If you’ve always wanted to learn to scuba dive, Crete is a great place to turn your dream into reality. During this three-hour introductory course you’ll start by learning the theory of diving and how to use the gear. Then, you can enjoy a dive for a maximum of 45 minutes. Our two instructors for a family of three was the perfect ratio. Transport to and from the cruise port was simple and on time. The experience had a clear understanding of simple pricing safety (we had dove before) and both were personable and easy to communicate with. We had a great time and our daughter was able to scuba for the first time confidently.

Scuba fun for beginners

I want to start by saying that we had a fabulous time and that we were really well taken care of by our instructors the entire time - they were both wonderful! We did this in the beginning of October and the water was clear and warm and the dive locations were gorgeous! But if you think this is going to be Mickey Mouse scuba like at the Great Barrier Rief where they lower you on a platform and give you a rope to avoid compression issues - nope, this is the real deal. You will be suited up, asked to dive backwards in your gear off the boat, and then your instructor will help you lower to the sea floor about 10 meters deep, where you will do "skills" exercises, before starting to explore the dive. We felt totally safe the whole time and our instructors were always right by our sides, literally holding my hand most of the time. It was awesome but it was also very real and a couple of folks in our group had some panic jitters in the beginning. I think our dive was about half an hour which was just long enough to be able to get used to and enjoy being under water. After, we were taken to a different gorgeous place for another hour of snorkeling. We were also picked up and taken back to our BnB. We're really grateful for the whole experience and are super impressed with the professionalism of the entire team! So that there's no confusion, this trip is paired with the people who are getting certified but you don't get certified unless you do their full 3 day course and pass the test, so don't book this thinking you're going to get a short cut scuba certification ;).

We had a cruise ship stop in Chania, and I booked this for my husband and son (I am already scuba certified) because they wanted to see if they liked scuba diving enough to want to get certified. This tour company picked them right up from the dock where our cruise ship docked and returned them too. My son and husband had a fabulous time, and my 18 year old son said it was his favorite tour/adventure that we did on this trip to Italy/Greece. Highly recommend.

Our family of 4, inclusive of 2 teenagers, really enjoyed this excursion since our kids had never been scuba diving. Joana, our instructor, took pictures of our experience. I wished we would have seen more sea life, but it wasn’t the case.

Great experience. Picked up from our airbnb rental (slightly late but that didn't matter to us, we were contacted to say pick up would be late, that was the main thing). Kitted out properly. Very clear instructions during briefing from Dimitri. Driven to the beach, tanks on & off we went. My 2 sons & I had never done this before so it was a brand new & amazing experience for all of us. I'd say the half hour was just about right, for a taster session. You don't need to be a good swimmer at all (which I'm not), just comfortable in water. Overall I'd strongly recommend this to anyone. Oh & the photos taken by Giannis were a really nice touch.
