Top Crete Day Trips

We took this tour with Dimitris a couple of weeks ago and it was easily the best tour we were on thru the other islands. Dimitris himself was the most engaging and knowledgeable guide we'd had - he's a veritable walking history book! We learned so much about Cretan history thru the ages (and thru the many occupations), the culture then and now and about the land and the people themselves. It was easy conversation with Dimitris, who is a skilled guide, knowing when to go deeper into a subject and when to let it drift off, gauging the visitors' desire for info (we liked a Lot of info!). We stayed only near Chania, but what we saw of the island was beautiful. Elafonissi is one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever been to. And while the weather was cloudy/rainy in Chania, Nasos, the tour company founder, assured us the weather on the other side of the island near the beach would be fine. Sure enough, it was sunny and warm on the beach! Milla Mountain Retreat is something to see, passing along the gorge and beautiful scenery on the way. The stone houses at Milla are very cool (literally!) and the restaurant has an amazing view. We had a great lunch and Nasos, was there also so meeting him was a pleasure. He even sent us a complimentary dessert and a local after lunch cordial! Very nice touch! We'd highly recommend this tour with Dimitris - you'll get so much more than you expect!

We loved this entire excursion from the easy pickup at a nearby hotel to the entertaining and informative tour guide Nikos to the beautiful views of the Imbros Gorge and the lovely Sfakia beach excursion. We had planned on doing the Samaria Gorge hike however it was closed when we went to Crete but we’re glad we did this tour instead since the hike itself was two hours rather than five. While we hiked, we were able to leave our beach items on the bus. The beach in Sfakia was a lovely beach that blocked the wind, was refreshing after the hike, and had some rocks to climb around on. The driver did an excellent job navigating some winding roads. Overall, this entire experience from start to finish was well worth it!

What an amazing day with our wonderful tour guide Maria. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and personalized our tour for us. The village meal was amazing we couldn’t believe how much food there was. We even got to take home some lemons and oranges from her own personal garden and they were so delicious! Highly recommended. 12/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kostas was amazing as a driver and tour guide! In addition to seeing amazing sites and getting tons of information, he also helped us experience the smells of fresh fruit and flowers, the tastes of his countless homemade treats, and the hidden treasures must tourists will never see. His communication before and after the tour was amazing, he even sent us a customized itinerary for our next day where we were exploring alone after the tour was over! I was picked up on time. Our driver and guide were great, I think their names were Marcos and Elena. We first stopped at a shop near Kissamos where they sell local products like honey and olive oil. In the morning and almost the entire bus ride it was raining but by the time we got to Elafonisi it was beautiful summer weather and I had a lot of fun swimming in the sea on October 21st. After that we went to a beautiful restaurant in Elos village, where they had reasonable prices and good food and then we were dropped off at our pickup location. I'd say the time we spent at each stop was just perfect. Highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful experience from pickup to drop off! Yiannis was an incredible guide for the day and had so much information to share about Crete and Greece from history to culture to food or even favorite restaurants or places to travel. The beach was also incredible with clear blue water and reserved loungers, along with a very nice lunch right at the beachside restaurant. Definitely recommend this!!

Excellent trip one of the best we have ever been on. Communication of where to be and timings were brilliant. Most of all all the tour guides where amazing especially Nicholi our tour guide was so passionate about making us have the best time ever. He was so knowledgeable, charismatic and got us all laughing out loud. The trip itself was a perfect day in exploring the beautiful Cretian way of life. Thanks again to you all xxx

Our guide and driver, Alex, was wonderful. We learned so much about Crete! The family home we visited in the mountains was beautiful. We prepared our food, fed the sheep, drank the wine and ate the delicious meal. Met lovely people. This was a great experience! Thank you.
