Find your way to Rome's famous Colosseum to meet your guide and small group (if private option not selected).

Get guaranteed access to the ancient arena and proceed directly inside. Explore the first two rings of the arena while listening to stories of Caesar, gladiators, games, and entertainment. Learn about the architecture and engineering—and even tour the Arena Floor, if you selected the upgrade when booking.

Next, visit the Roman Forum, where you can see the Arch of Titus, the Basilica of Maxentius, and the Temple of Antonino and Faustina, plus other storied sights.

Continue to Palatine Hill, climbing as you hear about the origins of ancient Rome, including Livia and the House of Augustus. See the valley between Palatine Hill and Aventine Hill, where Circus Maximus once stood.

After several hours, your tour ends back at the meeting point.

Dario was a personable and knowledgeable guide who kept us at a great pace so we could see as many highlights as possible. He shared lots of interesting history along the way and shepherded us to the right lines and spots to skip the waits and get the best views and photos. Fabio was very engaged with all of us, showing all of us key aspects of the Forum such as how the ground level in Ancient Rome was much lower than today, and the exact location of the house of the Vestal Virgins.

For only being six person tour, it felt like 40 people. Our guide was always so far ahead of everyone we never knew where she was. We’ve been on multiple tours on this trip and this was by far the worst. We were rushed through colosseum. I could have done a cheaper one with more people and had a better experience.

This tour was incredibly informative. Our guide Luca was an archeologist who had actually performed excavations in the Roman Forum and more recently contributed to the restoration plans for the Colosseum. He brought Roman history to life, including so many interesting facts about the Roman emperors, senate, gladiators, and more. We learned so much on this tour and enjoyed it very much.

The tour ended up being my wife and I and another couple. Our guide was Luca and he was amazing. He led us through the different parts of the coliseum and the forum. He provided a ton of information but did not get far into technical details. The tour was perfect for us. We spent enough time covering everything but not too much. We did end up running a little long but no one noticed or minded. excellent tour by an excellent guide.

Wow! We had the most wonderful tour with Caterina at the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Forum. This was a repeat visit for us, yet we learned SO much from Caterina about the history of the games and the whys behind the architecture. She is fun, intelligent, sweet and such a fabulous tour guide. My family would take tours with Caterina over and over again!!! 100/10 experience for my family. The tour company was also very communicative and helpful!

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Dario, was incredible! He was so informative, answered any questions we had, and really made the Colosseum/Roman Forum come to life for us. He had additional pictures to share which helped explain visually what life would have been like during that time period. The small group setting was great, we were able to hear him perfectly, no need for annoying ear pieces. Definitely the best way to see and experience these amazing landmarks!
