Our guide, Danielle, was fantastic. She was knowledgeable of the history of Amsterdam, and knowledgeable of the food of Amsterdam. The tastings were extremely good and we got a very good understanding of the way locals eat.

What a fun way to explore Amsterdam. David, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and being a history buff, he gave us a well rounded historical overview of Amsterdam.
My husband and I always start our trip of a new city with a food walking tour. It’s such a great way to see the city by foot, enjoy the cuisine and get a “taste” of what it has to offer. Amsterdam Food and Cultural Tour didn’t disappoint. We highly recommend it!

A lot of walking and not a lot of sitting so be prepared. But the variety of food was very good. Tour guide, David, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and informative

We enjoyed our guide Danielle! She is very knowledgeable of her country and food. The description on the amount of walking was accurate. It is strenuous in the summer given the hotter weather, cobblestone walkways and the number if bicycles racing across the streets. Danielle did a great job keeping us safe as we navigated the busy streets. Food - the apple pie and stroopwafels were the best!

Don't eat beforehand and wear comfortable shoes! Our tour guide, Barni, was fabulous and funny. We appreciated his depth of knowledge and learned a lot from him about the city. The food was varied and incredible. Lots of things we would not have found or thought to try on our own. 100% recommended

A lot of walking. Great pacing. Takes the full 3.5 hours or more if you have a talkative group.
Local restaurants, not tourist traps. Saw interesting cultural landmarks that were not included in other tours. David was very knowledgeable and eagerly answered all questions.
Built in a bathroom break. Had bottles of water for everyone. Very thoughtful and well planned itinerary.

Our guide Danielle was knowledgeable and friendly and the experience overall felt like I was well introduced to food offerings in Amsterdam. The tour also stopped at sites along the way which felt like good highlight stops as someone only in Amsterdam a few days. I left feeling full and having had a great experience!

We have been on many food tours in different countries. This was top notch because Leo did such a great job immersing us in the history and culture of Amsterdam. It was truly an authentic experience and we give Leo and this tour a 10/10!

Well the title says it all really. We have been on many excursions on holidays in the past but this one probably was the best. Our guide, Barni, was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and easy to connect with.
The amount of information was almost an overload but all was informative, relatable and linked with everything we saw, walked past and ate. The places we went too for the food were very good, so good we went back to some of them on subsequent days. The portions were good too. Often you only get finger portions at best but these did really fill you up. He sent a WhatsApp on the previous day to confirm details and not to eat before we came on the tour. Booked for 11am was a perfect time for the 3 1/2hr tour as it really did fill you up for lunch!
Overall, 10 out of 10 for Barni and for the tour itself. If I were to go back I would not hesitate to book it again and honestly if Barni was there it would be a bonus!

While in town for a conference, I and a colleague did this food tour. We walked to a number of great places where we tried a variety of excellent cuisine, including several Dutch dishes and Amsterdam treats. In addition to the traditional foods one associates with Amsterdam, David introduced us to some local flavor that one would not associate with Dutch cuisine. I enjoyed all of the flavors and tastings. David was an excellent guide!
Kendra_D, Jul 2026
Barni was a wonderful guide. He was funny and attentive. The food choices represented the key Amsterdam taste experiences. You will, however, be very full by the last stop. Watching my daughter experience fun foods is one highlight of my trip.

Omg, how much food, David was an amazing tour guide and was very informative about everything. Highly recommend this tour bit definitely don't eat before you go.

There is a significant amount of walking in this tour. Although our guide Leo stopped several times to allow a rest and get off of our feet. Our guide Leo a history student was very knowledgeable and provided the pertinent information needed to make this tour very enjoyable.
Sherry_M, Jul 2026
Carolini was a fantastic guide, very thoughtful, knowledgeable and quick to offer interesting tidbits and details about the city and food!! Would definitely book with her again if we come back since she also does both a museum and religous tour in addition to the food/culture tour.
Amber_D, Jul 2026
Barni was a great tour guide. Flexible and courteous when I was running late from a delayed flight. Loved the Amsterdam highlights that we got to learn, eat and see on the tour.
Anastasia_M, Jul 2026
This was one of the best food tours we've ever done, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great combination of gastronomy and cultural/historical highlights! David was a fantastic and friendly guide who taught us a lot and was happy to answer all of our questions. This made the experience even more enjoyable. 10/10!

We were really looking forward to this tour and it did not disappoint. In spite of the unusually hot weather, the food was great and our tour guide was enthusiastic and informative. We sampled Dutch apple pie, herring, kibbeling, bitterballen, stroopwafels, frites, and more. We DEFINITELY recommend this tour!
Rondi_F, Jul 2026
We walked throughout Amsterdam neighborhoods, eating some favorite foods, like bitterballen, kibbeling, stoppages, apple pie. Barney was an excellent guide, fun, knowledgeable, personable, energetic, friendly.

Roman led a fantastic Amsterdam Food and Cultural Tour and made the experience both fun and informative. He was very nice and shared a lot of interesting context about the city and its food culture along the way. Some of our favorite tastings were the raw herring, fries with mango curry sauce, and the apple pie at the end of the tour. I also really appreciated that he shared a downloadable PDF with recommended places to eat in Amsterdam, which was super helpful for the rest of our trip. This is a great tour to do at the beginning of your visit so you can get a feel for the city and discover foods you’ll want to try while you’re there.
Michele_S, Jul 2026
This was a delicious tour that took us across Amsterdam as we learned Dutch history, ate amazing Dutch food, and experienced Amsterdam up close. Roman was an excellent and thoughtful guide. This tour was a highlight of our trip to Amsterdam, and I highly recommend it. If you want to try Dutch delights, you should experience this tour.

Excellent tour with lots of good food and history lessons along the way. Leo was very knowledgeable and helpful
maria_t, Jul 2026
Barni made the food tour amazing! He was incredible, interesting and fun. One of the best food tours I’ve been on.
Renee_B, Jul 2026
We had a great time with David on this tour — he was so gracious & informative. The food was good and not what we likely would have tried otherwise, but it was really secondary to the interesting cultural information and stories.
Margaret_M, Jul 2026
This is a must do tour while in Amsterdam, combining history and Amsterdam stories along the way between food stops. Our guide Leo was great! He was a so knowledgeable and engaging that the time flew by. All of the food stops were tasty and well chosen. Food tours are a great way to learn about the culture!
RobertaStein, Jul 2026
This was a fantastic activity for first time visitors. We learned so much about the country and had 10 delicious tastings. Our Guide Leo was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
Jana_J, Jul 2026
We absolutely loved this food tour. You will get very full! Every stop was wonderful and so tasty. Our guide was Barni and although being Hungarian, knew a lot about the history of Amsterdam. He pointed out many interesting places and buildings to us and explained the history of the food we were tasting. I wish it was longer but honestly we were stuffed! Highly recommend this tour!
Marc_M, Jul 2026
David was an excellent tour guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable. This was a great experience with several stops for classic Dutch food ranging from grilled cheese sandwiches to herring to desserts. What a great way to see the city!
