The mountain is a beautiful place. But the trip itself has some issues. It starts with a breakfast in an extremely busy restaurant with sub par food. The hike was good, though the tour guide doesn’t actually do anything but control the group moving together and in the same direction. No information given. The trip ends with lunch in the same overly busy restaurant with disappointing food. Overall a great place to visit, but I would recommend to anyone to just get a private transfer to the mountain instead as this whole trip was unnecessary and has partially ruined what could have been a nice day.

It was an amazing experience and the guide was amazing and helpful. only took off a point because we booked an english tour so we could learn more about the mountain but we were the only ones that didn’t speak spanish so not much english was spoken. either way an amazing experience for the price! #heberforever

This is a great way to see rainbow mountain and the red valley but I wouldn’t use this company again. The guide Franchesco didn’t really explain anything, and had a hard time sticking with the group and keeping us together. He would frequently go far ahead and let some of us straggle behind, and didn’t check in on us. From the top to the bottom I didn’t see him until I got back to the van. Also on the way down from the hike the driver was going WAY too fast. I was trying to sleep after being so tired and I almost fell out of my seat multiple times and the van was shaking really bad. Overall I still had a decent experience, glad I went. But both the guides and drivers need to slow down.

This allows them to lead the route, coordinate arrival times, and ensure the group follows the correct trail. Since each traveler walks at a different pace due to the altitude and physical condition, it is normal for the group to spread out along the trail. Our guides also make scheduled stops and wait at designated meeting points to ensure everyone can continue safely.

The weather was not too good, it was raining and actually the mountain was covered with snow. However, it makes the experience even more unique. I was picked up in front of my hotel, and then a long ride to the restaurant for breakfast (it was excellent). We continued the ride to the trail head. Heber, our guide, gave us some info and help us decide if we need a horse ride. I chose the horse, and it was the right decision, given the weather and the altitude, I won't be able to walk up even I am fit enough to run a half marathon. When I got off the horse, there was still around an hour of hike at high altitude. It was tough.
Different groups are identified by the color of the walking stick. At the top Heber actually looked for us (as the group got scattered) and made sure we are OK, and took some amazing picture of me. The hike down was fine, and it took a bit more than an hour. After the hike we went to the same restaurant for lunch. Excellent food. Then we rode back to Cusco and got dropped off at the main square. Overall, incredible experience and I still can't believe I paid such a low price.

My guide was Jonathan. He was great! I was little more experienced then the other hikers. So he let me go ahead of the group. Timing was impeccable! Would go with him again! And would highly recommend. Very knowledgeable and was is good at what he does! Hes the man! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley are a sight to see - obviously a little different than what you see in photos online but still fantastic to visit. The hike itself isn’t too difficult, but the elevation is extremely high so it can make it difficult to breathe. Acclimatize and drink lots of water/coca tea before doing this hike. Alex was a fantastic guide and helped a lot in moments where we weren’t feeling well.

Rainbow Mountain is a great natural world site to experience. Long drive, but worth it. Hike wasnt too strenuous, but the altitude has you breathing hard. Red Valley is a nice and easy side hike

We did this experience on our third day in the Cusco area. Compared to Machu Picchu and Humantay, this was a bigger challenge. The elevation is higher and the straight distance walked before reaching the Rainbow Mt. seemed longer. It definitely felt like being on another planet (feeling cold while also being blasted by the sun). The views were worth it though. The views in Red Valley are so vast, I could hang out there all day. The llamas and other photo opportunities are also very fun on Rainbow Mt.

Jonathan did a fantastic job on the tour! He respected our speed as well as the other hikers, so if we were ahead or behind, that was okay and he managed everyone very well. He also gave us good information and was an overall positive presence. This tour was definitely worth it! There is a chance of altitude sickness, but Rainbow Mountain was beautiful!! We had an amazing experience at Rainbow Mountain thanks to our tour guide, Wilfredo! From start to finish, he was knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. Good trip. I recommend it.
Just know that this is an adventure and you're not travelling in luxurious conditions for this price. The van was a few minutes late. The ride was rough and I couldn't sleep. The food at breakfast was fine but not perfect. I could have spent more time at Red Valley but the guide rushed us out. But all of these things are small inconveniences and overall this was a great trip! They handled the logistics of getting me there and back and that's the most important thing.
My only real complaint is that the tour operator did not contact me until the day before to confirm my pickup, even though I had tried contacting them on multiple different platforms a week before. So I heard nothing from them until less than 24 hours before departure and just had to trust that they new about my trip.

