Due to the fact that sunset is at different time per month please note that pick up is as follows : April , May, August at about 18:00 June, July at about 18:30 September at about 17:30 October at about 17:00 November, December, January at about 15:00 February, March at about 15:30 At Low Season, we visit a restaurant about 70 meters ( 230 feet) from the seaside. This experience consists of 4 options regarding dinner inclusion. Please make sure that you have booked the correct option : stop for dinner (dinner is on you) /stop for dinner (dinner is included in the total cost).

Theo, our driver was really knowledgeable and we had a fabulous relaxed time. On the drive down he showed us places we wouldn’t have gone such as into the yacht club with the super yachts and knew where to stop for good photos.
Lovely experience at The Posiedon Temple watching the sunset and wasn’t too busy. Then had a lovely rustic meal at a taverna on the sea front.
Was lovely to chat to a Greek about just life in Greece in a comfy air conditioned car.

This excursion was amazing. It was one of my favorite excursions in Greece. The view from Poseidon Temple was unbelievable. The sunset was breathtaking. Our driver Theo was very knowledgeable and funny. He asked us if we had seen several places and we told him we had. We told him the only thing we hadn’t seen was the Olympic stadium. He said he would take us there even though it wasn’t part of our tour. He was so accommodating. Crispy Local is a wonderful company to take tours with. The drivers are the best.

My kids and I loved our trip down to the Temple of Poseidon with Theo! He was entertaining and knowledgeable, and my daughter says to let him know we settled up for €75 for the photos 😆😆😆

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our driver was the best. Dimitris was very knowledgeable, easy to keep a conversation with, and kept us safe throughout the whole trip. We enjoyed our dinner overlooking the water. Our Tour of the Poseidon Temple given by Maria was great. She was very detailed and gave us room to ask questions. Overall, it was a great experience and would highly recommend.

If you’re looking for an evening you’ll never forget, book this private dinner and sunset tour — and pray you get Harry as your guide!
Harry was an absolute gem from start to finish. Knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely fun to spend an evening with, he has a gift for making you feel like you’re exploring with an old friend rather than a tour guide. He brought the history and beauty of the area to life in a way that made the whole experience richer.
The dinner was wonderful — great food, great atmosphere, and the kind of meal that slows you down in the best possible way. And the sunset? Simply breathtaking. One of those moments where you just stop talking and take it all in.
But what really made us smile was what came after — Harry took us out for ice cream to cap off the night. It was such a fun, unexpected touch that perfectly summed up the spirit of the whole evening.

Beautiful family trip to Sounio! 3 adults and 3 kids - taken in a clean van safely to dinner and then Sounio for the sunset. George was our driver and he was friendly and engaging with the adults and kids. Dinner was literally next to the sea with amazing fish! Sounio was just gorgeous at sunset! Great tour!

Excellent experience.
Our driver/host Georgios was so friendly and helpful. We were picked up and returned right outside our hotel and nothing was rushed as he waited patiently whilst we enjoyed our lovely meal and then temple visit.
Restaurant was in a beautuful setting overlooking the sea, food was great.
Temple was great to see and Georgios helpfully warned us that it can be windy at the top! We saw nice sunset before heading back. A perfect chauffer-driven evening experience. Highly recommend!

I would be embarrassed to take my guests to this restaurant! The worst. Travel to Greece with the highest expectations of this tour and get this experience? Sad. A stop at McDonald's drive thru would have been better! The table service was minimal and of no help ordering. The servings were too large and served too quickly to complete. Just get a salad. You have 1 hour, eat fast! A lot of wasted food. The lamb I had looked like scrap cut from a previous order! Gristle and bone pieces. The one star I gave them was for the driver, Dimitri was the best. Also, when you get to the temple and it's cloudy it just becomes another temple on a hill. No pictures of a sunset and lots of fellow disappointed tourists standing around waiting.
I don't post reviews this bad. Be careful on this one, it's a lot of money to waste. Sorry.

It strikes as to read about the uncomfortable experience with your dinner . We would like to point out that this is one of the best Greek , family owned traditional restaurants of the area and that mostly Greeks visit it . They serve Greek salad , with extra virgin olive oil from Kalamata area , saganaki , tzatziki and the way the cook fish or lamp is phenomenal. The restaurant itself has great reviews from thousands of people. We do realize that taste is something subjective but we are 100% sure that the quality and service of that restaurant is beyond and above.
Regarding the time frame , as you put it, please don’t forget that you were late 20 minutes for the pickup. Even though we call it a no show at 15 minutes, we stayed at the hotel to wait for you in order not to miss the tour .
Last but not least , we are very sorry that the weather was cloudy at the day that you visited the Temple of Poseidon. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather , we hope the myths , tales and stories that our driver shared , somehow made your afternoon better .

We had a great experience on this tour. The drive was beautiful, especially the part along the coast. Dinner at an authentic Greek seaside restaurant was delicious. The Temple of Poseidon site is amazing, and we got to see a wonderful sunset from there. Our guide, Mr. George, shared a wealth of knowledge about Greek history and mythology. Booking the tour was easy and communications with Ioannis were prompt and helpful. Definitely recommend this tour with Crispy Local.

Our tour was with Jason. We had an amazing time, the sunset was beautiful, the vehicle was very clean and comfortable. Jason took us to an authentic greek seafood restaurant located on the water on the way home. The food was delicious. Jason was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The drive was a bit long (probably because of where we were staying) but it was very nice to see the island outside of the city. Our driver, Jason, was a very kind, pleasant young man. He made a few short stops so we could take pictures on the way. Unfortunately the evening we went it was rather cloudy so the sunset wasn’t as beautiful as we had hoped. All in all I would recommend taking this tour.

