This was such a wonderful day! Wendy, our leader, was personable, well-spoken and had so much knowledge about chocolate and wine. Her assistant, Yani, was quiet but sweet. They made a great team and the experience was organized extremely well. My husband and my parents had a fantastic time and got to eat some delicious chocolate and taste excellent wine. Highly recommend!

It was interesting, educational, a nice variety of chocolate. She was very knowledgable.
There was an absence of personal connection with the group.

We had such a great time! Wendy was informative, fun, and professional! What a great introduction to the history of the Yucatán and people. Her personal experiences added so much to the history as well.

Lucy was friendly and knowledgeable! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with her! We found out there is a lot we didn’t know about chocolate and wine.

I appreciate your positive review, especially since I was the one who came up with the idea of creating a Chocolate Workshop. I had seen a presentation in Miami by a famous chef on the processing of chocolate and realizing that the Mayans had discovered this process thought it should be made into an informative "tour". (The Mayans never figured out, like the Swiss, to add milk to their formula. Likely due to their not having COWS!) It was also later at a dinner party where I was having a chocolate brownie for dessert with some leftover red wine, that I discovered how well the two went together. Again, I love that you enjoyed the experience!

Most folks when visiting Cozumel tend to lean towards booking beach/water related tours. This one was out of the norm and surprisingly enjoyable. We had a small audience with a pleasant and very informative instructor named Wendy. First, she provided us with a detailed step by step in making chocolate from scratch, and gave us a thorough background on its origination. Afterwards we actually got to make chocolate, and while it was being cooled, we got to experience matching and tasting different chocolates with more than one kind of wine. The whole experience just needed a bit more of spicing up a bit, otherwise, I would recommend it.

I am so glad I did this tour at Stingray beach at Cozumel. I had 5 adults and 2 children in my party when I booked the chocolate workshop and wine tasting tour, someone from the tour contacted me to tell me that children are not allowed because of the alcohol they serve but offered us the chocolate and pinata tour. Before I took up the new tour offered, they offered us a private tour for just my group for the chocolate and wine tasting at no additional cost. My group was the only people in the tour. Vanessa and Jasna were amazing. Vanessa started with explaining the history of chocolate and then went step by step with chocolate making and then pairing wine with chocolate. I was so glad to have my 3 yr old make chocolate with me. He enjoyed it thoroughly. When the 1.5 yr old in our party wanted some milk, Jasna made chocolate milk for which he cherished. Overall, it was an amazing experience. The room in which the tour is conducted is air conditioned, welcome relief from the heat and has beautiful views of the beach.

What a great activity for our group! There were 5 of us and not only was it a fun event, it was educational and the energy in the room was fantastic. Would definitely recommend you take some time out of your vacation and book a seaside chocolate and wine day! :)

We learned so much! Wendy was wonderful, taught with clarity and humour. The whole experience was wonderful, start to finish!

Wendy did a great job presenting. Very educational and enjoyable experience. Staff members were very helpful and made it a memorable experience. Lots of wine and we liked being able to take home the chocolate we made. Easy to get to facility from the cruise port. Staff helped flag down a taxi for our return trip to the port. Based on videos and pictures, I was expecting more out of Stingray Beach itself (reason for 4 rating). It was much smaller and more consolidated areas for water activities. We were told we could visit the grounds during our visit. When we got there we were told we could not walk down near the water.

We’ve been coming to Cozumel for well over 10 years and always look for new adventures. Wine and chocolate, what can go wrong?? Loved Wendy’s enthusiasm and love for what she’s doing. Great job!!!

Lucy was awesome, explaining the history of chocolate in Mayan culture, then teaching us as we made our own chocolate bar. We started with a yummy refreshing chocolate martini, then ended the 2 1/2 hrs with delicious wine & chocolate pairing! The venue was a beautiful air conditioned building right on Stingray Beach with a gorgeous view! Highly recommend this activity!

We had a great time, making the chocolate and then doing the chocolate and wine pairing. Lucy and Wendy made the whole experience. A lot of fun. They have a beautiful, air-conditioned location and we truly enjoyed the experience. We highly recommend this activity.

Easy location to take a taxi to! Very educational and super fun, even our teenage daughter liked it! The wine tasting was good, the chocolates were excellent and the instructor was great!

This is one of the best excursions we have ever done on a cruise. We booked it directly with Viator. Lots of fun and very knowledgeable guides. Both the wine and the chocolates were great. Highly recommended

We had an incredible time! We learned so much about chocolate and the history of its making while enjoying good wine paired with delicious chocolate. Wendy was so knowledgeable and entertaining. You will not be disappointed. We loved it AND got to make our own chocolate to take home.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop! Wendy has such a beautiful spirit about her and her passion for chocolate is evident. She gave us the perfect mix of the history of chocolate making and significance in the Mayan culture. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in chocolate and how to pair chocolate with wine.

My husband and I had the most delightful time with Wendy learning all about chocolate! She was so personable and engaging and really knows her topic. My husband had been unsure about taking the class, but left raving about how wonderful Wendy and the class was. Thanks!
Dawn_S, Apr 2022
Wendy was so much fun to learn from! The workshop, chocolate making and wine pairing was just what we needed to kick off our birthday celebration day! Wendy was incredibly knowledgeable on all topics. We will be back.
Deb_L, Mar 2022
Tour guide Wendy was very informative and a pleasure to listen to. It was fun making the cocoa from the nut to paste.

Fairly small group (7 total) that made it very personal & intimate of a tour. We learned a lot of the history of cocoa & the process used, etc. loved their photographer who took great angeled shots & professional looks throughout the whole process. Their flavors were amazing & the vanilla honey was something I could not leave without!!

If you are a chocolate lover you will love learning about the chocolate history and tasting the most delicious and unique chocolate. You also get to do your own chocolate to make hot cocoa.
