A fun tour but slightly misleading!

The tour was good however don't expect to get to the top of the mountain on this excursion. Your ATV experience starts at the bottom of a track and ends where all the other tourist buses end. If you wanted to see the mountain you then had options. 1: walk the steep 50 minute climb 2: pay to go up on horseback or 3: pay to go up on the scrambler motorbikes. When I booked this tour there was no mention of any extra costs involved or that it didn't take you to the top. As the weather was awful, we paid an extra 160 soles for two bikes to go up and down. If I had known this beforehand I would have booked the normal excursion as the starting point to go up the mountain is exactly the same. Rogelio, the guide, was very good and explained there had been some issues with the Peruvian govt and the locals re access but we were never pre-advised. The trip itself was very good and the ATV's were fun but be prepared to take gloves, waterproofs and warmer clothing if you go in January. 😀
