We booked pick up at 8:30 but were told to go to a meeting point for 8am at 11:30pm the night before. We did and then waited for around half an hour before going to pick up various people from the Bocagrande area. We didn't leave Cartagena itself until 9:30am. Then we went to the mud volcano which was quite hectic but interesting. We washed off in the lake - we did it ourselves but there were ladies to help you if you wanted to tip etc. Then we went for lunch which was fine but then we had 2 hours at the pool/beach. This was not written about in the itinerary and whilst it was a nice enough location, it added a lot of time that we weren't expecting. I had checked with the guide and the communication on whatsapp the day before that we would be back by 2:30pm as I had a 3pm appointment. I was assured that we would be back but then we didn't end up getting back till 3:30pm and we were dropped off on the side of the road and not back at the meeting point because they wanted to drop all the Bocagrande groups first which would have made us even later. It could be a good tour but better communication is necessary and it should not be titled as a half day experience.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! Please save yourself some time. I booked the mud bath with them and my hotel (Dreams Karibana) was one of the pick up locations listen on their page. About 10 minutes after booking, I received a message on WhatsApp stating that I will need to meet the driver at a mall that is 10 minutes away. I explained to the person that I booked and chose the option to be picked up and dropped off at my hotel. The person then replied that they understand, but my hotel is out of their zone. (So why did you list my hotel as an approved pick up location?) I asked the person to cancel the booking. I asked for the booking to be cancelled. The person replied that they can pick me up from my hotel, but they will not be able to drop me back off. They states that it would be complicated for them. I explained that I am a female solo traveler that does not speak Spanish and asked to cancel the booking. They replied yes. About 15 minutes later I received another message from a new number stating that they will be picking me up from my hotel at 8:30. I explained to this random person that I asked to have the booking cancelled. The woman explained that she is a coordinator. I let her know that I don’t feel comfortable because I don’t even know who she is. All in all, my booking was never cancelled so I was never refunded even after asking multiple times. Very unprofessional SHADY company! Avoid!

It was fun but not for the faint hearted. The mid pit is not large and if you are taking the massage option you do not have any space and we felt very crowded and overwhelmed.
Rinsing in the lake afterward, you only got knee deep so it was necessary to kneel in the silt.
Having been to mud baths in other countries I was disappointed.
The lunch was nice but we didn’t want to ‘laze by the pool’ at the location so opted to take a taxi back to our hotel. This part of the trip was an unnecessary extra.

The mud experience was interesting yet fun. Although I booked a half day excursion, it ended up as a full day excursion. I was ok with it because I didn’t have any solid plans later in the afternoon, but if I had plans this would have been a problem.

AMAZING experience. You must go ! The people are very friendly! Food was great. The bus ride was so much fun.

I hate writing bad reviews, but this experience was terrible and not worth the time and money. To start, this was not a half day tour it was all day. It started at 8 and ended at 430. There was also no hotel pick up or drop off as stated. For around 4 hours, we went to this almost abandoned resort to sit at the pool. I do not know why we did this as it was not stated when I booked it.
Then we finally went to the mud. The guide told us people may offer us a massage for 5000 pesos. I didnt want one and said no numerous times to the people in the volcano. Two guys still gave me a massage numerous times after saying “no gracias” and they still did it anyway. I felt extremely taken advantage of as a solo traveling girl knowing little spanish. The guide did not come with us up to the volcano and no one else spoke english so there was no escaping as it was extremely hard to move in the mud. Then after, we washed off in the lake and a lady told me to get naked. I was no comfortable with it, but she still touched me everywhere.
I can honestly say this was a terrible experience and i would not recommend to anyone, especially women traveling alone.

The tour guide was excellent
We hung out at the beach club
For couple of hours and they served us breakfast/lunch and non alcoholic drinks. We headed to the volcano around 1 o lock and there were no lines
Overall good day, would definitely recommend this tour

The mud volcano was very cool but I'd do this experience with a different company. We wondered why they didn't have completely good reviews and we should have gone with our gut. We submitted our phone number correctly but they wrote it down wrong and therefore didn't come to pick us up because they "tried to contact us" and we didn't answer. No, you copied our phone number incorrectly and then didn't try ANYTHING to remedy it (they could have checked the form, called our hotel, ran up to our hotel that we were sitting outside of the entire time waiting for them). We then had to pay for an Uber to find them and they refused to refund us that cost even though it was their fault. We do NOT recommend this company and frankly, Viator did not fight for us at all on our behalf. Also the beach experience was cool but way too long.

Our guide Yulianna was very fun, easy to talk to, and on time. We spent a good amount of time at the volcano. It wasn’t rushed at all which I loved, and there was no line to get in. I also especially loved the food we ate at for lunch. Highly recommend this half day trip!

The two stops at the "museum" (two rooms) in a deserted town. And the "pink" lake (not pink at all, but they told us this once we were on our way) should be totally eliminated. Just go straight to the mud baths.
We were "dropped" off at the restaurant for lunch. No one from the tour company accompanied us in. No one at the restaurant spoke English. Thank goodness, a kind restaurant patron spoke Spanish and English. They came to our rescue and communicated with the restaurant Staff to get us drinks and a meal. The tour company came back after we were done and sitting around chatting and picked us up to take us back to our hotel. Overall, I would say, not at all worth the money.

Nice trip to mud volcano. A bit funny but overall fun activity. Especially to see the locals organized and involved in different activities from providing you with lockers, photo shooting with your camera/phone to kind of a massage in mud pool and the scrubbing you in the nearby lagoon. They collect all the tips together in
One plastic bag so you don’t have to worry about tipping everyone individually.
On the way we stopped in a small village with a museum related to exploiting salt from the sea. Also being able to see kind of pink color of the sea. All in all, a fun activity.

Very fun experience!!! Make sure you bring a towel and an extra set of clothes.
The bus is a little small, so big guys beware ..

The day we went, the taxi drivers went on strike. We were just about to cancel when the managers came to our hotel to pick us up and take us to the bus themselves. That alone showed us that they value their clients' time. The experience was AMAZING. The people there were extremely helpful. One guy even gave me his shoes because he heard me say my feet were hot. At the end, everyone is a bit pushy when it comes to getting tips. But overall, the experience was definitley worth it. My suggestion, dont go off of people's opinions. Try it for yourself. We were close to changing our minds after reading a blog online but very happy we went. P.s, they have lockers with keys if you are wondering where to put your things. And you CAN trust the person you give your phone to. The pictures they took of us were pretty decent. My husband and I would definitely do this again.

It was an amazing experience out of this world. You emerge in the mud and feel your body being renewed minute by minute. Totally recommend it.
