Fabulous, easy, and informative tour. Michael offers a wealth of Greek history and navigated the streets of Athens like he grew up here (he did:). We saw all of the key landmarks and a few new ones we hope to return to. Don’t skip the Acropolis Museum. The archeological part of the site is fascinating and worth the price of admission even if you are short on time. Michael’s relaxed, flexible, and joyful personality made this day so much more enjoyable. His knowledge of the area and its history is remarkable and so fun. Book this trip, you will not regret it.

Dimitri did a great job of catering to our needs. We saw the main sights, found a nice lunch spot and was given time to shop. Being picked up and dropped off at our cruise was well worth it!

Half Day Athens - Outstanding Experience

We had only one full day in Athens before departing and selected the half day Athens tour and paid just few Euros more for the larger vehicle and it was so worth it. Visibility to key attractions that were pointed out by our driver/guide Dimitris we could easily see. We saw and visited so many sites and made so many memories. We have used Viator many times and have never had a less than outstanding experience. Always so informed of the area, friendly and professional. Half day Athens was perfect.

Our tour of Athens was wonderful. Alex is an amazing tour guide. He has a great knowledge of Greek history. The tour company gave us a great suggestion on where we could park our rental car and the bus met us there to start our tour. All the sites we amazing.The Acropolis museum, the Parthanon, Mars Hill, Temple of Zeus, the changing of the guards. Highly recommend this tour!

Athens Greece Half Day Private Tour with Elegant Greek Tours

On a Norwegian Mediterranean cruise, our port stop at Malta was cancelled due to bad weather and we were rerouted to Athens. We were able to book last minute through Viator this half day private tour. The weather was raining but our driver was able to take us the main sites, Acropolis Museum, Temple of Zeus, Hardian's Arch. Van was very comfortable and spacious. Would recommend.

The Best Tour We Have Taken

When on a Royal Caribbean cruise, we booked an Elegant Greek Tours half-day private six person tour of Athens through Viator. Our guide, Alex, was so professional and accommodating. He picked us up promptly in a Mercedes SUV at the port terminal. At each of the stops (Acropolis, Temple of Zeus and the Acropolis Museum), he gave us as much time as we wanted. When we wished to skip a fourth stop and get a local beverage, he took us to a great little restaurant on the water off the beaten path. Alex could not have been nicer. Our tour was supposed to last 4-5 hours, and yet he told us it didn't matter how long. We ended up with a 6 hour tour. This tour cost us around 100 euros per couple. The ship's small tour (25 people) cost around $149 per person. We felt this was a great experience and would highly recommend Alex and Elegant Greek Tours for future travelers.

Interesting and a must see but...

Our driver and guide Alex was really helpful, flexible and informative. We highly recommend him. The main attractions in Athens are a must see, but sadly the venues are very crowded, and in some cases (such as the Gardens) are suffering from neglect, likely due to low budgets.