O yes, the experience was a great, special one, the gide of Tito was perfectly. Even we're was injoy, can't recommend this activity for everyone, a specially for old people's.
There's thing, if no sunshine over there you can't to see that beautiful mountains, because it's will covered by clouds, ha ha ha, then thinking twice to choose this activity.
Tour operators have to inform well about that activity, not just mind about money receive.

Really fantastic experience! The altitude is no joke, be sure to drink plenty of water, take lots of breaks, and go slow because it’s not a race. I didn’t take any pills for altitude sickness or do anything to prepare and I was fine, but definitely took it slow (as someone with an active lifestyle) At the top, lots of cute alpacas to greet you :) I highly recommend the extra red valley part, it took our breath away. Our tour guide Alex was really excellent; gave us lots of info, chatted with us, and kept our group organized. Our driver Alfredo was also great.

This tour does not provide any narration. This tour is just a transportation from Cusco to the drop area for the hiking to the Rainbow mountain. It makes 2 stops for breakfast and lunch . Both are very simple and in very crowded place.

The experience never happened.
They never showed up. No communication. I was stood on the street corner at 4am waiting, like some prostitute. I waiting 1 hour, ended up going back to bed.
It was my last day in Cusco, very upsetting that I missed out on seeing the rainbow mountain due to the poor organisation of this tour company. Avoid them! Go with another, there is plenty to choose from.

We got a text the morning prior to our excursion of pick up location, and time of 4:30-4:40. Gave some other tips of what to bring and how to prepare which was great. So when you’re starting an excursion at 4:30AM, you’re pretty much sleeping until the last moment. So we woke up at 3:55, 15 minutes to drink our tea and get ready, and then the 15 minute walk to the pick up location. However, when I checked my phone, i received a text at 11pm (so obviously we were asleep) that pick up for us was now 4:15. Which meant we had 5 minutes to get out the door. We responded we couldn’t do that and began to rush as fast as possible. He just said things like “it’s a group tour, we won’t wait for you”. We got out the door by 4:05, and ran all the way down from San Blas towards main square. We got there at 4:16AM, and no bus. I’m messaging the guide and he just keeps telling me to wait. We wait and wait and bus doesn’t show up until 4:22, and then waits around until 4:30 to leave…so I’d like to know why I was put into such a frantic mood at that time of the morning for no good reason. It truly set the tone of our morning to a frazzled bad one. Drive to breakfast was good, food was good for both breakfast and lunch. We did the entire hike and did the optional red valley (which is way better than rainbow mountain, make sure you do it). The tour itself was great. You don’t get the guide with you the whole time giving you info and facts or anything. He just says “see that point. Hike there” then met us at rainbow mountain, then pointed where to go for red valley, and then told us when it was time to head down. I wish it came with a bit more info and facts etc. but that is what it is. Traffic can be bad on the way back, so don’t book anything directly after the tour to be safe.

Full day excursion to Rainbow mtn. Pickup from hotel very good. Drive approximately 3 hours with stop for breakfast on the way, lunch on the way back. Hike itself VERY strenuous due to altitude, though actual elevation not bad. Please be aware. Horses for rent (bring cash) optional. Our group is quite fit but really struggled with altitude/headaches despite acclimatization. Weather made ultimate view less than expected through no fault of tour provider. This provider served many Spanish-speaking clients, but guide bilingual. Guide was GOOD and very professional (Tito). Recommend but be prepared!

Alex our tour guide is nice, he is quick to explain anything needed to know before the strenous hike. He have the necessary things prepared and take care of the people that have altitude sickness. The breakfast and lunch included is basic, taste okay, like traditional peruvian/cuscan home food, so don't expect very high gourmet quality, and i think it is fair for the price of the tour. The restaurant for breakfast and lunch is the same, i recommend to use their restroom before and after the hike to vinicunca/rainbow mountains, once up in the mountain there won't be any restrooms.
Bring extra cash to rent a horse to go up, it is 50 soles per ride to go up or down (negotiable), it is an amazing experience. You can save some energy and help out the community there that just recently have road to access to their humble home.

Great experience, all well organised and all was very smooth. Great value for money too. Take warm clothing, it’s gets very cold. Gloves are a must!
