Itinerary

Begin your coastal bike adventure near the Acropolis metro station in the morning, where you meet your guide and pick up your bike and helmet.

First, cycle around the base of the Acropolis and enjoy unique views of the Parthenon. Then, pass through the Thission neighborhood.

Continue along a flat, bike-friendly route through the city’s quieter neighborhoods on route to the coast.

Feel the fresh Aegean breeze and absorb the relaxed atmosphere as you take in great views of the Saronic Gulf. Discover waterside highlights like the visitor’s center for Athens’s new opera house and national library, the tae kwon do complex from the 2004 Olympic Games, the Faliro Marina, and the Averof Ship Museum.

Next, head to the Flisvos Marina to explore as you like. Maybe stay on your bike for further exploration or kick back with refreshment or meal (own expense).

Visit the ancient Keramikos cemetery, which dates back to 3000 BC, as you cycle toward the city. At your original departure point in the early afternoon, your tour concludes.

Athens is a big city best explored by bicycle. We pedaled past the changing of the guard, outdoor vegetable markets, and cultural landmarks. Best part was stopping for a swim in the sea. Bike paths made the travel safe and Maria made the trip fantastically fun. It was a big YES

K was a careful and pleasant guide with great knowledge of the city of Athens and speaks English very well. The route to the sea includes many interesting elements. On the way back we enjoyed some delicious pieces of pie for free. All travelers that like biking should do this tour

No crowds, shaded lovely seaside ride

Excellent bike tour from Athens to the seaside. Bike path is mostly flat 20miles round trip with lots of stops. Good working bikes with gears. Only one hill at end near acropolis. Kostas was our guide and he was wonderful with Maria the second guide. Funny, full of energy and enthusiasm. Made the day lovely telling us stories of life in Greece and taking us to a local bakery for treats. Probably my favorite thing in Athens. Nice to avoid the city ride. No crowds, shade and beautiful beach.

A bike through Athens with Dimitris!

I had the best time touring Athens with Dimitris! Ended up being the only one on the tour- but I could tell how passionate he felt about teaching people about his city! Family Bike Tour

Seeing the real Athens

Spectacular experience, one of the best things I did in Athens. You get to see a totally different side of the city from the normal tourist area and the beach was beautiful. Don’t be frightened by the distance, it is not a challenging ride. Kostas was an amazing guide and cyclist. Would definitely do it again and recommend to anyone who wants to get out and see more of the city.

This is the second tour we have taken with Athens by bike. It was a fabulous tour. Andreas was a charming guide, his English was excellent & he was very knowledgeable about the area. It was fun to cycle through different neighborhoods & end up at the beach. It was an easy bicycle ride & so much fun. We enjoyed stopping at the bakery for snacks on the way back. Thank you, Andreas & Athens by bike for such an enjoyable morning. It was a great way to start our vacation.

Tour guide was very nice. Would have been nice to stop more often and hear more about the areas etc. Snack break was amazing. Be warned - it’s 30+ km on a hot day...one lady struggled towards the end.

Had a really enjoyable ride to the coast in March with Kostas. He's easy going, super-knowledgeable about Athens (and Sparta) and can give you lots of great tips for your visit. If possible, try and make this one of your first tours!

Demitrious and Sofor were excellent tour guides who gave us a lot of information at our varied stops during the ride. Athens' bike lanes are not well separated and makes for an interesting trip. I am a 66 year old novice bike rider and, while I made it through, I think one should have a modicum of experience before taking on a trip of this length.

Great way to see Athens! More than 95 of the tour was on bike paths. We felt very safe. We enjoyed seeing the city from a different perspective. Our tour guide, Kostas, was fantastic. He was friendly, very professional, yet laid back and even treated us to a traditional Greek dessert on our way back to the city. Highly recommend.

Many thanks to Kostas for a wonderful tour. We were in Athens for over a week and not going on to the coast anywhere else and it was just great to get out of the city centre and down to the coast - and to see other bits of Athens. Kostas is doing a PhD in History and know his stuff! My husband didn't bike as a child and is thus nervous on roads. But this tour was fine as it really was on cycle paths most of the way.

This tour is a great way to learn about the bike path to the coast. It's also a nice way to relax and spend the day. I would only recommend this trip if you are on an extended stay in Athens and are looking for something different to do it's about 4 hours of time, that depending on your itinerary, you might want to spend at other major sites. Bikes were very comfortable and biking company was really professional. You also stop for a coffee at a really nice seaside taverna that has an excellent view.

The coastal bike tour was great , not least because Kostas was such a friendly, positive and easy-going person. He kept me informed of what the ride was going to be like ahead, what we'd be experiencing, what the path/road/terrain was like. I always felt safe, well-informed and very welcome. I'd recommend this trip to anyone who wants to get away from the city for half a day and smell the fresh salt air.
