Sumter side trip
Great trip! I have wanted to see Fort Sumter for some time. Boat was clean and on time. I disagree with some of the other reviews which were critical saying trip was too short. I thought the length was fine. It is a very small fort and didn’t take long to see everything.

Didn't realize it was...
Didn't realize it was going to be a crowded outing. The time there was very short. Because of that we moved around during the park rangers talk to see as much as we could. Not as much restored at the Fort in Savannah.

We stepped off of the...
We stepped off of the ferry and onto hallowed ground where it all began! There are informative displays and a gift shop at both the initial visitor center and Fort Sumter. The ferry has indoor/outdoor seating and food to purchase. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Great Family Outing
Very cool place to visit. Getting to watch the flag raising was awesome. My dad is a veteran so it was moving for all of us. Rangers were friendly and very knowledgeable.

Lesson in History
Easy and enjoyable! Great history lesson and made the history seem more relevant and real. Volunteers and the park service folks were amazing and helpful. All around enjoyable. Also would be possible for elderly visitors, but uneven surfaces could prove challenging.
