- The colosseum currently guarantees special access to the arena floor which is off limits to the general public. The arena area is where the gladiator fights took place and also gives you the closest view of the underground area possible
- Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers' full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
- Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Our guide was Chiara - she is very knowledgeable about architecture and she made the tour fun. Despite it being 100 degrees out we still managed to cover a lot of ground and she took time to answer all of our questions. The communication with our guide and the company before the tour started was very helpful as we did this tour on the morning we arrived in Rome. We did not have to wait in many lines and the tour was structured in a way that allowed us to learn the history and see what we wanted to see. Chiara was great.

Wear cool clothing, hydrate before and during your visit. There is limited shade on this tour. We had a beautiful tour guide - Elisabeth. Elisabeth was so knowledgable as she had an archeology back ground.

This was a great experience! There were 4 people in our group with our guide - Fabio the fabulous!!! Fabio is so knowledgeable. He talked about all the things on the tour but also answered random questions that we asked. I was shocked he knew so much. He is a very sweet person and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him a bit as well. All of the areas of the tour were amazing. Being on the arena floor was awe inspiring. I highly recommend this tour and most definitely Fabio!!!

Skip the line for this entire experience was well worth it considering the lines around that were present throughout our morning. Sara was a wonderful guide with an abundance of knowledge about Ancient Rome and the three sites visited on the tour.

There is a moderate amount of walking and stairs, elevator available. Weather was very hot for us (100°F) with bright sun. Electric personal fans and a spray bottle of water was very helpful. Also hats and sunglasses. I wore flip flop sandals because of heat and it wasn’t bad.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about Roman history and included fun facts to entertain our 8 year old son. She was also considerate of how much we could handle and allowed for breaks and time to sit and kept us primarily in shaded spots.

Guillem had a wealth of information in the best way. The small group tour was a wonderful way to move through the colosseum at our preferred pace and ask all the questions we wanted. For anyone who loves Roman history or early Christian history it’s a treat! Gil was amazing! I felt like we had made a friend by the end of the tour and was sad for it to end!

Viator neglected to notify Liv Tours of the change in our tour time. As a result Liv Tours could not accommodate us. Fortunately, Viator refunded our tour fee in full. Yet we wasted vacation time and taxi money (about $60) traveling to/from our hotel and did not tour the Coliseum.

This was one of the best tours I've ever done on any vacation. Our tour guide, Dario, was passionate, engaging, and knowledgeable. He took us through the Forums and Colosseum, explaining hundreds of years of history in an easily understandable way. We learned a ton on this tour and got some excellent photos. The arena floor is not to be missed!
It was very hot in the afternoon sun and Dario was conscious of finding us shady spots to stop in and making sure we had time for water breaks. The three hours flew by and we left feeling like we really understood this part of ancient Roman history. Cannot recommend this tour enough!

Very in depth tour of the Coloseum. Our guide, Gabrielle, was the most knowledgeable docent of our trip. She wove fragments of history together to tell a complete story of the construction, social and political importance of the Coloseum, the scope of the spectacles enacted there, dispelled commonly assumed myths, and identified the reinforcement of the stratified social classes that the seating emphasized . Gabrielle brought the Coloseum to life - the walls came alive with the people of a long ago time.

The semi private tour with six people was great. Our guide was absolutely fantastic and she made it a great day. When you can engage people from 23 yo to 64+ you are spectacular. I would say it’s a bit of walking including some stairs.

We participated in the first tour of the day, which I recommend, as the area gets crowded fast! Our tour guide, Ilaria, was excellent: knowledgeable and friendly, offering a balance of information and time to look around and take pictures. The tour was a good length of time, and we stayed in the area after the tour ended to explore some on our own.

Rude tour guide that treated the tour like a rehearsed tour, even though it was only three people and private. Whenever we ask anything he would get upset and go back to a script of things he must’ve been trained to show us or talk about. It was boring, and we would’ve learned more reading from our phones and walking through it.

Serena was great. She was a professional. Excellent guide providing thoughtful and knowledgeable insight information throughout the tour. I was amazed Serena was able to fit all we saw and learned into the few hours we spent together. I would not hesitate to take this tour. It was great to have such a small group, it was well worth the additional cost. We left the “skip the line tours” in the dust.
