It was an incredible experience for us. Mohammed is a very informative, super smart guide who has excellent language and photographic skills. We felt very safe with him throughout the days. We got a lot of factual, historical information besides countless laughs.

Decent tour but they scam you with the camel ride

To start, our driver was fantastic and tour guide was friendly. The locations you'll visit are also fascinating and must sees while you're in Egypt. The "shopping" experience is your typical tourist trap where they push you to buy overpriced souvenirs. This is fine, and we're used to it while traveling. But we were not fine with the rude salesperson pushing us to book an overpriced camel ride for the pyramids. We mentioned that we weren't feeling too well and would rather drive and walk around the pyramids, but the shady camel ride salesperson and even our tour guide didn't listen and essentially forced us to buy at least the minimum package for the camel ride. We insistently asked our tour guide if we could just drive to the pyramids, and he refused saying it would be boring and not a good experience for us. Also, they give you a ridiculous price for the camel ride, initially asking for $110 USD per person when you should be paying $20 a person (the official government rate which you can look up is 350 egp ~ $14 per person per hour on a camel). The scam aside, the camel ride was not worth it - the camels are abused, you won't learn anything about the history of the pyramids while riding the camels, and you'll spend only a few minutes close up to the pyramids. I am giving 2 stars for the sights you'll see, and the friendly private driver. I would've given 5 stars, but the camel ride was just such a bad experience that I felt I needed to warn other travelers. Also, the 5 star reviews for this tour is because they ask you to review on tripadvisor during the tour and the tour guide will look over your shoulder at what you write.
