Amazing activity. We were picked up on time and taken to the activity point. There were 7 of us- my parents were given a 2-person quad bike as requested which was great as my mum did not feel confident driving. The rest of us had our own bikes. Some guys from the company accompanied us on the trip to show us where to go and take fantastic photos in front of the Pyramids (excellent view of all 3x pyramids from the back). The activity providers were very friendly and helpful. My family thoroughly enjoyed the experience of quad biking in the desert with a great view of the Pyramids in front of us. Would definitely recommend.

The tour guide and the boys that were guiding us on the quad bikes were attentive and made sure we were good. The service from them was good and they did what they could despite the conditions. However, this activity is not safe at all. No first aid, no running water (taps that work), we were not given helmets and the bikes were extremely old to the point that my brakes were not working properly and we were on the road. If you plan to do this activity with minors or first timers, forget about it. Especially if you don’t have any medical insurance. I’ve read that people have left with broken bones. It is not worth it or worth a head injury (which one of the minors left with). There was an incident with a minor which they tried to deal with appropriately thanks to the tour guide and the boys. We were provided with tissue and water as this was all they can do. Only go for this activity at your own risk. Oh and the old man who was smoking cigs by the bikes was really rude and unprofessional. I don’t know who set him off but all this man was doing was barking and waving his hands around from the moment we arrived like a mad man.

Overall it was good, from the driver that took us there to the people who run the quads business and took us for the ride. The only “but” for us was that we didn’t really drive for an hour but like 30-40 minutes in a very short runway. Just a go and back to the same place with couple of stops for pictures.

We had a wonderful esperience with the Emo Tours guys. They picked up us from the hotel at 6 am and drove to their quads garage. Having a ride on the dines with the sun raising was priceless..... Worst day in my life, broken pelvic bone.

The worst day in my life. No helmet, no safety brief and mechanically faulty vehicle, ending in broken pelvic bone of my fiancé and I lifetime mental trauma for me. We will take legal action so we can prevent this to happen to anyone else. Think again before you book anything with these crooks that will push you do anything for money without caring in any way for your well-being. Didn’t even call ambulance and report it to the police or anyone! Avoid at all cost

WARNING ⚠️ Dangerous and Scam!

Booked a 2 hour trip. Started well with the pickup. Took a while to prepare the quads that were in VERY bad shape (no lights, broken handles, no gears). We started the trip through a dumpster, next to a dead dog, horse dumps and some burning trash. We finally enter the desert, far away from the pyramids (do not expect to enter the complex, you see them from far). After 1 hour and 2 long stops we start returning. The guides give their quad to someone else and we are left stranded. When I tell them we have 2 hours, they started calling the agency, gets dark, we have no lights. After some wait and discussion we agree to come back and request a refund. Back in the place they ask you for a tip (incredible!). When back home I requested a 50% discount which was rejected claiming that they will only refund 30. Well, this is a lost battle!, I go for the 30%. Viator finally contacts me to tell me that the operator never approved the refund. Overall, bad experience, dangerous and not worth the money. They ruined a great day. Based on all what I have told, I'm surprised that they have so many good reviews... bought them? Was a different tour and they changed the description? Who knows? Please be aware. Do not expect any quality quad, they are completely destroyed. And you might get scammed as I did! Cheers!

Major red flags

The ride in the desert was fun and we got tons of good photos, but there are definitely a number of red flags. - We paid for an hour trip but only got 40 mins on the bikes - After about 30 minutes into the ride, the guide with my wife started asking for a tip. Saying he makes money with tips and that he would like the tip now so he can take us back. Almost a threatening request. We offered 50 but he declined and said he wanted at least 200 pounds. - We came across some Sudanese travellers and the guide treated them horribly. - The drivers tried to take us to the stores to buy gifts (I’m sure they were trying to make a cut of money) but we strongly said no - The quad bike tour starts in a run down area and you have to drive 10 minutes to the dessert. The drive is very dirty with horse poop and stray animals everywhere with a lot of rubbish - The bikes worked but we went through some patches where they had to stop and check on the engines to make sure they weren’t going to stop with us on them - The quad biking you can’t do alone, there will always be a guide sitting on the bike with you. It can get pretty uncomfortable for women. We saw one guide that was sitting right behind a women and driving the bike for her, looked uncomfortable.

Excellent couple of hours spent around the village and dunes by the pyramids. We went at 11am, hot but breeze from the speeding along. Bring a headscarf, sunglasses and water. I struggled a bit with the steering so Ahmed sat with me to ensure I was safe but still had a great experience. Would definitely recommend!

The only possitive thing about this activity was the driving experience into the desert and the view of Pyramids. However, the ATVs were too old (at least 20 years) and in very bad condition (broken lights, damaged exterior, defective brakes, crooked steering wheel). Also from the starting point till the entrance of the desert we passed by roads with tones of garbage and DEAD horses (!!!!). The owner of the ATVs (refered as instructor) at the end asked for a tip (that is optional) and he was disappointed by the amount of it. Also we were forced to pay for 2 scarfes 600 pounds (!!!!), something that it wasn't mentioned nowhere.

Unsafe and terrifying

Quad bikes were all dropping to pieces. We had insist on helmets which they eventually found in the back of a shed, none had clips to fix on. They had to be tied on, one of the quad bikes my son was on literally fell to pieces half way round he refused to go any further The rest of was just glad to survive the experience, the route was past a dump site with dead horses piled up. We have done quad biking before in other places and was fine. Would not recommend this to any one, quad bikes we rode were nothing like the pictures on viator site.

Amazing quad bike experience

This was our first time riding a quad bike. They took the time to teach us before hand. They also picked us up at our hotel, which by the way it was pretty far *45 minutes away. It was a beautiful experience. We went around sunset time so we got to enjoy the pyramids when the sun was coming down. We rode for about an hr, which is more than enough time. Then we headed back to our hotel. I give them 5 out of 5 stars.

It was an amazing experience we went around before sunset. Had a family emergency and was one hour late communicated this with Ahmed our tour guide ahead of time and he was very understanding. Ibrahim was the best tour guide and photographer! So friendly and filled with positive energy.

EMO is generally prompt with organizing the tour and the driver was on time to pick me up. However there are several serious problems with how the ATV rides are done: 1. Getting to the part of desert close to Pyramids is hit and miss. It depends on security restrictions of the police, which I was told are unpredictable. You may end up taken to the very far south area where the riding conditions are horrible and there’s no view. 2. There are no “professional” cameras allowed in The main desert area, due to prolixity of some police/military buildings. 3. The ATV vehicles are in bad condition. Brakes barely work, accelerator may get stuck. You’ll have to check very carefully what you were getting. There are also no helmets handed out. 4. Finally, to get to the desert you will have to drive through some of the most awful, disgusting neighborhoods. There will be a trash dump, dead dogs and horses, mud with horse and camel manure, etc. that part of the trip takes up about 15 minutes each way. The ATV ride itself was fun but this is too much hassle and safety risk so I’d never recommend anyone do this.
