After greeting your instructor at the Carcavelos Surf School on Praia de Cacavelos, you’ll receive a modern surfboard and wetsuit. Listen to a short safety briefing and then plunge into learning the basic techniques of surfing.
On the sand, you’ll master pushing yourself up off of your board and will perfect your surfing stance. Throughout the lesson, feel free to ask your Portuguese Surfing Federation-accredited instructor for helpful tips.
Then, once you feel confident, take to the water and attempt to ride the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Throughout your lesson feel free to revitalize on shaded sun loungers before returning to the water.

Wow, great fun! Shame the adults were not as good as the kids learning to surf but great lesson including the warm up burpees

We had an amazing experience taking this surf lesson. It was our first time surfing and our instructor took great care of teaching us the basics and then helping us in the water. We even managed to get up a couple of times. The group wasn't too big, but since there were only three of us who hadn't surfed before one instructor took the larger part of the group who had surfed before and the other taught just us three which was really helpful and thoughtful. The gear provided was also awesome. And the price for the experience we got was nothing. Definitely recommend this surf lesson on the stunning Carcavelos beach if you're ever in Lisbon.

It would help to get better directions for how to find them at the beach as the address is the whole beach so we wasted time running around trying to find them! We also wish we knew the time of the lesson before 24 hrs as we were on the plane when we got assigned our time & that time was not convenient! It says when you sign up 10, 12 or 3 so we assumed we could pick & show up. Then they texted us 24 hrs before the lesson (on the plane with limited service) to say we were assigned at 11. It made it hard being "lost" at the beach & running to squeeze it in. They gave us a bit of a hard time at the desk for being a little late (for the above mentioned reasons) which were all because of them. The teacher at the beach however was awesome!!! Soo much fun! They could improve their address & exact location & let you pick a time and it would be perfect!!!

Great experience and great price. Our instructor was great and kept a great balance of wanting us to have fun and succeed. Neither my friend nor I had ever surfed before, and we both got up! The group was small, only 3 of us, so we were able to get one on one attention and instruction. Highly recommend!
