A fun day in the mountains
1. Our guide, Michelangelo (Mikel) had a great sense of humor and knowledge of Cretan history. The guides are integral to the entertainment of the tour, as they narrate and demonstrate each stop on the way. 10/10 for our guide.
2. The stops include views of beautiful mountain, lake, and ocean vistas for photos. Because there were only 8 people in the Land Rover, we had time to take a lot of photos. Our guide also took photos for us. Most of the vistas were isolated. We don’t have to compete with other tourists for the best spot.
3. First stop was to a traditional farm house to sample homemade raki, goat cheese, bread and olive oil. We got to grind wheat in a grindstone and milk a female goat.
4. The best stop of all was to see Zeus’ Cave. The entrance fee of €15 is not included in the tour price. The line to pay at the window took about 5 minutes. One had to hike 15 minutes uphill to the to the entrance. Once inside, there are well-constructed steps (200 down, 200 back up) and railing for the large cave. The visit takes about 10 minutes. Outside of the hills are also nice cafes and souvenir shops selling local crafts.
5. Lunch at a taverna in the mountains was simple but very tasty. I elected for a baked 1/4 chicken with lemony potatoes, Greek salad, green beans, bread with olive oil, and local red and white wine.
The off-road experience in an old Land Rover jeep was a lot of fun, but the car did not have air-conditioning. We were picked up at our hotel at 8 AM, and picked up two other groups before starting the journey. We were home by 4 PM.
One other annoyance was that as I tried to book this tour, I was unable to use my Viator credits. Viator also did not respond to my email or text inquiries.

Our favorite day in Crete
Can’t say enough good things about Maria and this tour. Go read all the five star reviews and believe them. She was our favorite guide of the vacation, and took us to a cafe, cultural museum, monastery, ottoman fortress, olive oil factory and winery. Maria effortlessly blended facts, legends, and modern observations about Crete, its people, the food, and culture. The day was about eight hours long, and despite everything we did, never felt rushed, and certainly never bored. Miss you already Crete, and Maria! Would give more than five stars if allowed.

It was a wonderful day!...
It was a wonderful day! The crew was friendly and fun. Plenty of life jackets, pool noodles, float, and snorkel supplies for all who wanted them. The boat had places in the sun and shade. Light snacks, lunch, and soft drinks were available throughout the day. Very friendly to kids.
The only negative/suggestion I would give is that if you are driving yourself to the port, I wish there would’ve been better signage or communication about exactly where the boat would be and where it would be best to park.

It is a rugged and...
It is a rugged and adventurous day out at a beautiful beach.
Our driver Manoli and host Jo were fantastic - everything ran to schedule and the full day passed very quickly.
There is a bit of a walk from the bus drop off to the beach but well worth it.

Awesome scenery and great people.
A great way to see Crete! Beautiful scenery. Our guides were awesome. My 26 yr old daughter and I each got our own quad and wished in hindsight we would have shared one. Our thumbs got tired! Chicken skewer lunch with tomatoes/cukes and fries were also served. Definitely would recommend!

VIP Treatment
Kostas rolls out the red carpet for his guests! Having a luxurious Mercedes van with a table inside to leave our belongings in while we explored was so convenient. He took us to places we wouldn't have known about. We were able to drink fresh water from a local spring and eat the most amazing meal with a beautiful view. He also took us to an alternative cave, which my son really enjoyed, since Zeus was closed. He's a fantastic driver (how he maneuvers his van in such small spaces is a resume worthy skill) and he provides snacks at almost every stop! These aren't your average snacks either. They are homemade by his mom. In addition, he leaves you with parting thank you gifts of his families honey and some tea! I highly recommend his tour. It was fantastic!

Favorite Wine and Olive Oil Tour
My family and I loved this tour. Andreas was so engaging and delightful. The tour started with a stop at an olive oil business where the host was very informative about olive oil in general and the specifics of their manufacturing. The olive oils were very unique and very aromatic and delicious. The two wineries were very interesting and relaxing which included appetizers that were so savory and fresh...and filling, paired perfectly with the wines. Each location was lovely with beautiful views, and though there was never any push to purchase, there definitely no need to, the olive oils and wines spoke for themselves. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this tour...one of our favorites! Thanks Andreas!

100% recommend you book this!
Alex was such a fun tour guide! He took us through the mountains to the family home of Pan De Lis and Maria. There our small group prepared a truly beautiful meal, with the help of Maria, that tasted amazing! As an added bonus we got to feed sheep and learn about some of the history of Crete.

Incredible location
Balos was worth the trip. It was very pretty and such a cool experience for us. I recommend doing something smaller for the boat trip to Balos because the larger less expensive ships arrived around one hour into our experience and Balos immediately felt extremely crowded. Gramvousa was also a very cool experience and the fortress at the top was worth the climb if you have time.

Amazing day in Crete!
Kostas was amazing as a driver and tour guide! In addition to seeing amazing sites and getting tons of information, he also helped us experience the smells of fresh fruit and flowers, the tastes of his countless homemade treats, and the hidden treasures must tourists will never see. His communication before and after the tour was amazing, he even sent us a customized itinerary for our next day where we were exploring alone after the tour was over! Thanks for the hospitality Kostas!

Highly recommended tour to Elafonisi Beach from Chania
I was picked up on time. Our driver and guide were great, I think their names were Marcos and Elena. We first stopped at a shop near Kissamos where they sell local products like honey and olive oil. In the morning and almost the entire bus ride it was raining but by the time we got to Elafonisi it was beautiful summer weather and I had a lot of fun swimming in the sea on October 21st. After that we went to a beautiful restaurant in Elos village, where they had reasonable prices and good food and then we were dropped off at our pickup location. I'd say the time we spent at each stop was just perfect. Highly recommended!

Fantastic day from mountain to sea.
Great guide, great nature, a bit crowded due to rain closures for several days before. Sylvia with Kyriakakis was a great guide, who did a great job of explaining the long journey from mountain to sea. I wish I would have know they rent hiking poles - what a knee saver!
Recommendations: rent hiking poles, eat breakfast at the taverna on the way (but move fast), bring swim suit for the hours between finish of hike and ferry, and bring some Euros of beers at Agios Roumeli. Also, schedule a massage for the day after your hike. Have fun!
