Horrible tour do not recommend

THIS WAS THE WORST TOUR OF MY LIFE. It was a scam, not sure how Viator got away with hosting it?!?! We hired an English speaking guide. She showed up at the hotel not speaking a word of English… we assumed she was just escorting us to the English speaking guide … but she was the guide herself… we could not understand anything, we did not feel safe, we did not learn anything. Our guide went off taking selfies while locals scammed us near the pyramids. We went to tip one of the camel guys that SHE wanted to take photos with, and some other guy swooped in saying that he’s his brother and to tip him instead. We were so overwhelmed, it took me a second to realize it was a scam, but it happened so fast we almost accidentally tipped the wrong guy. Our guide was not paying attention, did not warn us, guide us at all. We couldn’t ask questions or communicate with her at all. She did not understand. It ruined our experience of the great wonder, we would have been better off and more safe going on our own. Our guide was horrible and unprepared, we gave her water, a portable phone charger to use, and hand sanitizer because she did not have anything at all prepared. We were better guides than her. What a waste. Highly DO NOT recommend!

Had a great trip with my main guide Sharif! This tour is absolutely recommendable! I booked that trip as a single woman (traveling alone) and I felt very safe. I had a great time traveling around in a modern, super clean and safe (!) car, had fun driving a quat with a younger guide through the desert and was riding the cool „Bob Marley“ (name of the camel!) with Ali. Sharif told me a lot about the history of the sights, but as well about the buildings passing by whilst driving! All guides of the day presented several spots/ ideas for pictures and assisted as photographer. I am no picture hunter, but I have to admit, I like them very much! ;) I’ve uploaded some for you to get an impression! When I asked Sharif for a change of the timetable, he figured out how to do so and spontaneously switched the programm according to my wish. I really appreciated that! So as I switched quat at sundown to quat in the early noon (that’s why you don’t see the sunrise on the picture), he offered me additional stops: a visit to a papyrus producing & arts store and a fragrant & amphore producer for getting introducution in the arts! Very intresting. And a perfect fit until my quat ride in early noon ;) Don’t wonder: I am German, but booked an English guide ;) So please don’t mind any language mistakes in my English review! Want’t to have a tradiction to German? ;) Go get it: // GERMAN: // War ein großartiger Ausflug mit meinem Haupt-Tourguide Sharif! Absolut empfehlenswert! Ich habe die Tour als Frau ohne Begleitung gebucht und ich hab mich super sicher gefühlt! Wir waren in einem modernen, absolut sauberen und sicheren (!) Auto unterwegs. Ich hatte mega Spaß beim Quat fahren mit einem zweiten jungen Guide und bin dann mit Ali und „Bob Marley“ (= Ali Kamelführer, Bob Marley sein Kamel) gemütlich durch die Wüste geritten. Sharif hat mir an den Sehenswürdigkeiten und während der Fahrt viel über die Geschichte der Sehenswürdigkeiten, aber auch über Vieles was uns während der Fahrt begegnet ist erzählt. Alle meine Guides hatten immer tolle Foto-Spots, Ideen für witzige Fotos haben natürlich gerne als Fotograph assistiert. Ich bin keine Fotojäger, aber ich muss zugeben, mir gefallen die Schnappschüsse! Ein paar hab ich Euch hier hochgeladen! Ich hatte natürlich gleich noch eine Spezialaufgabe für meinen Guide und wollte den Zeitplan ändern: Quat mittags oder früher Nachmittag anstatt zum Sonnenuntergang (deswegen kein Sonnenuntergang auf den Fotos). War kein Problem! Mein Guide hat sich was überlegt und spontan umdisponiert. Das hat mich mega gefreut! Ein bißchen Zeit blieb dann zu füllen, in der haben wir dann eine Demo echter Papyrusfertigung mit Papyrusmalerei und einen Duftöl-Hersteller mit Live Glasbläserkunst (Fertigung Duftölflakon) besucht. War sehr interessant und eine perfekte Tourergänzung bis zum Quat-Trip am frühen Nachmittag ;) Ich hab die Tour in Englisch gebucht, Deutsche Guides gibt’s aber genauso.
