The wrongs outweighed the rights

Starting with the positives. Both Moray and the salt mines were well worth the trip. The guide was good and described the sites in detail including history. Now for the bad parts. 1) commutation was horrible before the tour. I was at Machu Picchu and received the details for the trip which was around 4:30 pm. Included in the details was a threatening message the basically said you had to bring a tourist ticket and without it you cannot see the sites. I informed them I didn’t have one and thought I would need to cancel. So I basically thought i wasn’t going since I had no idea what a tourist ticket was and how to get one. 4 hours later I was then told it would be possible to purchase one at the Site. It would have been much better if this information was included in the description of the tour. It is not. It just says the entry to Moray is not included. 2) the tourist ticket costs 70 soles. Which is about $21. So add that to the cost of the tour as you compare companies. AND they only take cash. So I needed to find an open ATM when I returned from Machu Picchu at 10 pm 3) pickup was disorganized. The day before they said pickup is between 7:30 and 8. 30 minutes is a long time especially in the morning when you are trying to arrange breakfast. Finally I was told pickup would be at 8:10. My hotel pickup was some random guy who met me at the hotel. We had to walk about 5 minutes to meet the van which took about 10 minutes to arrive. We drove around in circles to pick up the other guests and didn’t leave Cusco until around 9:20. There were random guys hopping on and off the bus and you had no idea who the actual guide was until we left Cusco. Zero communication during pickup. 4) instead of a very disorganized pickup there should have been 1 or 2 pickup spots in town. This would have shaved an hour off the total time of this tour. 5) finally there were 2 unnecessary stops. One at a weaving place and one with a salt tasting. Both were okay but added another hour plus to the tour. This tour could have been cut by at least an hour if they were better organized. I would not recommend. The sites were good but everything else spoiled it for me

Fascinating Sites

Laurie_L, Nov 2025
This was a great way to visit and learn about some very interesting sites around the Cusco area. Public transportation is not readily available to reach these outlying areas so a day tour like this was the perfect way to see them. All the places we visited were very interesting. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars were around some of the logistical details. We were not staying in a central hotel and the shuttle pickup caused a lot of confusion. The driver did not pick us up and we were put on another tour - which was fine except we took the last seats on an already cramped and stuffy bus. We weren't really prepared for the hiking/stair climbing that was involved and would have appreciated seeing that be described a bit more when researching. I would certainly recommend this tour, but would caution anyone with mobility or breathing issues to be aware.

Well organized and the tour was as described. Guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Minibus was comfortable and a bag lunch was provided. Great 6 hour day trip, back around 2:30

Great trip of sacred valley.

It was an easy day to sit on bus and scenery was magnificent. Your guide explained enough about each stop to be interesting without constant chatter

Great tour!

Great tour. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience. Well conducted tour. I really appreciated the time were allowed at each spot. The history is fascinating. But I would avoid buying anything at the shop we stopped at. I thought I bought a handmade wool sweater and handmade cotton table runner. What do I know about fibers. A friend told me the sweater was machine made acrylic. I felt taken for a fool. And that disappoints me very much. I paid a lot for just two items ($133) only to find I was duped.

Amateur company

Mick_M, Aug 2024
The organisation of this company is shockingly bad, I would advise to stay clear. They did not puck me up at the agreed time time then they wanted me to pay for a taxi they managed to re route a bus that picked us up 1 hour later completely ruined the trip before we got started
