Overview

Take a deep dive into Chicago's food scene on a small-group walking tour. Head for several of the city's most-notable eateries, including Billy Goat Tavern, known for its "cheezborger," Pizzeria Uno, birthplace of Chicago’s legendary deep-dish pies; and Al’s Beef, a favorite since 1938. Along the way, hear about the friendly rivalry with New York's pizza scene, Chicago's meatpacking roots, 1920s speakeasies, gangsters, and more.

Interesting stories along...

Interesting stories along the tour. Highlighted foods Chicago known for - could have allowed for a little longer at the food stops.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for your feedback! We’re so glad you enjoyed the stories shared along the tour and the chance to experience some of Chicago’s most iconic foods. We appreciate your suggestion about allowing more time at the food stops. This is valuable insight, and we’ll certainly take it into consideration as we continue to improve the experience. We hope to welcome you back again for another tour soon!

Good eats!!

Traci_C, Aug 2025
Nice tour. Make sure you have your walking shoes because there’s a lot of walking but worth it. Our tour guide was very informative with Chicago history. The food stops were of good food and inexpensive. Only downfall was not being able to taste deep dish pizza but we did get a coupon for later. Overall good experience.
