Be prepared to walk on uneven stone surfaces and slippery at times. If you already have an idea of what you are looking for it might be easier to shop. Your guide can help you to find bargains.

Zizou is incredibly knowledgable. He’s also a wonderful storyteller. We stopped by the oldest hospital in the world and asked Zizou about a simple question about medical specialization. He responded with the most insightful story about medicine and innovation in Ancient Egypt. He balances a tourist’s point of view at all times and makes sure that he’s responding to questions with consideration to potential limitations or gaps in the individual’s knowledge. Cannot recommend Zizou enough!

I loved this tour! What a peek into life in Cairo - the streets were chaotic and overwhelming and we LOVED it. Our guide Tito provided so much great information and made sure we were safe and comfortable the entire time. This is really a must do tour when in Cairo!

Good tour with Hussein who showed us the Al Azhar Mosque and walked us around the market and explained the Islamic architecture of the old quarter to us and helped us try some local goodies. It was a shame some of the other mosques in the old quarter were closed for Covid, but still a beautiful and chaotic area to explore and made all the more enriching with the help of a guide. Hussein also was kind enough to help us out with some aspects of our trip and checked in on us later to make sure it had all gone well - very kind! Also the pick-up and drop-off was very convenient for us.

We went to some stunning locations and saw lots of interesting things we would have probably missed without a guide. On the other hand, our guide talked too much about generic aspects of Islam (which we already knew) and not enough about the buildings themselves (which we were more interested in). He did make an effort to be helpful about the pickup and drop-off at the end of the tour though, which was generally well organised.

Our tour guide was Tito, he was great and involved our 16 year old son in the conversation. This was not an area I would have walked around by myself. We saw 2 other tourists during our 3½ hour walk. Fascinating insight to Islamic Cairo, with many of the buildings still in use, but falling into disrepair. There is no toilet stop or food available on this tour so beware. Tito had a wealth of knowledge to share with us and we all came away feeling we had a good sense of how things had been.

I had such a wonderful time. My tour guide was so amazing. She was so kind and concerned about everything I wanted to know and see. And she was so intelligent and could answer all my questions. I couldn't have imagined I would have such a great time on a tour.
