Money, well spent

Take time to test your mask. Mine worked better than the one I’m renting for the week, but my daughters was constantly letting in water. Be patient until The the stars of the show arrive- they will. This is a lifetime highlight. If you don’t have a GoPro, content one. Have available storage on your phone to download- we saw some people come across this issue. You’ll buy one for next time. Hawai’i is an addiction for our souls, isn’t it? The crew are thorough, and professional. They are also personable. It’s money well spent.

Toa Luau is the best!

Toa Luau is the best of the several luaus I’ve been to in Hawaii, and the setting in Waimea valley is majestic. Definitely arrive a few hours early to make time for a walk through the botanical gardens and to the waterfall. The food at the luau was tasty and ample, with seconds readily available, and the luau show was a lot of fun, concluding with the dramatic fire dancing. You need to provide your own transportation to Waimea Valley for this event, but it is no difficult to rent a car for the day and drive there, allowing about 1.5 hours each way.

Fantastic Evening of Hawaiian Culture

We booked the premium seating, and it was absolutely worth it. Our table was in the very front, which we loved, although honestly every table seemed to have a great view. One tip: plan to be in line by 4:30 p.m. People start lining up early, and even though premium seating has reserved tables, the entry lines are still long and as soon as you are seated, you can get a drink! The show itself was outstanding. The dancers, musicians, and singers were incredibly talented and you could tell they genuinely care about preserving and sharing Hawaiian culture. I've been to several luaus over the years, and this was by far the best one. One thing I especially appreciated was that they didn't waste time bringing tourists on stage to dance the hula for laughs. I came to watch professional performers, not another tourist trying to dance! 😂 Instead, everyone in the audience learned and participated in a short hula routine right from their seats, which was fun without taking away from the performance. A final tip: bring sunglasses and a hat. Even at 5:00 p.m., the sun is intense until it starts to set. This was a beautiful, authentic, and thoroughly entertaining evening. I would absolutely recommend it. (Note. The tickets indicated the show ended at 9 pm; however, it was from 5-8:15 pm.)

Breathtaking - Wonderful - Must See Kauai Calls!

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I vacationed on Kauai for his milestone birthday. We knew we wanted to take a tour, and there are plenty out there to choose from. I booked this Makana Napali catamaran tour based on reviews and the fact that it is owned and run by native Hawaiians--plus it was the best price (I booked early on in our trip planning). The catamaran vs larger vessel (Capt Andy, Blue Dolphin, etc.) offered less people in the group for a true 'ohana feel. Captain Mike, and his guides (Elijah, Charley--guessing on spelling, forgive me) were AMAZING. They interacted with every person on the boat. Seating is half covered and half open. The experience of dolphins swimming alongside the boat, breathtakingly close-up views of cliffs, caves, and gorgeous waterfalls was incredible. The native guides shared so much about the culture and history of this beautiful island. My husband getting to snorkel was the icing on his 'birthday tour' cake! Thank you, thank you, thank you - Makana Charters and Tours!

My Driver/Guide & Pearl Harbor/USS Arizona Visit

Our driver/guide Jeff did a great job explaining everything, talked about the history of Pearl Harbor, and giving us good directions once we got into the visitor's center. Visiting Pearl Harbor/USS Arizona was a somber moment but great for everyone to know the history about it. I think everyone that visits Oahu should visit Pearl Harbor and pay homage to the great men that last their lives that day.

Go! You won’t regret it!

We decided to try this excursion last minute. We are so glad that we went. We saw 5 rays. It was amazing! Crew was friendly & knowledgable. We also got the extra bonus of a beautiful sunset. Great way to end our Hawaii vacation. Definitely recommend this - but also understand they have no control over the rays. We were very lucky tonight.

Such a great experience in a great body of water!

First of all, keep in mind you are dealing with Mother Nature and they can't control how sharks react. It was a quick process of boarding and getting settled and then we head out to an area where the cage is already settled. Our ride was smooth but I would definitely check ahead to see how the waters are and use dramamine if necessary. They didn't see any sharks in that area so we went to another one and stopped there. Getting in and out of the cage is easy and you are basically snorkeling so no need to feel anxiety and the sharks are not aggressive but more curious and just swimming around. We had about 20 minutes in the cage and the sharks got fairly close to us. If you want video, I would suggest bringing a gopro or spend $75 to get a copy of the company video. It was a great experience and I'm very glad I did this.

Amazing experience

This was a great experience. Our tour guide was experienced, knowledgeable, and fun. Sam told us great stories, provided Hawaiian history, and pointed out different streets and building’s. Pearl Harbor was incredible to finally see in person. The battleship blew our mind. It was a neat experience to see the ship.

Best Crew in Oahu

The experience was a great one. The staff was young but very knowledgable. Our family had a great time. The young men were raised right by their mommas, very caring making sure everyone was taken care of and having a great time. We had a boy with autism and one of the crew members stayed with him and his mother and was helping him to see the fish under water and Emma that took out pictures made sure she took good pictures of him. Emma by the way is a sweet mermaid lol the fins on that gal are amazing!

Relaxing Time

We were greeted with a flower lei! This is a nice open, sunny space next to the beach. We were seated at table 47 of 48 which was at the back. Close to the ocean, but far from the stage area. The food was good with a large variety of options. The protein options were pork, beef, chicken and fish. The sides included rolls, green salads, macaroni salad, purple potatoes, noodles and fried rice. There were a couple of dessert options too. The open bar served a variety of tropical drinks along with tea, punch and water. Island crafted items were sold there and it was interesting to speak with the vendors.
