Guide is very knowledgeable and timed the tour perfectly. The sites visited were great examples of Cusco history.
Eric_K, May 2025
The tour was great and took me to some great sights in Cusco. The Temple of the Sun was particulary good to learn about. I only wish the tour had lasted a little bit longer. Though because I was the only person on the tour, perhaps it would be longer if there were more persons.

Nice tour of the city. Small group and flexible. Moved around by car efficiently despite being able to do this on foot.

Very nice tour. Unfortunately, we were experiencing altitude sickness. So when you arrive to Cuzco, give yourself a day to acclimatize. Drink tea, soup, no red meats just chicken. Stop by one of the local pharmacies and get some altitude sickness pills. We were sick for the entire tour, but the tour itself was really really good. Our guide Henry was extremely knowledgeable and showed us some very cool things! We just wish we weren’t sick during the tour. Also, take some Sol(Peruvian Money) with you in case you need to use the bathrooms. Most places charge 1-2 Sol to use the bathroom. There are very few places that have free bathrooms.

Cusco is a historic city and Jose Marie did an excellent job telling the stories and explaining the subtleties of Cusco. The tour was at a leisurely pace which is important considering the risk of altitude sickness in Cusco. The highlights are the Sun Temple and Carhedral for historical contexts and the market for a view of daily life.

I purchased the tour months before I came to Cusco. The tour was supposed to start at 2:00 with a pick up at our hotel.
I had scheduled the rest of my day around a 3 hour excursion.
The day before the tour I got an email stating that we would be picked up at 2:25 pm.
No one showed up. I called. Said they would be there in 5 minutes.
We left at 3:00 to go look around.
I got a call at 3:00 saying that they were looking for us. I told them I had dinner reservations at 6:00.
He said the tour would be finished at 5:30.
The tour I bought was a 3 hour excursion ending at 5:30.
Ultimately, he was going to give us an hour and a half rush tour.
They did refund my money, but it was a disappointment.
I do not think they meant for this to happen and I would not discourage anyone from using them.

Waste of money. The couple of places we could see on our own like the market, view point and the Gorichanka temple. Guide was not enthusiastic. He sat down and covered only the inner most area. There was a lot more to cover. It was shorter than expected. Cathedral was quick and seemed more optional.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
We are sorry for the perception you had of the tour. The requested service was shared, which requires specific times at each attraction. The tour began with a visit to the San Cristobal viewpoint where it was explained and you were given time for photos. You continued the tour to the San Pedro Market where you had time to explore it and do some shopping, after the Market you went to the Qoricancha temple where you spent around 30 minutes, then to Hatuntumiyoc street and finally they visited the Cathedral and then you decided to stay in the main square.
This route was made in the times distributed for passengers in shared service.
We hope to have you another time visiting Cusco so we can change your mind about our service.

Hotel pick up was prompt. I booked an English tour but was the only English speaking person (with a group of 6 Spanish) meaning the majority of the tour was in Spanish, with short English translations. This was extremely disappointing and had I known in advance, I would have selected an alternative tour.

Good overview of Cusco with all its rich history. A tour like this is a must when visiting Cusco. I attended this tour July 2019.

We enjoyed this tour & wanted to provide a special shout-out to Robin. He was a wonderful guide, kept everyone engaged & really went above and beyond for us.
Parker_W, Jul 2022
Marcelo was an incredible tour guide! He was an expert on Peruvian history and could answer every question we had in great detail. 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone! Marco was our driver, and he was very kind and careful.
Pam_S, Jul 2022
Our guide Manuel was very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about the city and culture of Cusco. The tour gave us a chance to sightsee and shop in the local market and not tourist areas.
Prachibhagotra, Jul 2022
The sun temple was the only interesting part of the trip.
The rest of the itinerary was not very interesting.
Keisha_T, May 2022
Great tour! My husband and I were the only English speaking people on our tour. Our tour guide did an amazing job explaining the history and culture of Cusco to us. It was an awesome experience.

