We pick up from all hotels/accommodations in Athens. Airport or Airport area pickup/drop off is extra charge. Please bring your own towels at the lake, as they charge them. If you wish to book a massage at the Lake, please contact the lake and book prior to arrival. Massage service is not available in the low season. Please bring a second change of clothes to enter the car after the swim. The temperature of the lake varies depending on the season, ranging from 22 degrees to 29 degrees Celsius (71.6 degrees Fahrenheit to 84.2 degrees Fahrenheit). Swimming should be performed on an empty stomach, or after digestion, after three hours from the last meal. Breakfast should be light on tour date. Please advise weather forecast before booking in winter time. Airport or Airport area pickup/drop off is extra charge. Guests on a cruise need to send us the name of cruise ship in order for our driver to be outside their cruise ship for the pickup.

This tour was truly one of the highlights of our time in Athens. From the serene beauty of Lake Vouliagmeni to the breathtaking views at the Temple of Poseidon, every moment felt thoughtfully curated and unforgettable. What made the experience exceptional, however, was our tour guide Jason. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and carried a genuinely positive attitude throughout the entire day. His depth of knowledge brought each location to life, and he shared insights and stories that you simply wouldn’t get on your own. He was also prompt, accommodating, and consistently attentive—making sure we were comfortable, engaged, and enjoying every stop. His recommendations were spot-on and added even more value to an already fantastic itinerary. By the end of the day, it felt less like a tour and more like a perfectly guided experience with someone who truly cared about making it special for us. He turned a great tour into a memorable one. Highly recommend—this is an absolute must-do if you’re visiting Athens.

Lake time

The facilities are neat and well kept, the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The experience of having your feet and knees nibbled is fun. The smash burger I had was huge and fantastic as was the sangria. Definitely worth the money in my opinion but this is my first time traveling abroad and I'm all about new experiences. We visited when the weather was a little cool so the water was a little chilly but we put on our suits and got in and there were plenty of people swimming despite the chilly water. There are changing cabanas and showers.

Our tour guide George is a local treasure! Intelligent and captivating conversationalist. This tour in particular was a breathe of fresh air as the day prior my friend and I were on a packed tour bus. This time around was just the 2 of us and George. All of the stops were never rushed and we could spend as little or more time at each location. George asked if we liked seafood and took us to an amazing spot where everything was shown to us prior to cooking and super fresh. If we had not been into seafood he had a backup spot. Super accommodating. Be sure to have WhatsApp to communicate with your driver. Rate this an 11 out of 10!

Our guide George was really amazing. A local Athenian his whole life, he knows all about the country, economics, locations to see and food to eat. He remembered each of our names and I could not recommend him more! I would use him everywhere we go if I could :) The lake was beautiful and very peaceful. You can order drinks and food next to the water. But the water was very cold this time of year so might not be worth the $20 per person price. Definitely bring a towel cause they rent them for $40 a piece! Cape Sounion was beautiful but need to make the time to do the listening tour if you don’t have a guide through the ruins. I would recommend this tour but be prepared that everything is very pricey.

Our day with George was wonderful! Picked us up on time at our Airbnb and was so informative! Knew so much about the history and the modern day of Greece. He took us to the Lake (which was a tad cool in mid November). He suggested a great fish restaurant at the waters edge and then ended our site seeing at the Temple of Poseidon. We leaved so much!

Panos was a great guide and very personable. The lake was cold, so only one of four of us swam. The other 3 were just pleased to be in the water, and enjoyed the little fish nibbling at our feet. Beautiful area and not crowded. The Temple of Poseidon was so picturesque out on Cape Sounion. Panos took us to a restaurant for lunch, with the sea just outside the window.

George was fantastic! He was very punctual, informative and a great guide. He answered all questions we had about Greece and dropped us at the thermal lake for about 2 hours, which was the perfect amount of time. The water was a little chilly (mid November), but worth the plunge! The facility had showers and changing rooms available, which made everything easy. George then took us to a delicious spot to eat an authentic Greek lunch overlooking the sea, then we were off to Poseidon’s ruins for a fabulous sunset! It was a long day, but worth the drive. Having George drive us on the private tour as opposed to sitting on a bus with 40 others was much more relaxing and enjoyable. This was the way to go! Thanks, George, we enjoyed our tour tremendously and will cherish the memories!

