This was a great time! We had two guides for the five of us, who had to re-route us last minute as I hadn’t realized when booking that the 3hr ride was for intermediate and up riders, and there were several family members who had never ridden. We still got to see the waterfall, tolt, and enjoy beautiful scenery. Icelandic horses are go-goes, unlike American tourist rides where the horses all plod in a line whether you want them to or not, so lots of fun!

Sarah led us on a wonderful 3hr ride thru the glacier rivers. Saw swans and their young, sheep, and flowers. Cold and windy but a wonderful morning!!

We did not end up going on the glacier River Delta with waterfall tour because, after a half mile of writing, we were told that in order to complete the tour in the three hours allotted, we would need to “tolt” (Icelandic horse gait similar to a trot) most of the way. One of us had only been on a horse once before and the other was not relishing the idea of three hours of bouncing in the saddle. Our guide graciously returned to the barn with us, and listed another guide, and received a personalized tour with just the two of us and a lovely guide (Franka - my apologies if I misspelled it). We were able to go at our own pace, which did end up including speeds faster than a walk, as we chose. Our horses were wonderful. The scenery was spectacular. The weather could not have been any more perfect. It was a fabulous day and we very much appreciate the accommodation to our riding preferences. Well done!

Danke Arabella
