This is a great way to spend an afternoon! Very informative, very interesting, and very tasty.
Paty was a fantastic hostess.

Informative and Eduardo was a great tour guide! Great fun making our own chocolate! We don't drink but would have loved to take the margarita class with it. Highly recommended. You will need a cab ride from the cruise ports.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
We'll pass it along to Eduardo, thanks for visiting!

The chocolate workshop was so much fun. Our tour guide, Angel, did a fantastic job translating in both English and Spanish, making sure everyone understood and felt included. He was very informative and made the experience even more enjoyable. This is a great activity for couples and families with kids. Even if you don’t have transportation afterward, they help by flagging a taxi to make sure you get back safely. Overall, a wonderful experience I highly recommend.

Our guide Pati taught us about the history of cacao and led us in a Mayan chocolate making excursion. We ground and seasoned the beans to come up with a personalized take-home chocolate disk that can be used as the ancients did or in more modern ways like on ice cream. Their speciality chocolate samples were delicious, and I particularly liked (and bought) the cranberry, almond, and grape milk chocolate bars. The one drawback to the excursion is that we had to take a taxi to and from the facility - don't pay more than $20 for the taxi rides! Thank you Pati for a great experience!

Our guide Paty was excellent. The experience began with a short video and Paty also gave us a concise history about chocolate. Best part was experiencing making chocolate the way the Mayans did; grinding the Cacao and adding ingredients such as honey to flavor it. We left with our own self made chocolate and our kids had a blast.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thanks for the review, we'll let Paty know about it.

A wonderful place to make your own chocolate bar with organic products.
Eduardo was a fantastic personable host that showed us how to create our chocolate bar and then taught us how to create our chocolate margaritas which we enjoyed afterwards. Mmmmmm!
We all went to their store to sample 16 different chocolate bars so of course we would find a favorite to purchase. Gift items large selection so we found additional gifts to take home. All wrapped ready for luggage trip home.

Eduardo is one of the best, we're happy to know you had a great time with us.

My wife and I had so much fun learning to make chocolate. And it’s only an hour which makes it an easy thing to do and still have plenty of time left for beach and chill: This is a very touristy experience. So it’s only fun if you allow yourself to go with the schtick of it all. Put on the chef’s hat, laugh at the amazing guides chocolate jokes and in the end you will delight in having made your own chocolate to take home.

thanks for the positive review, next time try the Margarita Tour (Chocolate margarita of course).

My parents and I were on a cruise and found that there weren't any excursions they offered that we wanted to do so when I found this on Viator we thought this workshop would be a great way to spend a couple of hours of our time in Cozumel and we were not disappointed. Our guide Patty was wonderful. First we were given a history of Mayan Cocoa which contained many interesting facts then we had the opportunity to taste freshly made corn tortillas before moving on the the making of Chocolate. It was hard work using the Mortar and Pestle but lots of fun. We had a great time. My Mom told me that my Dad has come home and already tried to make his own chocolate.

Thanks for sharing you experience and how much you enjoyed the tour.
We´ll make sure to pass along the good review to Patty.

My family and I booked this tour primarily for our children. I’m pretty sure they love chocolate more than my wife and I. Overall, the tour was very informative and interactive. The entire family learned a ton about Mayan culture, Cocoa, and the local vegetation. The chocolate workshop, itself, was great experience and a bit of arm workout. My daughters are ages 8 & 12, and they both seemed to really enjoy it. Lastly, I thought the chocolate was great, but my children seemed to be hypnotized by American milk chocolate! We definitely recommend for families and groups.

Thanks for sharing your positive review with us, we really do our best to provide experiences like the one you and your lovely family received.
Next time you stop by, try the Chocolate Margarita Tour ;)

Tour was very informative. We certainly learned a lot, but the movie room and chocolate making room were uncomfortably hot - need better air conditioning. Also, we were under the impression that we would be able to adjust flavors to our chocolate, but this wasn't the case and I couldn't keep the instructor from adding 3 scoops of cinnamon to my chocolate mix despite telling him I don't care for cinnamon. I ended up throwing away half of the chocolate I made because it tasted too much of cinnamon (big surprise)

Paty was our tour guide. She was very informative and had a lot to say about the Mayans culture. We also got to see different birds and plans, which was fun and unexpected. We had a great time learning the history and use of cacao beans and chocolate in early civilization. And loved getting to make chocolate ourselves and the process and what good it has!