This was a nice intro to Cusco. We got to explore different different vantage points of the city, see various chapels, learn about the prdouce at the San Pedro market, and learn about the history of what made Cusco "Cusco". We ended the tour at Plaza de Armas, which is a beautiful square with eateries, shopping and vendors selling souvenirs.
Preston_T, Jan 2022
We had a blast on the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about Cusco and its history. I highly recommend booking.
Lita_V, Oct 2021
Touring the churches, the streets and the safe travel experience. It was a nice small experience and historical.

I'm so happy I made this booking! The tour company Viajes Pacificos was extremely organized and helped relieve any of my doubts about traveling solo. When I arrived to my hotel, a representative met me at my hotel to inform me where to meet my guide later that day. I was immediately put at ease! At the tour start time, Gabriel met me at my hotel as previously promised and we began our tour. I learned so much in such a short amount of time! Additionally, Gabriel was happy to take pictures of me in each of the locations which isn't always a guarantee when traveling alone. He gave great insight and I didn't feel rushed. The tour was by van and on foot. I am super grateful for the employees at Viajes Pacificos. I couldn't have explored the places I wanted to see in Cusco without them!

We wanted a way to see the main sights of Cusco in one afternoon, with a little more history than if we were to just look at everything ourselves. This tour did all of that, plus organized the day so it was easy and efficient to see everything without having to order cars, follow maps, etc. Our guide was very kind and educated, and our driver was good and safe!
Rebeca_F, Oct 2019
Tour guide was very proficient with the history of the city. We visited churches, archeological sites, markets, and other interesting places with Inkan history. He has a vast knowledge to share. We really enjoyed his sharing the culture, traditions and history of the places we visited.
Dana V, Sep 2019
Cusco is a pretty small city, and this tour was a great way to see everything in one go. Our tour guide was super friendly and knowledgeable, giving us information we never would have gotten if we toured the attractions on our own. We really loved the market and the church, and lucked into walking by the 12-angle stone while no one else was around. Definitely a good way to spend the afternoon.
Bertrand T, Sep 2018
Nice tour, however our guide was not particularly in a good shape that day. But very eloquent and instructed. We had the impression that he expedite the end of the tour.
Nicole_K, Jul 2018
I had just landed and was on my own and this Cusco tour with Viajes Pacifico was a perfect way to start out my trip and get the lay of the land. The guides explanation of Cusco's history was wonderful and the sites even more so! Beautiful place and fabulous tour guide!!!!!
Mark R, Jul 2018
Most of this tour was spent bumping around in Cusco traffic. We went to another hotel on the other side of town presumably to pick up other passengers - they were presumably no shows but there was no explanation. After a brief tour of the markets we navigated back to the same hotel to pick up a couple who by now were presumably an hour late in a 3 hour tour - again no explanations or apologies or introductions. More traffic - a few stops and ended up back within 50 meters of our hotel to start the walking component. At no stage did the guide outline the itinerary or explain what was going on. While he gave quite interesting commentary when we did stop at various sights it was as if he was reciting by rote and at speed presumably to make up for lost time -he gave the impression he was clearly bored. Some of the views expressed on the inter-mixture of Catholicism and local beliefs were very interesting but somewhat dogmatic. Overall one of the worst of many city tours we have done world wide. Avoid.
Clyde_B, Apr 2018
Tour was good and the guide was very knowledgeable.
Alex L, Feb 2018
Incredible tour. it was the the perfect tour after arriving two hours prior to the tour. The sites we visited were well chosen to give a great view and cultural knowledge of Cusco. Our guide had a tremendous amount of knowledge and provided insightful cultural and historical context at all the sites we visited. A must tour to select for your first day.
Jose C, Feb 2018
Very good tour! Kind of short, was probably expecting a little more churches, monasteries etc.. but the guide was very knowledgable.
Lauren S, Feb 2018
The tour was scheduled to go 4 hours but we were done after 2.5 hours. The guide seemed rushed to get it over with. But great stops that focused on the must sees of Cusco.
