A true cultural immersion
The experience was truly immersed in the culture of the Dominican Republic. We went off the beaten path and stayed there where we enjoyed great sites, food and people. However, it was a FULL day (not half) and you may want to bring snacks and hand sanitizer.

Buggy Rides with Happy
This is a great experience. Get ready to get DIRTYY! we made our way from our resort, then to the buggys, through the mud and then onto the cave. Our tour guide was named Happy and he lived up to the name! He was an excellent tour guide and took care of us the entire time. He was pleasant, funny and attentive.

Great Experience
This was a beautiful experience. They picked us up and we headed to the ranch, the horses looked healthy and strong. The first 20 minutes were a bit suspicious due to the path but once we reached the beach it was all worth it. it was stunning and they made sure to make sure we felt welcomed. They helped us take pictures, and more! Would definitely recommend.

A great view of DR culture!
This was a lovely day on our vacation and allowed us a view into the culture of the DR that you miss when staying only at the hotel/resort. I would definitely recommend! It is a fairly long drive, around 3 hours from Punta Cana. There is information provided by the tour guide along the way which was engaging and interesting. Once you get to the colonial city, the tour is a walking tour. The pace of the tour is great, but be sure to keep up when given a time limit. I lost track of time and was almost left behind in the Cathedral. A buffet lunch is provided at a local restaurant and it was really great! The beef was phenomenal, as well as the dessert "coconut candy." I'll be honest that we were a little hesitant about it by look, but it tasted so good! The souvenir market we stopped at in the colonial city had so many options of locally made goods. Bring cash (USD or pesos are both accepted) for a significant discount on your purchase, as well as to tip your tour guide and driver! On the way back to Punta Cana we stopped at a small chocolate factory which had a very short demonstration of chocolate making and products, and time to explore their gift shop for chocolate, bath and body products, and souvenirs (I included a photo of some of the hand-painted dolls they had here - absolutely gorgeous!)
