What To Expect

After choosing your hiking route, begin your private tour with pickup from your Barcelona hotel. Bring a raincoat, hiking boots, and a packed lunch to enjoy in addition to the provided refreshments.

Then, travel by private, air-conditioned minivan to the Pyrenees, the rugged mountains that form a natural border between Spain and France.

After roughly two hours on the road, arrive at the start point, and meet your local hiking guide. Then, set off on your trek, absorbing the surrounding beauty of the pastures, woodlands, and picture-perfect Romanesque and medieval villages.

As you walk, discover the contrasts between Spanish and French life, customs, and architecture. Drink in famous beauty spots, and refuel with light refreshments provided by your guide.

After your full-day adventure, end your trip with a ride and hotel drop-off back in Barcelona.

We had an excellent time on our hike with Pere to Gallina Pelada. He was knowledgeable, friendly and took the time to answer any questions we had. Pere made sure we had the right equipment (and nourishment) before heading out and his enthusiasm made him fun to hike with. Our hike wasn’t easy (snow, rocks, and 1000’ of elevation change) but was worth the effort for the amazing summit and views of the Pyrenees. Pere’s door to door service was a huge bonus and we would not hesitate to recommend him for other hikers.

this was a wonderful hike pretty challenging. Our guide picked us up promptly at our hotel in Barcelona. Then we drove about an hour and a half to a small little café to review our trail choices. We were able to get a cup of coffee and a sandwich for the hike. The hike we chose was a little more challenging for me so I had to stop and rest while my friend actually did the summit ha ha.

Climb to Gallina Pelada

Pere was so kind and patient and shared his love and knowledge on the drive and hike. One other guest much younger and stronger than me but it was perfect. He made sure we stayed hydrated and fed and warm. It snowed for a few minutes on our resent! Had never been above the tree line and it was spectacular. Pere gently held my hand and led me down the difficult areas then released my hand when it was safe. Stayed at the hut while they summitted Gallina Pelada as the weather was ominous. It was the perfect way to end my trip to Barcelona. I would not hesitate to recommend this or do it again. Thank you so much Pere. It was amazing.

Pere was a our fabulous tour guide. 10 out of 10 experience. The terrain was a little difficult for me, but he was sure to set a steady and safe pace for us to ascend up the mountain.