A great finish to our Greek vacation!

My wife and I had an amazing time on our tour with Melina! Since it was a private tour, she was flexible with our itinerary. We stayed longer at Lake Vouliagmeni, eating there and foregoing lunch in town, and allowing the fish an opportunity to finish their meal at a more leisurely pace :) Melina showed a great passion for her country, its culture, and its history - both the Golden Age that is the subject of the tour, and the modern era. Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon were our last stop on our trip to Greece, and Melina did a wonderful job of providing the context of their place in Greek history. However, a real highlight for us was our conversation on the drive back to Athens. As a tourist, almost everything is geared toward the Golden Age and its ruins, but we wanted to learn more about modern Greece. Melina told us its compelling tale, starting with the Greek War for Independence, through World War II and to today, with many stories even involving her family. Take the tour, you won’t regret it!

We had a great time travelling to these wonderful destinations. First, the van drive to the places was filled by beautiful views and great conversations with George. He is a wonderful tourist guide and quite open for conversation, which makes the difference in a trip like this. Thank you, George! Second, about the destinations: starting by the lake, where we could swim with temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius in the end of October. It was pleasant the presence of these little fishes. The choice of restaurant was also excellent. We got to have lunch by the coast in a nice restaurant that offered fresh fish. Then, we followed to the temple of Poseidon. Everything had a good pace and brought a sense of calmness at the end of the trip.

Amazing day! Our best day here so far! Theo was amazing and had lots of spots for pictures, coffee and lunch! He was on time, knowledgeable about the places we were touring and everything in between. The lake was very relaxing. We paid to upgrade for loungers and had almost 2hrs to swim, chill, and get fish pedicures in the lake. The temple ruins are on a cliff and very picturesque! Highly recommend!

This One Is A Must Do

My cousin and I chose this tour as a soft day following the Robbie Williams concert in Athens, and what a great choice. We were exhausted so the comfortable drive out to the Temple of Poseidon was lovely (we switched the order of stops due to weather). Our driver/guide (Melina) was very knowledgeable and really thoughtful to our needs. I'm into history and my cousin into the Gods and we both loved the slower pace, less crowds, breadth of information and the views. Did I mention the views.... Then we spent a relaxing couple of hours at Lake Vouliagmeni and oh wow was this sooooo worth it. We lazed in the sun, drank Aperol Spritz, and swam in the beautiful thermal springs. And those fish in the water, well let's say they leave your feet weirdly relaxed. We briefly stopped at a WWII Memorial that had a really interesting (and sad) story attached to it. The stop for a lunch of local food on the way back completed a fabulous day.

Fantastic relaxing and fascinating day trip away from Athens for a day

Fantastic tour! Athens is a wonderful city but can have huge amounts of people and noise so this is the great day trip to visit outside of Athens at beautiful Cape Souunion, Lake Lake Vouliagmeni, and Temple of Poseidon/Athena. A perfect escape from crazy Athens for a day. Our guide Melina is incredibly knowledgeable about Greek History and Mythology and we learned so much from her! Lunch was fantastic by the water with a truly amazing Greek seafood fresh from the sea. My recommendation is to eat at Lake Vouliagmeni if you want a lighter lunch but we are are glad to have the local seafood restaurant (more expensive but delicious). Melina is also a very good driver. Very careful on twisty roads and great city driver never missing a beat about talking about everything you see at the same time as navigating the highway.

A varied and fun day out...

An interesting and fun day out for families! George, the driver and guide, was highly knowledgeable and kept us all entertained throughout the trip. Being dropped right at the entrance of both the spa and the poseidon temple made them much easier to visit than if we had gone ourselves, and the drive itself was very scenic and spectacular. Adults and kids alike all agreed that it was an excellent tour.

Lake Vouliagmeni is a beautiful site. We got there just before 9am so beat all the tour buses and long queues to get tickets. The swim is nice but that time in the morning as the sun is still behind the cliff the water is cold, but definitely warmer than the sea! Our next stop, the Temple of Posiedon is a beautiful site with the Aegean Sea in the background. Absolutely stunning views! This was one of my favourite archaeological sites! We ended the trip with lunch at a seafood restaurant. If you are a seafood lover then highly recommend the restaurant. Overall a good day and our guide for the day, Jason was very helpful and informative!
