It was just a fantastic experience! Being in two different places high up on a mountain and swinging and down on the beach by the ocean for a swim!

Darwin was our private driver and he was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the morning of our visit it was a downpour and much of the experience. Good weather is important to experience. The views we still made the best of it. I would not visit the local beach, but Montana Redonda is worth a visit.

Would like to give this a better review but just can’t. Our driver was nice enough but not English speaking so no real info given about the island. It was a 7 hour day, not 4-5 so plan on that. Traffic is just super slow. Not much to see or do on top of the mountain other than take pictures on the swings and brooms. This included lunch which was inedible and the dining hall was FULL OF WASPS! At least 50. Too much time on the mountain. Don’t go if you have any back issues because the ride up and down in the open air bus is brutally bumpy. Beach was nice but limited services so bring your own towel. There is no shade other than a few trees way back from the water. The surf was very strong so not safe to get in the water. Adjust your expectations about a beach visit. This is not a “virgin” beach. It just doesn’t have a hotel on it. One of the first times I’ve ever said that I wish I hadn’t spent my time on a Viator tour. Maybe your experience will be better than ours.

First off while guide/driver was very friendly he did not speak English. Tour was bearable because we picked up another tourist who could translate. Trip up the mountain was rough. Beautiful when you get there though. Trip to beach a waste if you're staying at beach resort. A lot of time in van with no talking or explaining of surroundings. Totally Viator's fault for not providing English speaking guide. If you understand Spanish guide was good.

My partner and I were looking for a tour that allowed us to see more of the country but was laid back and chill. This was it. We had a great time visiting mountain and beach. We were given lunch at the mountain and I was not expecting that. The Dominican store was just a gift shop. I thought it was cultural shop. Our tour guide Tito was polite, helpful and overall awesome.

My wife and I truly enjoyed getting away from the all inclusive resort and experiencing the local culture with our driver Gervasio. He made it special as we worked to communicate in English, visit the mountain swing in Montaña Redonda and stop at a local shop.
The whole experience was worthwhile and I would recommend this for others wanting to experience more than an all inclusive resort.

Sandy was so great! The views were beautiful! We got to try coffee and mamajuana at the gift shop. There were plenty of opportunities for photos. I feel very safe and it was overall such an easy pick up and drop off too.

The ride up the mountain might seem scary, but safety is the company priority. No need to worry, hold on for a fun experience. Breathtaking views from the mountain top to turquoise waters down below you can wade/swim in. The beach was almost vacant in the middle of the afternoon. You can even get a picture in front of where they filmed Jurassic Park, the first movie on the beach. I even found a full sand dollar. Our tour guide was amazing as well. Just call him Robinson Carusoe, lol. We also had the ability to shop at a shopping mall on the way back with free mamajuana or coffee. This is definitely a site you don't want to miss. Marvelous mountain views up the mountain and at the top. There are amazing photo ops at the top. There are giant swings, hammocks, and even a broom to fly on. We did have a wonderful lunch with grilled chicken, fried fish, rice, and salad, and a soda is your choice. Our tour guide never rushed us and allowed us to explore openly. Robinson Carusoe has an amazing talent for singing Whitney Houston songs.

The worst experience I had. I had to pay $90 and it said it included mountain, lunch and beach visit. There was no lunch and the beach was garbage. The mountain, it is only $15 for 1 person. It was a total rip off. The driver didn’t speak a word of English, so he didn’t understand what we were saying. We have filed a partial refund, hopefully we get that. If anyone is reading this review, please don’t book this.

We had a lovely experience. Our tour guide was Gervasio. He was a good driver, friendly tour guide, and great friend. Very patient with our group of all ages and ability levels. The mountain was gorgeous. Definitely a highlight of our trip. The van was a bit cramped but workable for our group. Good a/c. I would highly recommend Gervasio.

The tour operator never showed. They text me and said they would be “a few minutes late”, ok no problem. After repeatedly trying to contact them, and having our resort contact them twice, they said they would be here in about a half hour (which at that point would have made them 2hrs late). I text them to cancel the whole experience and refund my money. Of course now they want to reply, reply, reply. Well maybe if they had been up front to begin with and not left us sitting in the lobby of our resort for close to 2hrs I would have heard them out. Take it from me and go with another company, or better yet-get an excursion from your resort.

The drive to the top of the mountain in a truck is very bumpy but fun.At the top there are toilets and a small gift shop.We had an early lunch in the restaurant at the top which was very good and the view was beautiful.Not enough time at the top really.We then went to the beach which was completely deserted ,beautiful but a lot of rubbish around.Our driver Wester Martinez was very friendly and polite.

My boyfriend and I had a GREAT time ! Our tour guide JHORAJI was amazinggggggg! Although we took a little longer with some of the activities he didn’t rush us and made sure we did everything mentioned and more! The only thing we didn’t care for was this annoying cat that wouldn’t let us enjoy our lunch in peace. Overall definitely worth it, it is absolutely breathtaking at the top of the mountain there was also someone there to take great photos.

