The brochure description didn’t describe all the lovely experiences, I went hoping I would watch the dogs round up the sheep, hoping the sheep shearing would actually happen, and hoping for lunch. I got all those things in aces, and my driver for the day was fantastic, knowledgeable and interesting. One of the best tour days I have ever had. I also really enjoyed the forest walk.

We used Coast To Coast Tours through Viator for this trip and they were absolutely amazing. Marama picked us up and gave us a tour of the most amazing villages and gardens. Her knowledge and personal experience made such a difference. Sheep World was the highlight and the best part of my 51 day vacation! If I ever return to Auckland, Coast to Coast will be the first call I make. We have had so many tour guides on this vacation (Australia, Fiji, NZ, etc), but none compare to Marama. I would absolutely recommend Coast to Coast Tours. Viator booking was easy to use and provided reminders.

A wonderful, fun experience that supports a good cause- helping children to be able to succeed in life. Our tour guide, Jennine, was great! She explained all about the organization and how the Sheep World farm and restaurant proceeds help to support the school there on the grounds and provide working skills and training. So many animals to see- sheep, a donkey, goats, alpacas, deer, emu, possums, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and the most adorable baby lambs! We got to cuddle with lambs that were 3 to 5 days old. The Sheep herding was fascinating watching the sheepdog work so fast to place the sheep where the farmer wanted them to go. We also saw a sheep shearing demonstration and got to feel how different a sheared sheep was to a wooly one. A fun day with side trips to a honey farm and a nice stroll through a botanical tree forest with huge Kauri trees. Our guide, Jennine was very knowledgeable and patient waiting for a part of our group that was delayed. A great time for kids and adults of all ages!

We spent a lovely day with our guide Marama who was very caring, cheerful and always ready to answer any question. First we saw Auckland Sensory Garden and then went to the Sheepworld. The farm is really worth seeing, you can learn about breeding sheep and how dogs can help with that work. Feeding the animals is really cool, not only for children :)
We also took a walk in a beautiful scenery of Parry Kauri Park Walkway with stunning trees and plants. At the end we went to Honey Centre where we could taste (and buy) different kinds of honey, including mead.
If you want to have a nice relaxing time with your family, I really recommend this trip.

Peter was a great guide and knew a great deal about the countryside in NZ. Sheepworld has a most beautiful mission-to help girls who come from families who have struggles and theses girls need guidance. They assist at the farm and learn many skills and patience. The show was just terrific.. and the animals

I was looking forward to seeing how they sheer sheep and that we did! We even learned how they tagged the sheep to identify their gender and age then got to help separate the sheep into different pens by their tags as they came running in.
Allan was very knowledgeable about the history of Auckland and took us to see Kauri trees in a micro rainforest and a manuka honey farm on the way to the sheep farm! It was a very busy day!!

We really enjoyed the visit to Sheep World, the animals, and the sheep dog and sheep shearing demonstrations. The Springboard story should be retold and heard. We also liked the scenery on the drive there and back. However, the stop at the honey center was more like a sales stop, but no pushy salesman at all and it was only 10 minutes. We just had some hokey pokey ice screen and moved on, and spent more time stopping at various view points on the way back instead. The guide, Marama, was wonderful, kind, and very accommodating.

We had a great time. We had the excursion all to ourselves except for the guide snd and a trainee ( sorry I can’t remember names). They took us all over the place to unique adventures, as well as the fun Sheep World. Very educational there.

Our driver (ugh, I forgot her name!) was absolutely wonderful. We really loved Sheepworld and getting to see, pet and feed all the adorable animals. Watching the sheep shearing was quite the show, the handler had that thing fully shaved in under 2 mins. Amazing! Then, we went to a lovely nature preserve and had a little picnic in the forest and we got to walk along a lovely nature path which was a nice bonus because I though we were just doing a sheep farm. And then, since we had a bit of time, our driver drove us along the beautiful beaches outside of Auckland and even stopped so we could get a proper Tip Top ice cream come right on the beach. And best of all, my husband had tweaked his hip somehow and so she stopped at the drug store so I could get him a cane to help out. She really went about and beyond and made it a special day! Thank you so much!

It was a good experience and it was fun watching the dogs and sheep interact. It was not the most exciting tour I've ever taken, but my wife wanted to, so we did.

What a ball of fur and fun. We took the small group tour and it ended up being the four of us which is always great. Our guide was a hoot and gave us tons of history and stopped at different places because we had the time. That happens when everyone is back to the van on time. We happened to be there with a ton of preschoolers and it was so fun to see their reaction. Loved watching the dogs with the sheep and the shearing>.DId a great nature walk also and visited the Winter Gardens.

Wonderful day. As we are off season mid week it was just the two of us. Our guide was warm, wonderful and accomodated our preferences. Lovely way to see the countryside.

Great trip for nature and animal lovers! Our tour guide Jose wend above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. She is knowledgable and passionate about New Zealand's flora, fauna, and culture. We visited multiple places, traveled in minivan new and comfortable with small group of 6. Sheep world was so much fun as we learned about sheep farming and watch sheep shearing. Thanks.

This small group touring is the best. Gave us a real insight to lifestyle of the Kiwis, sheep farming and the local fauna.

We had a great time visiting the gardens and Sheep World. Jose was a great guide and gave us insight into New Zealand during our tour. The animals were fun and the staff was entertaining at Sheep World. Lunch at the pottery factory was an added treat. The route we took was very scenic and we had a great group of fellow travellors.

The fact that we didn’t get anything that we paid for. No show at Sheep World! More of a “petting zoo” experience. They took us to a couple of wineries, one that couldn’t accommodate us so we drove to another. I didn’t sign up for a winery tour! 7+ hours in a rented driven by an 80 year old guy who didn’t communicate with us about what was happening.

Thank you for your insightful review. You probably didn’t take the time to read our previous reviews about our delightful guides and tours we offer. Never have we done anyone in let alone steal their money. If anything we have been accused of being too generous. The way you speak about other human beings, speaks volumes.
We explained our situation and that it was a misunderstanding between our company and Sheep World (a first). I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t take the time to see the company that runs Sheep World (NGO) and the amazing work they do with young people. So hopefully we will not make this mistake again and adjust our booking system accordingly.
