Right from the very start at pickup Adrian our guide was wonderful. Adrian was very thorough about the tour and his knowledge. Fab day with the group. Great sense of humour and very friendly. Highly reccomend this tour.

Really enjoyed the excursion. Adrian did an excellent job. Yes, you do lots of paved roads but they are nice country roads up the mountain and back down and you avoid the dust. Insurance options are listed on Viator so it shouldn’t be a surprise. Unless you are planning on going nuts behind the wheel, insurance should not be needed. Great tour, we would do it again.

Pricing demands clarifying. You cant add extra fees afterwards. While making the payment its clearly shown pick up is included. After payment you receive a confirmation where pick up fees are shown.
Also these weird insurance fees are very confusing. As an organizer you need to insure your vehicles. This speech, which most of us didnt even understand, is not legally binding. Dont make this payment.
Ride was mainly on paved roads among cars. On our way back we rode 50km/h with cars. My quad's handlebar was shaking hard. My guess is tyre alingment or loose attachment.
Adrian was laid back chill norwegian. No complaints there.
Off road riding was only around 30 min. Disappointing, it was supposed to be a off road safari.
Price and delivery dont match. Ok afternoon in general if you like driving quads.
Helmets were dirty, clearly no- one wipes them clean after every ride. same with quad's seats. Dirty. Little things, but those give company quality, especially when customers are paying quite a lot.

We were picked up in a dirty van, picked up two other parties, and then taken to what appeared to be a private residence. The opportunity for insurance was presented ($25 or 40 Euros). He then asked each party quietly which insurance they selected, then told us the charge for the pick-up. I overheard what one party was charged ($10 E each) and we were charged more ($35 E each, totaling $70). This seemed ... odd. Then off on our drive.... the scenery was NOT awesome. Beach time was maybe 10 minutes, then through neighborhoods, then up in the mountains. We stopped maybe 1/2 way and we each were given a bottle of water and a cookie. We had to stop to gas up all the quads in town, then progressed through on some roads that seemed like major, busy roads. Driver was on his cell thru most of the tour, with ear buds. No history relayed, no culture. I don't recommend this tour, especially not for what came to about $300 USD.

A fun drive through crete countryside among the olive groves. Not for off road adventure seekers, but more to see crete countryside where you would never drive a car. I would do it again!

Adrian from Beach Bums was wonderful. Super laid back and made for a fantastic day! He showed us all of the sites from the beach to the mountains. Beautiful day and would recommend.

Amazing time! If you need to get a hold of them, best to send a message via their WhatsApp and not through the viator app, they dont respond to that.
But.... totally made up for it with the Tour! Went longer than expected and wished we could have kept going!

Recommend this tour to all, Anthony was a great guide full of energy and knowledge of all the routes. Ride was also provided to and from our hotel in Chania. Overall the tour was amazing and we really enjoyed our time!

Beautiful scenery, with travel on multiple terrains. Great guide with plenty of knowledge about the area. Only one stop with no restroom so be sure to go before hand and bring water.

Adrian was an absolute pleasure. Great knowledge of the area, incredible vibes, and one of the best people to talk to. The man understands world culture more than anyone I've met with great perspectives on many different topics. Super laid back and knows how to make sure everyone is having a good time! The ATV/Buggys were fun going faster in open areas and slower in the mountains to allow you to take in this once in a lifetime atmosphere. Would highly recommend this tour and to do it with Adrian!!

I joined the Quad and Buggy Safari tour departing from Platanias, Chania on 22 May 2026. The event was organised by a group of young people who were friendly and enthusiastic throughout the trip. Regrettably, the overall arrangement and service fell far short of expectations, with several unreasonable issues I would like to point out in detail.
Firstly, there was a serious lack of transparency in fees. The tour was booked via Viator, and the official description clearly stated that transportation service was included in the tour price. No extra charge for transfer was mentioned anywhere during the booking process. However, after I completed payment and confirmed my participation, the organiser suddenly asked every participant to pay an additional 15 euros as a transport fee. Charging extra fees after full payment is misleading and unfair to all guests.
Secondly, we were required to sign an indemnity form on site right before the tour started, which was never notified in advance. The document stated that participants would be liable for any damage caused to the vehicles. The organiser then offered two optional payment plans for so-called damage coverage, yet all rules and charges were only explained verbally without any written notice. If we paid 25 euros, the maximum compensation for vehicle damage would be 500 euros. If we paid 40 euros, we would be fully exempted from all compensation liabilities no matter how severely the vehicle was damaged.
This is not formal insurance at all. All compensation standards and rules were set arbitrarily by the organiser. Having no choice at the last minute, participants were forced to pick one option reluctantly. From my past experience of joining numerous ATV and buggy tours, an indemnity form normally only clarifies that the organiser takes no responsibility for participants’ personal injuries. It is extremely unprofessional to set up arbitrary vehicle damage charges on the spot.
Thirdly, the rest stop arrangement was poorly planned. The tour lasted for 3 hours in total, with a 30-minute break arranged halfway. We were simply told to park our vehicles on a random roadside on the hillside. This spot had no scenic views or tourist attractions. The guide did not introduce any local sights or share travel information during the break; we just stayed idle in the sun for half an hour. This meaningless break wasted valuable tour time.
Last but not least, the tour schedule was disrupted by an unexpected refuelling stop. During the official safari session, the whole team was led to a petrol station to refuel all quads and buggies, which took around 20 minutes. In standard safari tours, vehicle refuelling, inspection and maintenance should all be completed before or after the activity, instead of occupying the official touring time. This arrangement only served the organiser’s convenience but compromised the experience of all participants.
To sum up, while the organising team were passionate and polite, the tour suffered from opaque fees, unclear liability clauses, unreasonable schedule and sloppy on-site arrangements. I hope the organiser can improve their service standards, fully disclose all charges and terms in advance, and optimise the tour itinerary for future guests.

