Our journey continued to the Agarathos Monastery, a breathtakingly peaceful sanctuary filled with vibrant flowering plants and trees—a perfect moment of serenity. We then visited Kleanthi Olive Farm for a fascinating tour of the groves and the press. The visit concluded with a delicious lunch featuring various olive oils, fresh bread, fruit, local cheese, and some truly insanely good preserved figs. By the time we returned to Knossos in the afternoon, the crowds had vanished. We were able to experience the ancient site in peace, exactly as it should be seen, before an easy return to the ship. Dimitris was incredibly easy-going and never pressed us for time; his genuine priority was ensuring we experienced the natural beauty and spirit of Crete. This was a masterclass in private touring.
