Horrible and dangerous!

It's such a scam.Total waste of time and money. Be prepared to spend almost 12 hours in a bus with no leg room.Watch weather before you go there but it's mostly irrelevant because if you bought it ,you stuck! Nobody will give you back your money even It's flood and hurricane going. We got in the middle of tropical storm and drove there almost 6 hrs under pouring rain to get there and the same amount of time to return back to our hotel. After arrival to the place we found dirty water with garbage floating around. Nobody in a healthy mind will enter in the opened water after tropical rain due to unsanitary and dangerously dirty water condition. By CDC regulations you must stay away from lakes and rivers least for 24 hrs up to 72hrs after big rain due to contaminants washed down in a opened waters and can make you sick or even kill you depends on bacteria. But tour guide strongly encouraged people to go and swim while staying away from it on a shore byself. Very clear but not for tour people.....ha ha,they very gridy and don't want to listen any safety concerns... By the way,after multiple discussions with tour operator about unsatisfactory tour conditions,nobody bother to accommodate us,reschedule tour,give us credit or return our money.We wasted total of $300 and 16 hours of our all inclusive vacation time. People should be very careful to deal with local tour companies,they focused on how to pull out your money and run....Viator did not care much too. Nobody responsible for anything and nobody cares to do somehow acceptable job. Scammers,they lie to people with no sense of sanity. Food is terrible,by the way,too. 2 cups of cold cheep cofee will cost you $16. Never ever again and its dangerous !!! I have pictures from this trip but can't attach it due to no options offered.I am happy to provide it by request!People,stay away!

We hope you are well, responding to your comment, unfortunately we do not have control over weather issues, since each traveler is responsible for what day they want to take the tour if the weather has been displayed in advance, however there is a record that it was the traveler who has requested to change the date of the tour, even knowing the weather conditions on those days, normally Viator policies do not allow changes to take the service before the date that was reserved, but it was done anyway. The travel hours from Cancun to Bacalar are fixed, the travel time is variable (if there are accidents on the road or rain that cause speed reduction) and in addition the traveler must take into account where they are traveling and the distances between a place and another because it is the traveler who decides if this worth it or not. We're sorry you had a bad experience, but weather conditions are external to what the tour itself offers.
