I highly recommend this tour! This is for experienced or beginners. Socrates is extremely friendly. He not only talked about some of the history that we experienced during the excursion but he also shared some of his favorite places to go to in Crete when we were done with the tour. Really great insight! This excursion was relaxing and exciting at the same time! He also takes some great photos and videos for you!

Paddle boarding with Socrates was truly an amazing experience that you can NOT miss!! As a VERY inexperienced paddle-boarder, he was patient with every aspect of the adventure and teaching. The views, snorkeling, and knowledgeable that Socrates shared were exceptional. MUST do!! Did I mention the views?! Omg! 🩷

So much fun! Great for solo travelers. The morning tour was a great way to start the day and get outside of the touristy areas. Fun work out, beautiful scenery, cool history, great guide!

Socrates loves the island and what he does. His enthusiasm shows in the care that he takes to ensure all of his guests had a great time. He adapted the tour to meet the skill level of the guests to ensure we got the most out of the experience. Would give this more stars if I could and recommend doing this tour if you have a free morning.

A must do in Chania.

Absolutely wonderful experience all around and highly recommend! Socrates took us around the bay and to island for a special surprise. Extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with, our teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed him and the experience too! He also gave us incredible local recommendations. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

This was one of our families amazing experiences while on vacation in Greece. Socrates (the owner) was so helpful with teaching us to paddle board (none of us had ever done it before), and he was so encouraging. The waters were very rough the day we were there, but we didn't give up and had a great time. He is so knowledgeable about the surrounding area and we learned so much about Crete. We paddled to the island area of Lazaretta with great views of Crete. Socrates took pictures during our time, provided water and a snack as well as a tour of the small island. Highly recommend this experience!

This was one of my favorite experiences ever. Socrates was so helpful with teaching us to paddleboard (we never have before) and was so encouraging. The waters were very rough and gave us the option to move it, but we couldn’t. He was so accommodating. He is so knowledgeable about the surrounding area and we learned so much about Crete.

My fiancé and I were on a cruise for our honeymoon through the Greek islands. We did not know much about Crete and booked this excursion to shake up the typical tour and ruin visit we had been doing. We could not be happier to choose this excursion. We can’t stop talking about the fun we had. Socrates runs this small business and was an amazing guide and instructor. We are larger people with average to lower than average athleticism but Socrates showed us how to use the paddle boards and made sure we were in call waters to practice standing. We then went to an Amazon island area of Lazaretta with great views of Crete. He takes pictures during our time so we don’t have to worry about dropping anything in the water. The water is the most stunning clear and turquoise I have ever seen. If you do not do this activity when you are in Crete, that needs to change!

Unforgettable Experience

We had an unforgettable trip with Socrates. I would highly recommended this to anyone visiting Chania or nearby areas. The trip started by us making our way down to the meeting point, we geared up and set off to paddle to the harbour. Myself and my friend attending the only two booked on the sessions and have paddle boarding experience which we informed Socrates about. Once arriving at the harbour on our paddleboards we were fortunate enough to be joined by 3 huge turtles! It was an amazing sight and something we won’t ever forget. After this we continued to our paddle to the nearby island of Lazaretta, we had the beautiful island all to ourselves. Once we have had arrived at the island Socrates gave us a bottle of water and small snack each to enjoy which was a lovely touch. We then spent some time exploring the water with snorkels and exploring the island with Socrates who was very knowledgeable about the history. Originally we had booked an afternoon session but Socrates got in touch after looking at the tides and swells to suggest a move to the morning session. This was a great suggestion on his behalf to avoid the mounting swell and rough seas which arrived later in the day. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. Which we would highly recommend to others.
