Private tour at Joan Miro Museum

My teenage son and I had a great private tour with Veronica! Veronica brought the art to life and explained Miro’s life and all the characters who influenced him. Veronica also taught us how to interpret the symbols in Miro’s art. Highly recommend!

Laura was a wonderful guide, warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. She is evidently a magician as well, as it seemed as if she spent more time with us then she actually did, a testament to how much information she conveyed during our time at the museum. The museum is beautiful, the gift shop and bookstore are wonderful, and the cafe is also too notch. I recommend the Catalan Cod. Overall, the private tour is well worth your time and money. Ask for Laura, to be your guide.

I didn’t feel as tho I learned much from the guide….she repeated herself many many times but in doing so she didn’t impart knowledge to me. In fact, I wondered if she was not deeply familiar with Miro. Very expensive tour / not worth it

Laura gave us an interesting, knowlegeable tour, explaining how history, cross-pollination and innovative artistic ideas motivated Miró's art. She was engaging, willing to go "off script" to answer our specific questions, and compressed a lot of information into a compact tour. Highly recommended!!

Laura was a wonderful tour guide! Fluent in English, went at our pace. Extremely knowledgeable about Miró, his art and him personally. We had the fabulous experience of the Miro-Picasso exhibition, which was wonderful, and Laura provided amazing context of their history and lifelong friendship. Highly recommend this museum and Laura as guide!

If we would have known that 2/3s of the exhibit was closed because of the upcoming Miro Picasso event, we would not have gone. I think this is something that Viator should have been aware of and told us ahead of time. The people accepting tickets also had a hard time finding out tickets with the tickets provided on our iPhone. We were a bit early for the tour,they couldn’t find info for our guide and we were done within 30 mins so we missed each other. Not the guide’s fault.

Laura our guide was good and knowledgeable about the museum. IMHO the museum was not crowded since you have to go up the mountain to see it so not necessary for skip the line. It is also small enough and has good written explanations that maybe not necessary for a guide if you take time to read.

Laura was a superb guide for this private tour of the site. We loved Miro going into this and learned to love him even more! This building was designed by Miro to showcase his paintings, sculptures, and tapestries. Miro placed the art throughout which is unheard of! Do not miss the gifted Calder mercury sculpture.

Our guide was the most fantastic guide we had this trip. Carles(correct spelling) was incredibly knowledgeable and with great perception of how different my husband and I absorb art. His docent technique was high level, asking us questions that made us think about concepts giving us a broad view of Miró and the development of his style over time. Great sense of humor! And of course Miró is inspiring! Make sure you see Miró's public art around town.

The Miro Foundation is a must see, this is my third visit. Knowing about Miro is know more about Catalan and Spanish history and people. Enjoy the walk up from the city, enjoy the view. Jordi’s tour gave me insight into Miro’s work I wouldn’t have otherwise had on my own. I saw the art with new eyes.
