Our guide Taaffy” was wonderful and helped us so much. She gave us explanation of everything she took us to see.
I would let other travelers know that this tour is very demanding physically. I’m proud of myself for making it. The wall was incredible to see and the garden was beautiful and worth it.

Amazing day with an amazing tour guide! The trip to the Southern Great Wall was excellent. We were immersed in culture and beauty. We learned amazing history along the way. Emma, our tour guide, was the best ever! She was so knowledgeable, friendly and kind. She really knows her stuff and she made the day perfect!. This tour was thoroughly enjoyable!
Our tour guide, Jerry, was knowledgeable, polite and went above and beyond for us.
We enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of this area. We could tell this area is less known and appreciated it. We didn’t have to fight crowds and were able to enjoy the area at our leisure rather than be pushed by a crowd like other areas.
We highly recommend this tour.

Had a great day with Taaffy! We took the bullet train from Shanghai, walked about 3 miles along the Jiangnan Wall and into the old town, and had a huge lunch. We finished the afternoon with a leisurely walk through the Dongu Lake garden before the train ride back to Shanghai. The excursion is a bit pricy but well organized for a long day. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was surprised with the experience and happy I decided to go ahead with the booking. If you have an extra day in Shanghai and want to see something outside the city, this is a perfect day trip!

Emma was a great guide. The trip was well planned, informative and enjoyable. The included lunch was also delicious, great choice of restaurant by Emma. We were able to tell Emma what we wanted to do more of, or less of depending on our fitness levels and likes.

I had a free weekend in Shanghai and opted to do this day trip to Linhai. Emma arranged everything for me from picking me up at my hotel and getting me to the train station. The South Great Wall trip was amazing. Had a perfect day with sun and no clouds. Emma was my guide and she was great! Very knowledgable and her English was perfect. We opted to do the stairs first and loop around. Glad we did it that way as there were a lot of stairs. Great views, and great history lessons. After walking the wall, Emma arranged lunch prior to our arrival. She selected 4 great dishes that gave a great tasting. And the beer was cold. Bonus points! We then walked around the city a little taking in the old buildings. And then of to the lake. Great views, old architecture and even more history. Overall well worth the trip! And as a bonus we had some time to spare before heading back to the trainstation, the driver took us up to a great spot to over look the city.
I would definetly recommend this if you want to fill a day, and Emma works on the weekends only. If you happen to book and get Emma as your guide, you will have a great trip!

Amazing full service door to door with everything taken care of. Emma was really friendly and picked me up at the hotel on time and then we made our way to the train station. The train ride was really easy and the visit of the wall and the garden was amazing. Emma was a treasure trove of information and she is eager to share her knowledge about the sites; super friendly and the the food was amazing. Definitely recommended for anyone wanting an immersive adventure. Emma was also very flexible and even added an extra secret view spot. It’s worth the time and money, would do it again in a heart beat.

My tour was organized very well. The guide Emma was great. She made the day very fun. It is a long trip. We were gone for 13 hours. There’s a lot of walking and a lot of stairs involved, which I like, but didn’t know. It’s good to know for people who are not super fit and might have a problem.
We had a very nice lunch at a funky restaurant, we saw the beautiful lake and the train ride was super convenient, nice and clean.
However, the reason why I’m giving this only two stars: this is not the Great Wall of China!!!!!
This is a wall in China. In the description, I find it misleading because they are calling it the Great Wall. This is a very different wall in a very different area. My day was very nice, but I would not have booked this tour if I had known that this is not the Great Wall. In the description, it looks like this is the southern part of the Great Wall, but it is not.

Regarding the location, we sincerely appreciate your feedback. For many travelers, the "Great Wall" is synonymous with the Ming Dynasty sections near Beijing. However, we would like to clarify that the Jiangnan Great Wall (Linhai Ancient City Wall) you visited is a genuine, historical "Great Wall" with over 1,600 years of history—predating much of the northern stone walls. It is famously known as the "Southern Great Wall" and served as the architectural blueprint for the famous towers in the north.
We aim for full transparency by listing the specific city (Linhai, Taizhou) and the 2.5 hour bullet train journey from Shanghai in our itinerary. We understand that Chinese geography can be complex for international visitors, and we will take your advice to make this distinction even more prominent in our descriptions to manage expectations.

This is a beautiful day out learning about history and culture. My guide Emma was very knowledgeable and had a genuine desire to teach you about this wonderful town's beautiful culture and she made sure everything was taken care of so that I could just relax and have a nice time. Lunch was also yummy. I had a fantastic time!