I was picked up from my hotel there were some people already on the van. A small group. We arrived at the bottom of the mountain and were picked up in a safari type vehicle. It was a very bumpy ride but fun. The toot of the mountain was so beautiful and many photo ops. The lunch was delightful and everyone was kind. After the mountain we went to Emerald beach. Learned a little Spanish. The trip was great and I would definitely recommend!

Montana Redonda trip is absolutely amazing! Raymond was an amazing tour guide. Once at the mountain, the views from the top are stunning, You see mountains and inland on one side the ocean and lake on other. You can no kidding sit and just stare in awe.
At the top there are some swings and observation tower you can enjoy for free. For pay there was zip lines and professional pics (4 bucks a pic). There is also a lil suvineer shop and bathrooms with no seats on the toilet bowls. Our visit included lunch which was maybe the best meal we had on our vacation.
Next we went to the beach. The sand was so soft. I had never felt anything like it. The place was great and the waves were awesome.
Montana Redonda is a must do excursion... Swing and relax. Thanks Raymond. Highly recommended trip!

The Montana redonda tour was an amazing experience. Tito, our driver and tour guide made us feel very comfortable and well taking care of. He also made sure we enjoyed every bit of the experience from the mountain down to the esmeralda beach. I will highly recommend this tour

Our tour guide, Darwin, was wonderful. He kept us updated with his arrival time for pick-up in an air conditioned van, was very knowledgeable and shared information on the DR.
Upon arrival at the mountain, we transferred to an all-terrain vehicle and driven to the top of Redonda Mountain. The views were spectacular! On one side, you have mountain views and on the other side the ocean. Included with the tour was a lunch, which included grilled chicken, fried fish and rice, it was delicious.
The ride up and down the mountain is fairly bumpy and rough. Guest ride in the back of a pick truck with padded seats and backs and railings to hold on to.
We were very lucky because it was only my husband and myself on this tour. And Darwin adjusted the tour for us to go shopping instead of the beach.
We would definitely recommend this tour to see a different side of the DR.

Our guide Weston was amazing! He was friendly, personable and did his best to make sure my friend and I had a great experience. We were his only two passengers and he made sure the vibe in the vehicle was fun! He showed us various highlights of the city as we made it to the base of the mountain. I will caution for those afraid of heights that we had to take a truck to the top of the mountain and it was bumpy but I highly enjoyed it and they are skilled at navigating it so I felt completely safe. Lunch was fantastic and the view from the mountaintop was phenomenal! You can take your own pictures or there are guides that will take pics for you (costs $4/Pic that you keep).
Then we went to Esmeralda Beach, which only had 3 other people on it when we got there. The water was perfect and it was very serene. We did have some car trouble at this point but Weston got done help from a few guys that were there for a jumpstart and he made sure we were okay since it was so hot outside. He even stopped so that we could get souvenirs before heading back to the hotel.
This tour was a great experience for the money we paid and was my highlight of the trip. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone and if you go, enjoy all of the amazing views!

I have to update my review because my prior review was based on the bad experience we had with the photographer. The excursion was amazing, the beach expectacular, the food really food. Salvador was amazing. Just don't buy the pictures ,it's a scam. First,the said three dollars per picture but at the end the charged 4 dollars per picture. Have another person in your party take the pictures. We enjoy this excursion and how professional and acomodading Salvador was. 🥰💗

Mountain was nothing but perfect and Their staff were awesome. But this tour group is so disorganized. They confirmed 830 pick up via email when I booked. I called the day before and they confirmed 830 time. I got a text at 720 am they would arrive in 2 min we were still laying in bed. I told him he’d have to give me a bit of time to rush and get dressed. I booked an English tour but tour guide spoke only Spanish. They left a guy behind on one of our pickups, I assumed they had also given him wrong time. One guy on tour didn’t know the excursion included beach visit and he was in jeans.another three didn’t get a chance to eat lunch at mountain. Then the tour guide said he didn’t know we were suppose to visit beach. I was adamant about going. They took us while the 4 people waited which I felt bad but that’s what I paid for. Because the beach was not on the other people’s planned itinerary we only had about 15 min on beach. There was no bottle water offered and the AC didn’t work well in van. Don’t bother with this tour group. It’s so disorganized

Darwin was so patient and a nice guide. The tour is well paced. No rush. You can get some amazing photos!! The beach was almost like a private beach and we had all the time we wanted there. Lunch was a simple local lunch and was good. If you are looking for a shorter tour and love the view of mountains n lakes this is for you! The view is breathtaking. To go up the mountain you are transferred to a truck and it is fairly easy to get on to it. The ride uphill and downhill is quite bumpy and that is the best part! So enjoy it. There are small guides up the mountain to take some professional photos on the swing and other props. There is also a short zipline available (not included in price) if you wish. You are obviously free to take your own pics as well. As a solo traveller I really appreciated the photographer being available and not expensive.
I booked an afternoon trip for 2 pm and was picked around 10.45 so keep that in mind while booking.
