Korean alcohol is a lot more than just a green bottle of soju, which is diluted ethanol with artificial sweetener. Broadly, Korean alcohols are divided into Tak-ju (unfiltered rice wine), Cheong-ju (filtered clear rice wine) and So-ju (distilled spirit). Here, we will focus on our specialty, soju, but we can also taste other types too. Samhae soju was a beloved choice of spirit among the noble class of Joseon dynasty(1392~1894). This luxurious alcohol had caused cult following, but the making was so resource(rice)-heavy that production had to stop during famines. The current master, Hyeonjong Kim had learned and practiced for more than 10 years under master Taeksang Kim who had inherited and kept the recipe in the family. I had a wonderful time...

I had a wonderful time during the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The half day was perfect and allowed for time spent elsewhere before connecting at 1:30. The drop off point is Gwangjang Market and it's just that a drop off. Ok with it, just mentioning it, so there's no expectation of a guided tour around the market.

Awesome all day tour customized to be accessible!

Wow what a day! Jake was so nice and had very good English! He took us all around Seoul. He was very patient and kind with my wife’s mobility challenges. We first did the Namsan cable car - which was fun and very accessible. Then we went to palace which was very interesting. I did the entire tour of it - my wife sat and waited for me and she enjoyed looking at all the people dressed in traditional costumes. Jake explained that many tourists rent the costumes and wear them to the palace for getting free admission!! We went to look at some 500 year old houses which are still occupied. Next we went to the Buddhist temple. We were lucky as it was the annual chrysanthemum festival and my wife adores flowers. Plus the entire place was accessible with ramps. This was the highlight of the day for my wife. We had a traditional Korean lunch at the Maple Tree House. Meat was grilled at the table and was served with many accompaniments. My wife had a vegetarian rice bowl. Jake wanted to take us to an antiques market but my wife was worn out so we went back to the hotel. We highly recommend this kind of private tour when there are mobility challenges involved. Our guide Jake was first rate!!!!

Highly recommended this tour, Won was an absolutely fantastic tour guide and made our visit to the DMZ a truly memorable experience! I had visited the DMZ before, but Won made this trip feel completely unique and special. Won apart was his exceptional ability to navigate the crowds and expertly manage our timing. He seemed to know exactly where to go and when, ensuring we avoided long lines and spent our time enjoying the experience rather than waiting in crowds. His organization and leadership made the entire day seamless and stress-free. He also arranged a monorail ride to and from the North Korean tunnel which was extraordinarily helpful because we wouldn’t have been able to walk down and back up from the tunnel. Beyond the DMZ itself, Won took us to a fabulous local restaurant for lunch and shared excellent advice on which souvenirs were worth buying. These thoughtful touches made the tour feel personal and gave us an even greater appreciation for the experience.