Full day trip to Southern wall of China (not part of great wall but Impressive none the less) Transfers from hotel to bullet train which was super cool. Hit the wall, walked a good KM along it, history says it was started about 1600 years ago and rebuilt in 15-1600s which isn’t dissimilar to the main one you visit in Beijing. Weather was a bit overcast which meant pics weren’t as good but still an excellent day. Out tour guide Summer was lovely, friendly and helpful. After the wall we walked the old town gardens had lunch and returned home. Door to door 12 hrs or so. We were here for a cruise package deal and this was a great way to see another part of China on a short 3 day Shanghai Trip. Well worth it if you can afford it.

Great experience seeing The Great Wall in the South! Summer, our guide, was informative, friendly, and a wonderful host. Also, the lunch spot she took us to was the best meal we had in Shanghai/China. Great options for veggie, meat, and fish.
Note, it was very cold in mid-January, so bring lots of warm layers.

We had an absolutely amazing day exploring the town of Linhai and seeing the Southern Great Wall! Emma our guide was awesome and we would recommend her very highly. Even before we started she showed how great she is at planning and communicating- ensuring our needs were put first!
She met us on time and we had a comfortable trip to the train station, she helped us get a meal and coffee (essentials! ) before showing us to our seats on the bullet train.
After starting the day with the steep steps at the Lansheng Gate entrance we reached the heights of the picturesque Baiyun Tower and learnt from Emma the history of “the hero” and the history of the wall, its design and of how it played a role in military innovation. We took our time to then walk down the remaining segments all the while Emma took great photos of us to capture the memories of the trip!
Once we finished the walk we took time to stroll down the Ziyang street before lunch at the Secret Garden which had great food and amazing hospitality.
Finally we walked through the Donghu Lake and gardens and learnt more about Chinese culture, idioms and the history of the site!
We had an a fantastic day and felt Emma worked incredibly hard to ensure we had a great trip which we are very thankful for! I recommend the trip and Emma, you won’t be disappointed!

We had a BLAST! Everything was perfect. A very gentle driver picked us up at the hotel at the right time then drove us to the railway station when our guide JUSTIN that was waiting for us.
We didn't had to think about anything, just relax and enjoy the tour. All the day went smoothly, Justin provided us an amazing experience at the great wall, telling us about history, religion, showing us every detail about it. Even the best spots to take pictures!
We felt spoiled, on a good way. If you want to see the China' history you must take this tour.

We had an incredible time on the Shanghai: Southern Great Wall Day Trip by Bullet Train. Our guide was outstanding—right on time, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire day, kept everything running smoothly, and shared great insights at every stop.
He also took us to the best viewpoints and photo spots, which made the experience feel extra special. This trip was already a great idea, but our guide made it 100% better. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent time during this short trips. LInhai worth to visit and we like the beautiful fort, Great Wall and scenery of this place. During our visit the crowd was low make it more peaceful and easy to walk. Our guide Emma, and excellent guide and company. She pays attention to detail as asked me aboutour food preferences. I had some food limitation and she managed to secure a good place for vegetarian for me at this excellent place of food and enviroment called secret garden. Emma’s warm, helpful, informative and bubbly nature made this trip more fun and enjoyable. Thanks to Steven who has also been helpful and upgrade our train ticket due to high season. Our gratitude for this. Thank you Emma and Steven for this wonderful tour of south Great Wall.

Jenny was a great guide and made this day trip really easy for us, especially since we were traveling with our 4 year old. From the beginning, she paid attention to our vibes and adjusted our pace naturally so we never felt rushed or stressed.
She was fun to be around, easy to talk to, and very accommodating. Traveling with a toddler can slow things down, and she handled that without making it feel like a problem at all. At one point, my son just didnt want to walk. Lol, so we carried him up those stairs. She also ended up taking a lot of photos for us along the way, which we didn’t expect but really appreciated.
One of the nicest parts of the day was walking along the wall near the food area. We were able to walk, stop to eat, and just enjoy ourselves without feeling like we had to hurry to the next stop.
Everything was well organized, from the train ride to Linhai to visiting the garden, the Great Wall, and the old street. Jenny shared helpful context and history but kept things relaxed and easy to follow.
This was a really enjoyable day.... 10/10 stars, and a big part of that was Jenny’s attitude and flexibility. I’d definitely recommend her, especially if you’re traveling with kids. If we could do this with a 4 year old, any one can do this day trip.
My wife is planning on doing a girls outing trip and will definitely find Jenny again.
