K (~10M) ... to the final campsite
Day 4 - 6K total with a climb to the sungate ... and then descent into Machu Picchu) - the view was amazing ... surreal looking down on that level of history after having walked the Inca trail for 4 days.
The closeout was a bus ride down the mountain, a lunch in the nearby town, train ride to our shuttle pick up point, and a shuttle back to Cusco ...
Bottom Line: it was grueling & challenging - but amazingly rewarding! You must be in reasonable shape ... Altitude sickness medication is recommended (my family of 4 all took it ... ) - but you'll come away with a feeling of accomplishment that will leave you looking for the next grand adventure!

Amazing trip! Edy and his team were incredible, we had breakfast before we started hiking then lunch after 4/5 hour hike and both were very good. Unbelievable sights and the team added to that with knowledge, humour and assistance. Would definitely recommend.

The guides are passionate, empathetic and genuine. They care so much about what they’re teaching you as well as your success and safety. The porters are super human and work so hard to ensure you are comfortable and cared for. The views are spectacular and leave you speechless. 10/10 trip with every cent!

Amazing!
My sister, a friend and I traveled with Bamba travel company to Machu Picchu on the
4 day/3 night trek.
I can’t say enough good things about the team that we were with. Our porters were amazing, helpful, and caring, especially Loco. They always had a smile on their faces! they worked so very hard carrying all of our equipment to each location where we camped. There were no alpacas, donkeys or horses used to carry the equipment. They carried 25 kg on their backs. I could barely carry 10 pounds in my day pack. They effortlessly ran up and down the steps. They made it look so easy even in the rain! They ranged anywhere from 20yo to 61yo. It was just amazing. Our chef Sanom, made each meal like a feast with minimal effort and equipment.
Our team leader Edwin was fantastic. This trek was the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life. I was always last to camp,
Edwin made sure that I was safe, he stayed with me and was my own personal cheerleader. He gave me the encouragement that I needed to finish each day. He was very knowledgeable. It was definitely fascinating to hear the history of the Incas and walk the same path that they did many, many years ago.
As I said, in the beginning, I can’t say enough good things about the team we were with. I would definitely recommend Bamba travel if you’re thinking about doing the trek to Machu Picchu. Please pass along my thanks to the team. I never would’ve made it without them.
