Really well done tour, our guide was Iain and he did a great job of going through the broader historical context that lead to Nazi Germany and the holocaust. The site itself is well preserved and informative. It’s an intense emptional experience, standing on the same grounds where so many evil things took place. But it’s an important thing to see, lest we forget.

Amazing Stress-Free Castle Tour with an Exceptional Guide

This was an amazing tour from start to finish. Although this tour was a bit pricey, we booked it to simplify the logistics of scheduling, navigating public transportation, etc. This was especially important since we were traveling with a small group that included two 80-year-olds. We were picked up right outside our hotel, and the only thing we had to worry about all day was being ready for our pickup. Once we stepped into the comfortable, clean, and well-air-conditioned van, everything else was taken care of. What made this tour even better was our guide, Mattis. Not only did he give us fascinating information about the history of the castles we visited, but he also chatted with us about German culture, regulations, and what it was like to grow up and go to school right near the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. He was kind, helpful, and incredibly attentive to the needs and abilities of everyone in our group. In addition, he was an excellent driver, providing us with a smooth and comfortable ride while demonstrating courtesy to other pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists along the way. I have booked a lot of tours and experiences through Viator, and this was by far the best! The convenience, personalized service, and attention to detail definitely made up for the expense. This is the best tour you will find to these locations

The VIP tour was worth every penny. Courtney was interesting and full of helpful hints. The snacks and free beer at the end were most welcome. Take her advice and take the bus to Mary’s Bridge then walk downhill to the castle. Walk all the way back to the village after the tour. It’s a brutal uphill walk to get back to the bus for a return trip. We loved this excursion- every stop was well planned out and perfectly executed.

Lucia is an exceptional guide!

Fabulous tour & great value! Please know there is travel via pubic transit…both city bus & train. The train does make a number of stops along the route. Our guide made it a smooth travel experience both there & back. Our guide was Lucia & she was delightful! She shared history and architectural details and offered excellent budget sensible ideas of places to eat & what to do and what to skip. She spoke clearly and loud enough and was so friendly & personable. She was easy to follow through the busy areas and ensured we felt guided but could still make the trip our own. It was a great day in Salzburg!

Loved the Premier experience

I loved this small group Premier experience on a spacious luxury bus! Lots of legroom for everyone and single seats on one side for solo travelers like me. Deyse, our guide was great, as was our driver, Andreas! Our group of 27 was always pleasant and showed up on time as we put in our 14,000 steps to see Neuschwannstein castle, Oberammergau and Linderhof Palace. I also enjoyed the patio seating in one of the village restaurants for lunch and a cold beer after coming down the hill from the castle. Great experience overall.

I think doing a food tour is one of the better ways to experience an unknown city. We have made it a point to do such a tour on the first/second day of arrival to a new place and have always had great experiences, including this one. They allow a great introduction to the city, stress-free trying of new/different foods and we generally come away with helpful recommendations for things to do around the city. Our guide for the Munich tour was Adam Joachim and we enjoyed our time with him. He was knowledgeable, easy to chat with and the tour never felt rushed. I would recommend doing this food tour.
