Magical Adventure
We were blessed to have a tour guide who had studied the back stories, legends and facts of the Neuschwanstein castle, Ludwig II, the local history and folklore. If you have the opportunity to request a guide, Stephen Wendell is outstanding. Having visited thee castle in the late 90s, I was less thrilled with the actual tour inside the castle itself. The new process has you grouped with specific time slots, herded through the rooms like cattle in the stockyards, and rushed so as to make way for the following groups. Simply allowing fewer people in a group, or allowing more time to take in the magnificent splendor would make a huge difference. That said, I would take my grandchildren to the castle if ever the opportunity arose. It is worth the trip, the crowds, the time and the money. You will not regret taking advantage of this tour.

Kudos to Viator and Amir
Its a very charming and educational experience. Definitely don't want to miss. Our guide, Amir, was fantastic. He is an expert in the middle ages and the centuries following. He answered all our questions and made the experience that much more fun. Thank you Amir!

Great experience
Our guide Amir was outstanding. He shared his knowledge about Neuschwanstein and history which made this tour much more interesting. He has a great sense of humor. It’s obvious that he enjoys his work and he shared that joy with us on the tour. The tour of the palace/castle itself is via audio tour (30 minutes) in groups of about 25 with someone leading the groups through the rooms. This tour via Viator included a horse drawn carriage ride down the hill. I highly recommend this tour. Many thanks to Amir!

Great experience for our adult family.
The bike ride is easy and there is not a guide for the biking portion. You ride to the base of the mountain lock up your bikes and continue up to the castle by bus, you do have to buy a ticket. The castle is guided. A easy pleasant walk back to the bikes. We were allowed to keep the bikes for our own use until 4pm. We started at 9AM, and the castle tickets provided with the bikes were for 11:05. Enough time for the ride and exploring before the castle entrance, and time to explore Fussen area after.
