-We pickup from all accommodations in Athens. For the area of airport pickup/drop off there is extra charge, please contact us. -Recommended outfit for women is long skirt or long dress. If you do not have, they will give you there a scarf to put on your waist, ( 3€ charge ) or if you have one you can do the same. For men is advisable to wear long pants. Also the monasteries do not accept cards so please have cash with you. It is 5€ per person per monastery.

This was a perfect day to Meteora! Drive was long but Theo made it great! He treated us like family and made the long drive fun. Meteora is like a whole other world! It is beautiful and amazing! The lunch spot he recommended was fantastic!!

Wow, a very long travel day from Athens but, oh so worth it! Got to see 2 monasteries and a nunnery. Had lunch and then drove back to Athens! Spectacular scenery-unlike anything I’ve ever seen before!

Our private tour excursion to Meteora was a highlight of our trip. Although it was a long day trip from Athens, we were all happy to have chosen this option. George, our very capable driver and guide, picked us up promptly at our hotel at the scheduled time. The vehicle was a very comfortable Mercedes van. George was engaging, and informative during the trip to and from Meteora, sharing his historical and cultural knowledge. He was attentive to us and made appropriate stops en route. The drive to Meteora was beautiful, and it was a welcome diversion from the busyness of Athens. George was a very pleasant and enjoyable companion with over 20 years experience with this particular tour.
Meteora itself is breathtaking. It is inconceivable how the monasteries and convents were built into the otherworldly landscape.
The area was rife with tourists, even at the shoulder season, but George, being so familiar with the area, navigated us well, and maximized the time we had. We were able to visit each site on our own time which was so relaxed as opposed to a scheduled large group tour.
After our tour was complete we enjoyed a delicious meal at a local restaurant. It was one of the best meals we had in Greece.
It was an unforgettable day, and well worth the expense and time. Highly recommended and not to be missed.

What a wonderful tour. Saw three monasteries, all of which were exceptional. Our driver picked the three with the best ease of access, but that does mean easy climbs. Very well maintained paths and stairs. Our driver, Dimitri was exceptional. He knew his history, the area, and the monasteries. Excellent communication. We highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience visiting the monasteries and Thermopylae with Melina! My wife and our 22 YO daughter thoroughly enjoyed the day, learning the history if the epic Spartan battle, seeing the amazing geological features of Meteora and the monasteries build into the rock formations. This was our first trip to Greece and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this tour. The views of the monasteries were incredible and the tour guide (Nathan) was excellent!
The views of the monasteries, including the caves, were jaw dropping. Nathan’s professionalism, knowledge of Greek history, and sense of humor made this tour even more enjoyable. Take note that you will do steps on this tour. Comfy shoes, extra water bottles, and ‘modest’ dress per the monastery rules are a must. Note that when we were there, all of the monasteries had scarves and skirts to borrow.
Nathan’s lunch suggestion was terrific and we have to agree that the lamb is delicious.
All in all this was a great day and definitely a bucket list tour.

Well worth the trip from Athens! The drive is scenic and beautiful, and Meteora itself is just incredible! Our driver, Anthony, was wonderful. He took us to the monasteries and all of the best spots to take pictures and then to a great local taverna for lunch before our return to Athens. It was a long day but an experience you can't miss!

We had the opportunity to have a full day private tour at Meteora today and we can not thank Harry our driver for the best day ever!
Right from the time of pickup to drop off Harry was truly the best, very informative, made sure we were looked after, took us to all the open monasteries with some background information and dropped us to a quaint restaurant from lunch with the best service and food.
Would recommend this tour and driver for sure!

The trip was really good and went well as planned. Our driver Theo was polite, courteous and was very accommodating as we were traveling with family. The vehicle was also clean. Overall no complaints with the tour.
Only 1 thing to consider. We had lunch at the Meteoran Panarama restaurant. We believe the lady over there was trying to sell her specials as her waiter had initially mentioned they served souvlaki but later they denied having it for that day. I don’t know if this was a genuine misunderstanding. We were traveling with kids and tired so didn’t want to check for other restaurants. So I would recommend to check in advance before you get seated and settled what you want to eat since the place is a bit pricey as well.

Sometimes in a restaurant a certain dish might finish depending on how many people order it. There were many different dishes to choose from. The restaurant’s waiter just suggested you the specials of the restaurant, as all waiters do in every restaurant. That did not mean that you were forced to choose only the specials. Visiting Meteora was one of the most amazing things my wife and I have ever been able to do. We took a day trip from Athens and it was 100% worth it, despite the 3-4 hr each way from the city. We also got to visit Thermopylae on the way to Meteora, which was a nice road-side attraction and surreal in it's own right.
We ended up getting to visit the Monastery of St. Stephen, Monastery of The Holy Trinity, and Monastery of St. Rousanou on our trip as there's only 3 monasteries open each day and it changes each day. The monasteries are absolutely beautiful places and there is a sense of peace that emanates from them, which was a great feeling.
The Monastery of St. Stephen is easily accessible and it also had a nice gift shop selling icons and locally made products, which was a nice touch. The Monastery of The Holy Trinity requires you to hike down and then back up to get there, but it's well-worth it as it's a magnificent place and was probably my favorite. The Monastery of St. Rousanou (St. Barbara) has two ways of getting there and our driver was nice enough to let us hike down a forest path and picked us up at the bottom, which was a nice touch. No photos are allowed inside this one, but the iconography is something you need to see; it's breathtaking.
Tips: All of the monasteries charge a 3 euro entrance fee per person and there is a strict dress code (Men - long pants and no sleeveless shirts; Women - skirts that cover the knees and shoulders covered).
I couldn't finish this review without thanking Yorgos, who was absolutely fantastic and it was a pleasure to talk with him and learn from him. Thanks Yorgos!
Meteora is an otherworldly place and it was a moving experience to be here, particularly as an Greek Orthodox Christian. It's a must-see if you're visiting Greece!

Melina was a wonderful guide, and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable in Greece. She was so incredibly knowledgeable in history and culture, and taught us the whole way from Athens to Meteora and back. We could not have had a more memorable or pleasurable experience!

Between 3 and 4 stars. The sights are amazing and it is a worthwhile tour. Our tour guide was good and gave us both information at the appropriate times and peace to enjoy the ride. There were a few draw backs including vagueness around if we could actually manage our own itinerary as was offered - we did end up limiting how many monasteries we visited so we could make it back in a reasonable time. Additionally, the town that rests underneath meteora is a tourist trap so the restaurant we went to was fittingly so; not sure that there was much more options but it’s always a sign when the tour guide doesn’t eat at the same restaurant. The private component of this was not necessarily worth while and I would suggest that unless you have personal reasons for needing a private tour to consider something in a group. We did get photos away from tour groups and our timing worked out for the smallest crowds but it may be worth saving the money.

Our guides never go to another restaurant to eat, we have a clear itinerary and schedule and most importantly, if you felt that there is no reason to take this private tour in comparison with a bus, then certainly you did not experience our business. It was long drive from Athens but Harry took great care of us and was a great conversationalist. The tour of the monasteries was excellent and gave us extra time to grab pictures and gave us plenty of time to explore each of the 3 monasteries. We had a lovely Greek lunch as well. Harry was wonderful and felt we made a friend !
