Paul: The Man, The Myth, The E-Bike Legend

We had an amazing experience with Paul as our e-bike tour guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about sharing the history and stories behind the places we visited. I especially appreciated the thoughtful documents and even the picture book he brought along to share at certain stops. These personal touches made the tour so much more engaging, informative, and memorable. Paul went above and beyond to make the experience special, and his enthusiasm truly brought each stop to life. We couldn't have asked for a better guide! I highly recommend taking a tour with Paul! And regarding the excursion itself, it was great fun! The carriage paths are lovely in the fall, and we couldn't have asked for a better day. The e-bikes were very easy to use, as someone who rides bikes for fun on the rare occasion. However, if you struggle with balance, the bikes are heavier than normal. I noticed a few older people struggling with them (witnessing an older lady really struggle and nearly smash her face against rocks after losing balance) in addition to a 25ish year old girl in our group who stalled out in front of me and almost caused an accident on the path (but sincerely apologized). So honestly, the greatest struggle appears whoever is in your group and who you get stuck behind and whether they themselves are comfortable (which the tour doesn't have any control over). Now that we know the carriage roads thanks to Paul, I would 100% rent the bikes for a self guided tour if we came back to Acadia again from Island Bikes so we can pace ourselves.

Great day of exploring in Acadia National Park

This tour was a great way to see Acadia national park. Our guide Nathan was very knowledgeable about the area. He took us to the well known areas in the park and also to some areas we would not have discovered on our own. We had lots of opportunities to get out and explore many areas in the park. We did this trip our first day in Bar Harbor. Nathan also gave us suggestions for places we could visit on our own during the rest of our trip. This is a perfect trip for anyone that wants to see the park without having to navigate it on their own.

Overall, a great experience. 22 miles seems like a lot, but it was easy with the E-bikes. Our guide, Lee, was fantastic - very patient with low-skilled bikers, knowledgeable of Acadia, and most importantly, he was a lot of fun. He made the experience much better.

Excursion was very enlightening. It was also very joyful. Group was led by Greg. He was fantastic!! Greg kept us informed through both facts and humor. We laughed a lot, and learned even more. Excellent experience! Patrick really took care of us! His felt of bikes are all new. He gave us a great tutorial on the bikes. He included helmets, bike locks and maps. The bikes road great! We road about 30 miles that day. My wife, who was a little nervous at first turned into a pro rider within 30 minutes. We will definitely be calling Patrick next fall when we go back to Acadia!

A must to see Acadia!

Definitely one of the best things we did in Bar Harbor. The e-bikes are super easy to operate and make traveling the park a dream. My wife and I loved every minute of it and we are not super athletic people. Definitely a must for almost anyone. The landscape is amazing. We pedaled over 25 miles and it was great! Would definitely do it again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great time riding the carriage trails!

My daughter and I were scheduled for a full day e-bike rental. We picked up our bikes at 10:00 AM in Bar Harbor. My daughter reviewed her plan with the bike rental staff who gave us a highlighted map of our bike tour. After a couple of minutes of e-bike training we were ready to go. The bike shop is just 1.5 miles from Duck Brook Bridge entrance. We road on many carriage roads including eagle lake, hadlock lake, Jordan Pond and many more. The e-bikes were great! We ended up riding 32 miles with about 33% battery life left. We had a great time! Remember to bring water and snacks. Take plenty of breaks and enjoy the beautiful views! I highly recommend this activity! For reference, my daughter is 32 and I’m 65. If I can do it anyone can!

Excellent tour

I was lucky to be on this tour. As our driver gave wonderful narrative of the sights and park history, we were escorted to very convenient spots to view. We watched other, private cars driving around and trying to find parking. This tour was absolutely wonderful with a well informed host, comfortable van and great tour.

Doug was an amazing guide. He was super knowledgeable and gave us so much history and information. He shared so many stories and was very nice to talk to. He also gave great local recommendations he truly gave us a locals perspective! I highly recommend this tour. Even if you don’t believe in Ghosts this tour also highlights the history of Bar Harbor with some spooky stories! It’s a super fun time and definitely worth it!

Super fun E-Bike experience

This was a very fun experience. The four hours just flew by. It was also nice that they had an employee out on the trails as two of us needed a battery swap. Bigger guys run the battery down faster. What’s nice is that you go at your own pace. If you want to stop then you just stop for as long as you want.
