Hahaha. Omg. Biking in Amsterdam…everyone bikes in Amsterdam. We had been in the city two days prior to renting our bikes. Two days and not once did we see any sort of mishap, until we rented bikes. My husband and I were with our adult daughters and decided to join the masses. We rented bikes from Discount Bike Rental, which is associated with A-Bike Rental & Tours. As a matter of fact, this address for Discount Bike Rentals was provided as one of four places we could rent our bikes. This came as somewhat of a surprise to Kino, the employee at DBR, but that didn’t stop him from treating us with the utmost courtesy. He helped us get all set up in four bikes with a basket and a thingiemajob to hold my phone on the handle. He also gave us ideas regarding places to see, which was a great help since we rented the bikes for a day. We did a loop of the places he suggested, which gave us ample time on the bike and to explore the outskirts of the city. He was awesome, but that wasn’t the most memorable part of our ride. As I started to say, nary an accident did we witness in two days of walking the streets of Amsterdam, until one of my daughters caught her front wheel on a slippery tram track and almost went down. She dismounted that bike like she was in the My Bike’s Gonna Fall But I’m Not Olympics. She suffered a minor bruise, but it could’ve been so much worse. Fortunately, there was no damage to the bike. Phew. I’m laughing about it as I write this. We weren’t five minutes away from the shop when this happened. After that, it was smooth sailing. I really liked how upright the bikes allowed us to be. They were in great condition and rode easily. Thanks for the rentals, we will definitely look you up when we come back.

At the place near Amsterdan central I was delayed for a long time while they “confirmed” if there were bikes, tried to lie to me about my reservation and literally told me that it was more important for them the tour than the reservations. Not everything was bad, the bike ride is great for Amsterdan, a healthy and economical alternative, the bike was in excellent condition

Meine Tochter und ich hatten 2 Räder gebucht, um Amsterdam authentischer, praktischer und flexibler zu erleben. Das einzige, was geklappt hat, war die Abholung – allerdings war der Angestellte äußerst unhöflich, wenn nicht sogar herablassend. Das allein wäre ja nicht so schlimm, da wir bei einem Fahrradverleih wenig Zeit mit dem Verleihenden verbringen, mit den Fahrrädern jedoch sehr viel. Wir hatten Montag bis Mittwoch (also in unserer Ansicht 3 Tage) mit dem Rad geplant, die Rückgabe war jedoch nur vor 13:00 Uhr am Mittwoch möglich, effektiv hatte man also maximal 2 1/4 Tage mit den Rädern. Damit nicht genug: das eine Fahrrad machte ein schleifendes Geräusch (nach Tausch hatte der Ersatz einen Achter), das andere hatte einen völlig schiefen Lenker. Bei beiden Rädern waren weder Bremsen ausreichend funktionsfähig, noch funktionierte das Licht. Alles in allem also eine große Enttäuschung – besser hier keine Räder leihen, sondern die Füße/die Öffentlichen oder schilcht einen anderen Verleih nutzen.

Très bon accueil de la loueuse de vélo . Bonne petite ballade à vélo dans le Vondelpark. Nous avons bien profité du beau temps. Seul bémol...la circulation en ville avec le monde était particulièrement compliquée,le chemin du parc jusqu'au stand de location était moins agréable.

Jeune homme très sympa et parlant le FR. Tout s'est très bien passé comme prévu. Je suis venue avec un panier à chiens pour porte bagages qui s'est bien adapté. Belle journée ensoleillée vélo avec les chiens et enfants.

Amsterdam in bicicletta è un'esperienza da non perdere. Molto bello il parco cittadino di Vondelpark a due passi dal noleggio bici. Attenzione per per piste ciclabili affollatissime, ai ciclisti velocossimi ed irascibili e soprattutto alle moto che scorazzano indisturbate sulle piste ciclabili 😳