This view is spectacular. The whole drive was breathtaking looking out at the water. My son was too impatient to wait an hour for the sunset so we left and watched the sunset from a restaurant. Still a good view! And good food at our restaurant stop. Our driver was very understanding and friendly.

We highly recommend this experience. It started with a comfortable drive to Poseidon's Temple, where we had ample time to take beautiful photos and admire this important structure.
Following was a delicious dinner. We stopped at a few other places of interest. Our guide George was engaging, fun, and knowledgeable. We were lucky to have him as our driver and guide.
All in all, a perfect evening in Greece, that we will never forget.

Deceiving experience, we paid for the experience but we were also charged full price for the dinner. Operator states this is a generic description, buyer beware. Nice driver however out of 5 tours (Get Your Guide and Olive Sea Tours [best FULL DAY including lunch for similar price]) the Viator tour was a scam.

It starts with an option that the meal is not included and you pay on your own and goes up to high end experience that offers gourmet restaurant where the dinner is paid. Is very clear and in each option we state the inclusions and exclusions. You booked the option that only includes the stop for a meal where meal is on you. Your voucher states that also, in a very clear way. We advised you to check it and we also sent it to you again. We also gave you a breakdown of the cost where is pretty clear that dinner can’t be included in that price. For example you paid 200$ and the dinner alone was 180$. Is it possible to have a Mercedes luxury car and driver / tour guide for 5 hours and charge this only 20$? We are regulated from the ministry of tourism and there is a cost related for every hour booked.
We also tried to explain the situation while returning back from the tour, trying to make clear about the different options, but you jumped out of the car not ever saying goodbye.
The tour operator that you state is one of our cooperators also and we know about the pricing that they implement. The dinner that they have is a plain street food souvlaki of 3$ and a salad. You don’t get to choose anything else. On the contrary, you ordered amongst others, fresh fish and a bottle of wine. We would be more than happy to 100% refund you, if you are able to demonstrate that exactly the same tour that you booked with us, is at the same price with dinner included.

Theo was a great guide! We enjoyed his knowledge of Greece and the Athens area. The car was comfortable, and the scenery was amazing! He got us to the temple in plenty of time to see the sunset. Then we enjoyed a delicious meal, and stopped for gelato on the way back! We highly recommend this tour, this was our second time doing it and it was even better than the first time in 2018.

Watching the sunset at the temple of Poseidon was amazing. Socrates was our driver. He was very friendly and provided excellent service. He picked us up promptly and pointed out sites along the way on the drive to the temple. On the way back, we stopped for the included dinner. My family had seafood, salad, bread, drinks and ice cream treats that were all included in the price of the tour. Everything was fantastic from start to finish for our first night in Athens. Theo was the best guide! Traffic getting out of Athens was terrible and he was very creative and selecting different routes to get us to the sunset in time. He took some beautiful pictures of us as a couple. The sunset view at Poseidon‘s Temple is breathtaking. Theo suggested a couple different restaurant options and the one we selected did not disappoint! It was amazing authentic Greek food, and it felt like we were sitting right on top of the water. Another beautiful view! It was a wonderful experience and I could not recommend this highly enough. And it’s an excellent price for a private tour like this. Be sure to tip him well! And enjoy!

Sounion at sunset is truly breathtaking. We were ultimately glad we came. BUT: that said, i have mixed feelings about the tour operation itself. On the one hand the organizers easily accommodated a last minute request to postpone our visit by a day to accommodate an unexpected scheduling issue. So thanks for that. But for them to schedule pick ups at 5 pm from central Athens in the autumn for a sunset tour leaves no room for anything to go wrong. Which alas in our case it did. Due to traffic, our guide was 15 minutes late getting to us and the same traffic added another 15 minutes delay getting out of the city center. So even with rushing make up for lost time, upon arrival the Temple was closed (last entry is 20 min BEFORE sunset — be sure to check the time for the date you plan to visit — lesson learned!) as the sun had just about set by the time we arrived even with the driver skipping all of the fun stops along the way that you read in other reviews. (No lake visit, no special waffle ice cream. Etc).
Likewise dinner on the way back was at a pleasant tavern but as it was now the dark of night we couldn’t see anything from our seaside table. With all these disappointments our driver clearly felt bad for us (as she kept telling us.) Bottom line I think the fault was not with the driver but with the tour operator who should have realized that with ever-earlier sunsets in the autumn , keeping to the same 5 pm start time as in June or July is just a bad planning mistake. We were just too rushed and late — sad that the tour planning detracted from the truly remarkable beauty of the place.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We always start earlier in order to cope up with unforseen problems that might come on our way. Unfortunately even with this gap , as there was a street party on the way , that nobody had declared or informed about, there was sagnificant delay and you where more than 40 minutes blocked at the same spot without moving. This concluded in missing the entrance window for the Temple of Poseidon. Our driver informed you on the spot before leaving Athens that we can return you back to your hotel as you would miss the entrance time and we would refund 100%. You chose to continue. About the dinner time, as you already mentioned, sunset is earlier in Autumn months. We visit the restaurant after the sunset as if we do it earlier you need to go for dinner at 16:00 which is very early for a dinner. We have all info in our booking page. Always at your disposal and we are very sorry on our end that you had this misfortune. I am sure that our driver with her wealth of knowledge counterbalanced that isolated event and offered you a great tour.

Well spent afternoon travelling through the Athenian Riviera to the Sunio Cape arriving at the Temple of Poseidon just before sunset. Our tour guide, Milena, provides a detailed history of the area going back to the 6th century BC to current day Greece. She framed our trip to the Temple from a Greek Mythological perspective which made the visit come alive. To top off our day, she recommended dinner and local wine at a seaside restaurant frequented by locals.
If you're in Athens and want to take your understanding of the area to the next level, we strongly recommend this tour.