We were picked up at the cruise port. Taken to the site for the 4 x 4 wheeler. We drove down around the water, then headed up the the hills overlooking the olive tree farms. . We stopped at the top for a break, then headed back. The Guide stopped in town with all the four wheelers to fill up with gas, then headed back to the location to drop them off. Then we were taken back to the cruise ship.

So much fun. We rode together in tandem on one ATV. Beautiful views. We really enjoyed this excursion and the terrain was not too tough. Only problem is that Viator listing had the wrong meeting time and it did not mention the 20 Euro transfer fee per person to/from the cruise terminal. Also, it would be nice if they provided water. We did get a cookie. Thankfully, we brought our own water and snacks. We would recommend this excursion/tour.

We were picked up promptly from the cruise ship terminal and returned with plenty of time, which we appreciated. During our Safari ATV four-wheeler tour, however, our vehicle broke down. To his credit, Anthony—the owner and tour guide—responded quickly and replaced the ATV so we could continue.
That said, even before the breakdown, the brakes felt extremely soft, which was concerning and could have led to a more serious issue. It seemed like the vehicles may not have been thoroughly checked before the tour began.
The tour itself is about 80% on paved roads and 20% on dirt trails. Overall, we would have given this experience four stars if not for the mechanical issues with the ATVs.
Regarding insurance, there was no pressure to purchase it, but the options were only explained upon arrival. You can pay €25 to reduce your liability to €500 in case of damage, or €40 for full coverage with no out-of-pocket cost.

Anthony made our tour absolutely unforgettable! The whole experience was so much fun, from riding through incredible terrain to taking in the most breathtaking views. Everything was well-organized, and Anthony was beyond helpful and friendly the entire time, making sure we felt comfortable and had the best experience possible. This is so much fun! I booked this tour with a friend and we both had a blast. The quads are very easy to navigate, and the guide gives you options for insurance if you have a fear of crashing before hand. Luckily they are very easy to maneuver.
This tour probably isn’t the best if you have a fear of heights, as you really go up the mountain with some very narrow roads. The guide was very friendly and ensured we knew what we were doing before we began. We would recommend doing this with friends, maybe not young children.

My hubby n I had a blast!! Exhilarating and fun!! Our guide led us through dusty tosds n paved roads so bring plastic bags for your shoes!! Also bring swim or snow goggles to keep dust from eyes. It was the best!

What an adventure! The ATV tour in Chania was such a blast—bumpy trails, gorgeous mountain views, and plenty of dust and laughs along the way. Our guide kept it fun and safe, while sharing local stories. Riding through the countryside with the sea in the distance was unforgettable. If you’re looking for something active, exciting, and a little different from the usual sightseeing, this is a must-do!

Excellent excursion! For cruise passengers, it is an excellent choice! Beach Bums will pick you up and drop you off at the port. Well worth the money! 3 hours of driving on different terrains with beautiful sights! I do not recommend this for novice drivers. It's a long excursion with 2 short breaks. Adrian was the best guide and very patient. Highly recommend!

Adrian was a great guide. We really were able to see the countryside of Crete from the mountains, the olive groves, the seaside, and small towns in between. The ATV ride itself was a bit challenging navigating some of the rocky dirt roads, but nothing the average person can’t handle. Also, we had just a gorgeous weather day which made the journey extremely enjoyable!

We had confirmation for 7 single passengers. after pick up (pick up was difficult) and paper work and extra charges were paid for we were told we added an other person and there was not enough quads for our group. quads were in poor condition, mine broke down after difficulty going the spead limit. l felt we should have at least one person refunded.

We are grateful for feedback to our company, as we take pride in who we are and what we do. We would like to make it clear that many of these disputes are false and made by a very challenging client who clearly finds pleasure in defacing companies. If you are one of these people we would rather you do not book an experience with us.
Our staff are hard working and polite and do not deserve mistreatment from rude ungrateful individuals.
From the start of this experience where she states that the pick up was difficult. The owner personally collected them from the port. He was the only van parked right in front of the exit of the boat. The collection was at 9:00am. The client was called at 9:01 and at 9:05 and did not answer her phone. If it is difficult to answer your phone that is out of our power to help. Client departed from the port at 9:06am, as someone in the group had used some common sense to walk to the only van waiting in front of the ferry.
We would also like to clear that there was no extra charges. This comment was made for fee of the collection from the port which is located 40min drive away from our start location. This was confirmed by a Viator employee over the phone with the owner before the booking was made. It was also accepted by the client.
On behalf of the ‘quad short’. We did have a quad that went to the mechanic the day before. Our guide happily offered his quad to one of the individuals in their group, who drove in the front and the guide directed him. He was happy to be the front quad and did not have a problem with that.
Where she states a quad ‘broke down’ she means cut-out, which all machines do. A simple press of the button and the quad restarted.
This lady further went on to judge the owner about his choice in clothing.
After our guide trying his best all day to please her. While extra happily dropping half of their group in a separate city. He received hate comments only from this individual.
She clearly has a lot of anger held in her due to something out of our control. The rest of the group complemented the guide for a good day.
This individual decided after all the efforts that our team provided to give us a one star review.
This is clearly an act of a troll and this comment should be removed.

We are a family of five, two adults and three teenagers. We absolutely loved the quad bike tour. Adrian our guide was brilliant and made it very special for all of us. The views are stunning and it was without a doubt one of the highlights of our holiday.
